I agree too, just mentioned in case it was a problem they didn't want. Who knows, some players might flourish under a different regime.

This is going to be such a mess. Nothing wrong with Kubala, but I suspect he is exceptionally highly rated in that database. I was planning to get him R3 or 4 easily.

Yeah. Not sure how strict are the managers with their preferred formation - I would expect them to change it if their star player is a natural #10 that is seriously restricted up front/as a part of a central duo.

Either you got the wrong manager or player then, surely.

I'm actually really struggling with (and somewhat enjoying) the refreshing "zero control" draft dynamic. The manager will end up doing whatever he wants. The game will injure red card and upset loads of players. By the end of the first season we will surely have Di Stéfano pining for Madrid (and vice versa). Too many variables, just feck it really.

Manager update

I am going to allow a one time change of Manager and a one time change of Primary Tactic.

Neither of these one time changes will ruin the spirit of the draft as a couple managers were little undeveloped when they were added into the game and I have no problem adding an actual important historic formation to a manager where it was left out (and they actually have an open formation slot anyway).

Also like the FM2017 modern, I will allow a one time change of Manager at the start but I cannot allow more than one as I am sure you all understand that would be a lot of busy work for me.

Please submit any Manager changes before the end of R3 of Drafting.


NOTE ON TRANSFERS

The vote is very close here and I still haven't decided. Basically I think I will try some kind of hybrid where I lock in no transfer the first season then do a season of narrative updates then maybe open transfers summer 2 and then lock those in for a season or two.

No transfers in the first season is a good idea, you'll have your original squad perform for 2 seasons, but after that we should grant the AI full freedom — or it will become a borefest.
