Lots of wums in here I see having fun
If it's not, why would they enforce it in every race but this?Is it in the rules though? The commentators seemed unsure.. that was around lap 54.. they were talking about it.. said it usually happens.. but didnt say it was the rule
The race shouldn't have restarted with only the people between Max and Lewis being allowed to unlap. Also, by the rules, the unlapped drivers needed to make it to the back of the field. Is there any question about legality. Max passed and won, i don't think that passing was out of the order ..
Obviously Lewis was hard done by but my God, that was the most thrilling lap I've ever seen in an F1 race.
Not a huge F1 watcher but his is like watching MUTVSky really annoy me, why are they not talking about the rules? Trying to explain if it was a legal outcome or the race?
The problem is this new shiny F1 audience don't understand that that wasn't a race. That was not even the most thrilling lap in the last 2 weeks . One guy on new soft tires and other on 40 lap old hard tires is not really a contest
not a chance, unfortunately.Surely the title will end up with Lewis eventually?
Yep, incredible last lap ….the most exciting I’ve ever seenObviously Lewis was hard done by but my God, that was the most thrilling lap I've ever seen in an F1 race.
Are you also saying you get zero joy from seeing Liverpool or City suffer a humiliating defeat? Didn't have a chuckle at Pools 7-1 loss last season?
No doubt he is a fast driver. But he very much didn't deserve it today. The FIA manipulated the outcome. How did only 5 cars get moved out of the way?Come on man, he deserves the championship.
It's such a crappy way to win and Lewis was comfortably winning through the race, but saying Max doesn't deserve it is just not right, even with the controversial driving in recent races (I've been rooting for Lewis too and I cannot stand Max).
They’ll have Ginger Spice interviewd next. Not a huge F1 watcher but his is like watching MUTV

Fantastic day for the sport, fully deserved for Verstappen - a great performance out of him all year, a fitting end. Very tactically astute from Red Bull and a very poor decision from Mercedes not to react to their pits. Very enjoyable viewing.
5 lap speed race between them only.Surely the title will end up with Lewis eventually?

Exactly, just love the drama and moments excitement not realising how absolutely unfair and such a farce it wasThe problem is this new shiny F1 audience don't understand that that wasn't a race.
Tell me one thing...Even for you this is embarrassing..
Lewis has and was incredibly gracious in defeat, the only thing we've heard from Toto was his message to Masi which got a smug response from the race director, guessing he's off smashing tables.Have Lewis or Toto spoken yet?
I'm OK with Max winning, both drivers were exceptional this year and both deserve it. They have to keep it a sport rather than something manufactured for TV though and rules are written for everybody to follow.
I hope it doesn't get stupid and taken to CAS by Mercedes, but the FIA definitely need to review the rules and make sure they are fit for purpose.

Deserving the championship, and deserving the race win are totally different things.
Through the course of the season, both Lewis and Max have deserved to be number 1.
There is no need to be so biased.
I'll repeat, I absolutely cannot stand Max but I'm not so deluded to say he doesn't deserve this.
I sniggered then looked at the tv. MadnessThey’ll have Ginger Spice interviewd next.
What would the alternative be though, if race control were found to be in the wrong here? (In whatever way.) Cancel out the last lap, and let the order at the finish line of the previous lap be the final standings? Cause you can't give any driver a penalty for this, re-race that lap, or rearrange the outcome based on an assumption of how Verstappen would have been hindered by those five cars.Surely the title will end up with Lewis eventually?
I guess but how often does one decision hinge on the title.Surely this is a case of "oops we fecked up" and that's it right? Like when PL refs feck up big time, the results still stands regardless...?
Much bigger than that on the last lap of the whole championshipSurely this is a case of "oops we fecked up" and that's it right? Like when PL refs feck up big time, the results still stands regardless...?
Ge her off the screen and get Totto on, putting money on him dropping the F bombThey’ll have Ginger Spice interviewd next.
