Interesting he just called out Onana for being poor with his feet.
funny isn't it. He's a fan at the end of the day and he's massively frustrated at us and it comes throughI sense he’s once again being criticized for saying the exact same things we’re all saying?
He said Antony can become a Riyad Mahrez type.
This guy is supposed to be an expert pundit? He hasn't a clue about football.

It’s just a constant moan. Is it because he’s a Utd legend that he thinks he can highjack a game like this?

The Antony/Mahrez quote as above was ridiculous though. Literally their only similarity is they are both left footed right wingers.
first half yeah, second half they were much betterNeville and Redknapp on Sky losing the run of themselves with that Forest win. "great" Forest performance? in reality they were impressive with how clinical they were with two goals two shots on target but along with United they very much played their part in one of the lowest quality games I've watched this season.
GNev as co commentator is a hard listen isn't it.
The comment is stupid and quite disrespectful to Mahrez tbh so no wonder fans are getting annoyed. To put it into perspective if Antony continues with the same level of performances after 10 seasons he'll end up with less G/A than Mahrez managed during Leicesters title winning season. Was pretty clear wasn't it?
He was saying he's not going to become a worldy, but could hit Mahrez type level.
That's pretty damn worldy to me.He was saying he's not going to become a worldy, but could hit Mahrez type level.
I can’t understand what’s happening there though. They haven’t spent any transfer money in a few transfer windowsButt is in charge at Salford now, Neville stepped back over a year ago.
Fair decision anyway, they have one of the top budgets in League 2 but are in a relegation battle.

Mahrez level is top 5 right wingers in prem history. You think Antony has shown anything to get anywhere near that ?

You will struggle to name 5 better right wingers in premier league history than Mahrez. You think Antony has shown anything to end up anywhere near that level.
The guys a commentator on sky sports mate. The comment in general is doing the rounds on social media and everyone is talking about it and you can understand where they're coming from, whether you respect him or not is irrelevant. It's the equivalent of Carragher saying Nunez might not be a Ronaldo but could become a Rooney/RVN type player, pretty sure there'd be similar reaction. How dare he disrespect Mahrez! Mahrez plays for City, I have zero respect for him.
Not often I disagree with Gary Neville in fairness, personally I’d be happy if he had a big stake in the club. From a business prospective he’s done very well in life. Lives and breaths United and only has the clubs interest at heart.

In fairness it's not like he is the sole owner is it. For all we know he didn't want to sack the manager.
Unlikely to be the case though considering how shite Salford are.

Don't want to get into a debate with you about a top 5 tbh but the fact that you've had to include players that have played the majority of their time in the prem on the left kinda proves my point that it was a howler of a comparison. You should've included Hazard though if you included Lws.Salah
Ronaldo
Beckham
Bale
McManaman
Sterling
Mane
wasn't that hard
Left wingers?lws?
Try and keep up, Mahrez used to play for CityHow dare he disrespect Mahrez! Mahrez plays for City, I have zero respect for him.
Agreed, not sure why everyone is overreacting to the comment. He even stated that he doesn't think Antony can be as good as Mahrez, just maybe he can watch him and model him. Tbf though, I saw the podcast not initial comment which everyone reacted to. Here's the one I watched:That's not the way I interpreted it. I've never heard him say Anthony could be as good as Mahrez, more that he should model his game on him, mainly to mix his game up more to go on to his right side the way he does
He had a huge stake at Valencia, went pretty wellNot often I disagree with Gary Neville in fairness, personally I’d be happy if he had a big stake in the club. From a business prospective he’s done very well in life. Lives and breaths United and only has the clubs interest at heart.
Hazard was always just a left winger. Bale, Mane and Sterling spent a fair amount of their careers on the right wing.Don't want to get into a debate with you about a top 5 tbh but the fact that you've had to include players that have played the majority of their time in the prem on the left kinda proves my point that it was a howler of a comparison. Add Robben and Kanchelskis for the right ahead of MahrezHazard was always just a left winger. Bale, Mane and Sterling spent a fair amount of their careers on the right wing.
I didn't add Robben as iirc he only played on the left for Chelsea.Add Robben and Kanchelskis for the right ahead of Mahrez
Kanchelskis I am not sure was actually better than Mahrez.
As someone who watched kanchelskis week in week out I can assure he wasI didn't add Robben as iirc he only played on the left for Chelsea.
Kanchelskis I am not sure was actually better than Mahrez.
Nah. his peak was higher, played to a high standard for much longer and won much more. You're having a laugh, right?
Sadio Mane only played 16/17 as a right winger, all other seasons he was played predominantly as a lw. The only season Bale played as a right winger was his second stint at Spurs in 20/21. He has 17 total appearances in the premier league as a right winger. Sterling has the equivalent of 3 full seasons as a right winger in his whole career.Hazard was always just a left winger.
