Gabriel Jesus | Signs for City

Did I seriously just read someone say they would prefer him over Pogba... Bloody madness

Yeah, there is the clause. But Palmeiras can tell Jesus to accept City's offer so they cash in more money (32m). That's why United told Palmeiras that they'd top City's offer.
Do you think the United links with him are legit? Brazilian media tend to link United with Brazilian players to hype up the interest in the player and increase the transfer fee, so I have no idea if that's the case here.

The site globo is very legit. Unless they are quoting some other bullshit newspaper.

The time Lucas was linked with you guys, it was very legit. Leonardo convinced him to go to PSG in the last second.

Ok cool so Globo is reliable. Good to know, cheers.

You not a united supporter? Who do you support?

Still fully expect him to go to City. And think he will be excellent there to unfortunately.

Globo is very reliable, though. It's not the typical pasquinade.

Hypothetically, would people rather sign GJ or Mahrez?

Obviously GJ is younger and has higher potential but he would be unlikely to offer the immediate impact of Mahrez.

You don't change the best prospect of his generation for some one season wonder.

They play in different positions, but I'd personally prefer Gabriel, as I think he has the higher potential. He's also really stepping up this season, but yeah not Mahrez level yet.

Have the value police turned up yet?

What will you allow United to spend on this deal? 47p?

Stock pilling all the best young talent is the way forward!

Rashford - 18
*Jesus - 19
Martial - 20
Shaw - 21
*Fabinho - 22
Bailly - 22
*Pogba - 23
De Gea - 25 (for a keeper its young)

*Potential signings.

If we sign him and Pogba, and at least two of Depay, Januzaj, Rashford and Pereira develop well, I can see us becoming as dominant as Barca have been in the last few years.

So we are offering 38 million euros + Double the wages city are ready to offer. Strangely his contract states that we (us ,bayern, Madrid, barcelona) only need to offer 20 million pounds to start talking and other clubs 33.5 million euros. So that seems strange. Maybe we are doing this so that his club pushes him to us and then offer him double the wages just to take him from city? I just want to believe it, but i am not sure its true.
Sure we did.

Could someone explain why we are trying to outbid City if he allegedly has a release clause of about 24m euros for us and a few other clubs?
 That doesn't sound right, does it?! City offered 32m. What happened to our 24m release clause thing?

He is part owned by his agents who have a 45% share of the fee. A bigger fee from us, raises the amount they get, with money being money, we are hoping this can sway him to sign for us.

Essentially, the extra money is a sign on bonus.

Nice to see I'm in good company with Paul Scholes as vigilant value cop. I like this Brazilian. We should get him. The issue is - if we buy Jesus we need to release some senior player. We have to open a playing slot for him. What realistic excuse is there to keep a kid like this in the reserves, what else is there for him to learn? Fans what to buy, buy without releasing experienced players. Or maybe that's the coaches (wanting to keep all the experienced players)? Because experienced players are always better even when they're slower, less technical and just as mistake prone. Buy him, but play him.

We can leave there for an another season, or sell Young to make an opening about his godship.

You certainly wouldn't spend 30 million then put him in the reserves.

Lingard. That is all.

Bringing in GJ and Fabinho after Pogba would be unreal.

Seems to me like they are using us to squeeze a few extra quid out of city.

I do agree that it will leave us with some great players potentially, I don't think anyone will be anywhere near as dominant as barca for a while. Once in a generation type of team.
