I was only going by that full game & general lack of Di Stéfano on any of the lists. Playing him in central midfield is a blasphemy — I mean, does he even score above 10 goals per season? It's just such a shame that my formation doesn't even have an AM spot.

It's weird to see my team have great performances from the attacking players but concede so, so many goals. I need to go back and find what my squad was again, but I guess my defenders are struggling to work in Sacchi's uber-aggressive setup.
No, I think he's been getting around 9 per season. I suspect the latest match engine would be better at handling a Di Stefano but we are probably still a way off really seeing an AI simulate the unique way all the classic players played. I'm still waiting to see Socrates play a lot of backheel passes

If you are going to play for a number of hours, I'd say yes, just set it up overnight or something. Although, I haven't tried any database newer than this one. But if I was doing this again, I'd definitely put the time into the newest DB

Depends on whether he is any good or benching a better player. Had that feeling watching Bozsik in that SF, so static... Feck van Hanegem (who must be asking for a transfer by now), I want Andreolo back.
Finally away from the bottom of the league, maybe my young players start to blossom and I can make a push for the European spots next year.

May be right in time too.
I somewhat expected young players to struggle for gametime and wind up moving for peanuts, to much pain/derision. Cue picking oldies like Morales who could play to a decent level, but would never get in the way/stunt the development of someone like Figo.
Haven't seen much of that, but surely teams winning the league and in Europe will start creating a rep/$$$ gap and kicking things off? E.g. how long is Messi going to put up with being out on loan from the bottom-placed team and with little hope of starting ahead of Zico?

One thing I've learned is that previous seasons won't necessarily be a good indicator of what's to come in future seasons. Each season has had its own fair share of surprises.

It must be head-to-head. I was never a master of the FM database setup so not surprising something like this happened.
It's also baffling why SAF left @Gio after winning the CL. Maybe it was a mic drop quit after dismantling Cruyff twice, in the semis as manager and in the finals as a player
