DOn't worry about that in this database. The legends at 18 even newer ones like Messi all have appropriate mental attributes.

I think the designer experiment and that's why Messi is 18 so the amazing mental attributes don't get randomized per save

Yeah.

While every save there will of course be different legends that overperform and some that underperform, none of the top players will be lemons. More likely someone will unearth a hidden gem.

In theory Pele should be quite similar but with better passing/vision (maybe a bit slower, but not by much). We'll see

It's impossible. That's why I'm questioning the wisdom of picking Cruyff being 13th in the R1 order: subtle/nuanced differences will be impossible to replicate and all I'll be left with is an uber attacking manager who doesn't have the best forwards and can't exploit the best defenders.

I'm actually thinking about largely picking players I'm not quite sure how to best use and see what AI Cruyff makes of it.

Perma-injured as well? Not having a dig, I do wonder about that with a fair few players. I once had him out for 14 months in CM2.

Don't bother with central midfielders, he will play fullbacks and wingers ahead of them.
 
Was just taking a look at the database. Safe to say Ronaldo looks incredible, great prick from @NM.

Likely the same. Ronaldo was bound to be great anyhow, but please don't tell us going forward as surely much of the fun will come from getting duds (not lemons, but not what you signed up for).

Surely there must be a few cases where a player's position isn't what you have him down as as well, particularly with oldies and WMs.

Yeah, it's this release. He makes one for every new FM (since 2015, I think)
 
If anyone wants to see their manager so they know their preferred formation and playing style let me know

Cheers. I mostly look forward to the reveals before the season even starts (@oneniltothearsenal take note):

1) League players ranked by value (top and bottom) will likely throw up a few surprises - a few token unexpected shit stats revealed
2) First XI according to our AI(?) Manager, wouldn't be surprised to see R20 picks starting ahead of early round picks here and there

BTW, have you decided on whether it's a normal snake or odd rounds start from the other end? Makes a huge difference to how I'd go about things. We usually "rebalance" in the reinforcements, but that isn't on here.

Normal Snake I think is fine here.

From simming the seasons out I think there are enough hidden gems that everyone is going to have a chance to build an equally strong side.

Also the age difference will balance things out over 7-8 seasons as some might build more for instant success and others with younger players who will come into their own in 3-4 years
