this is like turning up for the biggest exam of your life and getting 80% for signing your name, other than pride why would you even try( the glazers and likes don’t care about winning only money) so feck this sham cabal feck thus anticompetitive competition feck modern football.

Let’s adjust your figures a bit for your analogy.

as long as you aren’t a complete tool. You turn up to every exam, and you should know you are getting 50% of the answers before you know the questions.

So its either the corrupted UEFA / FIFA or the Greed of the big teams. Football has become too commericialised for its own good.

Aside that, Leicester must be thinking why they were not invited and yet Spurs is on the list. :wenger:

I can understand why the greedy PL owners want a super money league but I am really surprised to see record time champion Real Madrid are the front runner of this breakaway thing.

A dark day for football. I genuinely hope we’re kicked out of the CL next season (if we qualify) and deducted points from the PL. disgraceful move.

The leagues should meet and just ban all 12 clubs with immediate effect from the league, CL and Europa. Additionally, any cups won this season should be forfeited.

Ah welcome to commercial breaks during the games, new names for clubs and odd starting times to suit the Chinese crowd. This is screwing with so much history and blood, sweat and tears - they should be ashamed! Capitalism at its finest of course, there is no stopping crazy ideas.

The FYRE festival of football.

LOOOOOOOOL
Apparently perez said if players are banned from internationals they gonna make their own world Cup!
The state of this shit

Perez out of fecks to give

Do people care about the nations league? This will be the next nations league for me. I won't even know who won.

I can understand local fans being angry. They won't be able to afford to watch all the away games as they used to be. However our rival teams should just shut up really. What had the likes of Burnley, Stoke and co had done to improve the EPL entertainment thus boosting the very revenue these clubs do not want to lose? Time and time again, the big clubs are facing teams who play catenaccio/rugby style turning games into a frigging bore fest. Sure United are being greedy on this matter. However the same can be said about the small/mid sized clubs who would rather shit on entertainment just to keep on piggy banking on the revenue generated by others.

Does this mean we're out of EL?

What it's most baffling is there clubs, ours with them, are doing this while wanting to play the domestic leagues. So hey we are going to screw CL but everything else to be the same. Instead of finding middle ground with uefa.

Domestic leagues will be dead to with nothing to play for for the most part.

If you look close enough you’ll probably find some nepotism that will change your mind.

There is a huge difference from the way football is being looked at by fans in UK and Northern Europe, compared to the Southern countries. Therefore I can imagine that clubs from Italy and Spain will get much more sympathy and support to this new league, than in England and Germany.
300 mio pounds as a starter bonus, and guaranteed 125 min pounds a year is crazy money. Who is going to pay? The fans - sorry, the customers. No way I can afford / will pay to watch that shit.

I think that’s what the clubs are going to receive, subscriptions to the TV broadcasts are likely to be a lot less than that for individual customers.

So, throwing away history is ok? Taking even bigger step from what football is ment is ok? Understand.

I want the FA/Premier League to tell the clubs that they will be thrown out of the English football system entirely if they do this.

The angry pundits frothing will work for the broadcasters if the Super League if this gets the go-ahead. Mark my words.

It's easier said than done. The FA and Premier League loss of quality by banning top clubs and players will ultimately be the end of its pull.

Meh, I thought it would be a real leauge format. Not a CL 2.0.

The only way I can see this not happening is if the clubs are banned from participating in the domestic league or relegated to oblivion. It needs to hurt enough financially, its the only thing the owners care about.

And that statement on the clubs site, saying they do this for all of football, makes me sick. All that extra money, it will come from somewhere and it will be us fans that pays, one way or another. I'm so disgusted, outraged and scared.

I can understand that UEFA is viewed as greedy by the clubs, I think they are too, but when there is no qualification to the new league it's just pointless. It's not based on merit.

Obviously. Sky and BT are already bidding for telecast rights probably. While they allow all pundits to take it all out on their channels

Truth be told, AC Milan and Internazionale are no better than Everton and West Ham. Average clubs.

What irks me is they use the historical clout generated by Champions League success, to break away from UEFA. The very hand that fed these clubs for many years.

In terms of quality, the league will not be better than Premier League. It would take a few years for Italian clubs to catch up thanks to enormous pay check.

You are just giving TV rights money to Inter rather than Aston Villa though.

I can see the point for Italian and Spanish clubs, not sure what big 6 PL clubs' rationale is.

I’m wondering if Klopp will go at the end of the season. I feel like he might.

I really can’t be arsed with football anymore if this is where it’s going. We’re supposed to play Leeds on Monday and it feels so pointless now.

Would I be right in thinking these so-called superclubs just want more games and guaranteed income by forming this new Super League? Out goes the Champions League in exchange for the new format. Surely, they want to still participate in domestic competitions? Basically, these teams would have a massive squad competing for both domestic titles and the Super League.

If they don't nip this in the bud now they'll lose the 6 clubs further down the line anyway when the inevitable expansion of the Super League happens. I hear people talking about points deductions and relegations. No, that's short termist and not strong enough. They need to know they'll be thrown out.

I am not saying that. I said it in previous posts that this is a step too far. That particular post tackled the greed coming from the other side.

When I started watching football the EPL wasn't the best league in the world. While the Serie A had the likes of Maldini and Franco Baresi the EPL had Steve Bruce and Tony Adams. However there's no doubt that it was damn entertaining. Even the smaller sides played attacking football and they were proud of having special talent like Le Tissier, Les Ferdinand, Juninho, Di Canio, Ravanelli etc. The EPL was the place to go to watch entertaining football. Well that's long gone.

These days you know that if we're playing against a small side then we'll spent the next 90 minutes trying to break down a 10 men defence. Its frigging boring. The format is the same but football had changed. Entertainment had long gone and all we're left with are teams who would sell their soul just to keep on earning EPL money year after year. That's also greed.

Would you feel better if PL says you have automatically forfeited all coming games till end of season.
I don’t think I’d care. We won’t be playing in next seasons Champions League regardless of what happens now.

We might still face similar clubs but football had changed. Entertainment had long gone and all we're left with are teams who would sell their soul just to keep on earning EPL money year after year. It will be the same against Inter or AC Milan. Italian clubs are very bad.

They have been incapable in Champions League for many years now.

This might all be hot air and a veiled threat to FIFA, UEFA, FA, etc to reform and give the bigger clubs a larger slice of bread.

The Serie A had seen better days but Inter and AC Milan can still produce better football then the one offered by Burnley. However what I am tackling here is the mentality. When I started watching the EPL it was by far the 3rd best league in the world. United would have struggled to be a Serie A top 7 team. However each game was entertaining. These days most small-mid sized side will play catenaccio style just to earn that 1 point against the top side. That's frigging boring.

Not Burnley-level, but certainly Everton- or Villa-level.
