Do you want the ESL to happen?

I am loving the drama of all this I have to say. Football was ruined the second they let countries and sugar daddies buy football clubs. I want this to blow up further.

Regardless of the clubs have done right or wrong, it's another subject. Still I don't get why there are people who support Fifa/Uefa/domestic governing body to ban the players from WC or Euro. They're actually just professional workers who are respecting their contracts. If Fifa/Uefa have any issue with the ESL, they should target those 12 clubs not the players I think.
Because you need leverage to make criminal capitalists change their view. How can you be so blind as to not see they wouldn't care if no external pressure was applied?

No one is supporting UEFA or FIFA but opposing the ESL. How is this so difficult for some of you to comprehend? Is nuance that difficult?

Would this have happened if fans were still in the stands?

Would that have mattered at all, the potential immediate backlash from the match going fan, or would greed have ruled the day regardless?

I mean..what do you expect?

"Let's form a super league and break away from UEFA and FIFA"

Spurs: "For one tournament? and then what if I got relegated? I'll be left in the streets?"

"Let's do no relegation clause for some period of time and we'll see how this goes"

Spurs: "I'm in, feck UEFA!"

The no relegation was the starting point. The point being that the most marketable clubs want to keep the money for themselves.

What does that even mean?
Well, in 1955 Chelsea won the title, under pressure from the FA they chose not to take part in the European Cup. The following year Busby and United won the league and Busby promptly told the FA to do one. The FA responded by saying that if We didn't manage to fulfil our domestic responsibilities then we would be heavily sanctioned. They also refused to move any games and that is why Busby chartered a plane to Belgrade a couple of years later and we ended up with Munich.

The fact that our higher ups are even comparing the two is disgusting.

Bigger market isn't it. Feck the local fans, target America and Asia, chase the money, its what its all about. We'll have special kick off times to suit foreign markets next.
We are what's known as 'legacy' fans now, mate. The 'fans of the future' (aka the likes that couldn't give a toss about the importance of a club's heritage and history) are where it's at. They'll take games on the road too, I have no doubt. Shanghai Stadium and the sort. What a fecking disgrace.

What a shambles this is  I love the drama though. I always knew football would go down the shitter, not so soon, but here we go

If the PL decides to kick out or even relegate the teams involved they will be cutting their own throats. If all the big 6 have to play in is the Super League they will just expand it, invitations out to Villa, Everton and Leicester for example and don't think for a moment those teams won't join. You can hate them as much as you want but the only way forward is for the footballing authorities to work with them not against them.

For arguments sake, let's say they ban all the teams from CL and Europa.

Means, PSG will be the champions without playing any more match. That itself is a lawsuit by the Broadcasting companies, sponsors and the clubs.

Europa League- it will be a Roma vs Villarreal final. I don't anyone cares except for their fans but that's the case in EL anyway. The lawsuit still stands.

PL - Leicester and West Ham will fight for the title. It's all good when they pip the big boys when they are actually playing. But if they are banned, the same sky who has the rights will be the first one to create an issue here. This is in addition to other countless lawsuits that would go.

Now banning from international tournaments. That's even worse. UEFA probably can ( I don't think they can ban players for non sporting reasons. This is the club ownership and not the players. If my employer does something wrong, I cant be punished ans court won't agree to it).

But Let's say, they will but it will just stop at euro cup. I doubt other football federations care. Do you really think Conmebol will ban Messi, Cavani, Suarez,Sanchez, Aguero etc.. ?

Now imagine the Euros without these players or imagine the world cup without these players.
We'll end up with parallel titles like the WBO/WBA/WWF belts in boxing or whatever. There'll be at least two different European Champions at any one time.

I didn't realize they were comparing themselves in the same manner. Now that I get it... Jesus, I am speechless. We need them to understand the gravity of that "opinion".

I think if UEFA bans them then FIFA is going to ban them too. The top players can get almost the same money for playing for too teams not in the SL.
But would they want to play for their countries or not? If they don't, then playing in the SL would only make them irrelevant players very soon. New players would take their place. All this depends on the fans. It's fan power being given a new boost. Fans can stop this.

In political sense, he is not required to name call the owners specifically. In his positions, he's talking with club's chairmen, CEOs. There is no reason in business and politic senses, to name check someone behind the scene. If that's what you want to say. That I can agree.

However, when you put personal twist as in "if I am a businessman" looking out for my career long term, then getting to the owner, may open doors of opportunities if you're ambitious. Working for a big boy now, but anticipate to a climate change, it's better to catch the other big boy attention, with the protection of the spotlight. Play the card right, and secure your future job.

I responded to a post suggesting that he should specifically target the owners and not the clubs. It's not a good idea to target these people directly or if you do you better be careful about what you say, he targetted Woodward who is small fry and Agnelli who was a close friend but he is going to rightfully leave the rest alone.

Isn't that a bit hyperbolic? UEFA messed up in that City case, but it's not like they can't afford the best legal teams there are. Legal teams don't get exponentially better the more money you throw at them. There's a cut off point where you either can afford the best lawyers, or you can't. Surely UEFA can afford it

Nope not even a little bit

All this time barred nonsense was just that. The actual letter stating Mansour was providing money to top up the Aabar sponsorhip wasn't time barred, its was successfully argued, discredited and beaten by our dream team of lawyers.

Well Ceferin has made it clear, this is do or die as far as UEFA are concerned. What will be interesting will be what FIFA actually do, rather than what they say.

Infantino is President of Fifa and also an IOC member too. He has been accused of accepting gifts from Russia and Qatar ahead of their world cup bids. He is rumoured to be very close pals with Agnelli also.

So I will be surprised if FIFA actually back Ceferin....maybe they could just wipe UEFA off the map and accept Amazon's money

Even if you look at it with complete bias, forgetting the good of the game and just what is best for United.. this isn't even it.

If we are guaranteed entry into the biggest European Competition every year anyway, there is absolutely nothing to keep the Glazers investing in the playing squad. They'll just let us spend enough to keep the Squad a PL team (like Mike Ashley) and pocket the rest,

I hope we get chucked out of Europa this season and banned from the CL next season. We deserve it.

If ever there was a right time to grow a fecking spine, FA, Premier League, governments, UEFA, FIFA... this is the time.

They want one more year of CL football and then start the new competition after the 2022 world cup so PSG can join and drop their pretence of being against this. UEFA won't do much because of you kick all these teams put their broadcast partners are going to ask for half the money back cos they can't sell advertising for West Ham vs Getafe.

Ceferin: "They are not banned from European football forever but the way they acted was wrong"

Look at that numbers. Do you really think there is any going back from this ? It would be a stupid thought by itself.

There is if the majority of the fans don't support it. How are they going to make those kinds of money without the fans?

It is all about power. The UEFA controlles European football and they showed how corrupt they are. Now 12 clubs feel powerful enough to attack the UEFA for power, influence and money. What's the problem? They both do not care about football, they care about money....

Let me be absolutely clear, this is offensive and an affront to suggest that this is anything like what I did.

Whoever the club hired for PR is an absolute clown and a vile cretin. Bringing Sir Matt into this is disgusting and spits on the memory of the Busby Babes.

How does inviting "guests" even work? The rest of the league will be aiming for Champions League qualification as that will continue to run. If you qualify for that then get "invited" to this, how does that work? If you join it you'll be booted out of UEFAs competitions from then on. This will be a closed league of the same teams. Why even join it as a guest when you're guranteed to be relegated regardless of where you finish since the others are exempt? It a shambles. Greedy feckers.

What kind of lunacy is that. If that was real, United should not have made an announcement and not have joined at all.

Pat Nevin on BBC Breakfast made the point that these clubs were damned if they do and damned if they don’t. If this went regardless of their involvement and they asked to join after, they would have missed out on a hell of a lot of incentives which would put the founders at a major advantage.
