What a pointless exercise ranking post Fergie managers is. They all made a horlicks of it. Varying shades of rubbish.

All we need is a referee who lets Fernandes and Casemiro get away with some world class shithousery and we're golden.

City should be banned anyway. No other club is allowed to field a fecking goal scoring robot but somehow they've got away with it all season.

Unfortunately that’ll never happen as we aren’t wearing a scouse shade of red or sky blue shirts. It will be an uphill battle for us as always as we’re taking on not just the opponent but the officials as well.

Interesting that he thought our play from the back was one of the reasons we have been so bad away from home. He knows what's up with our goalkeeping situation he's just not saying it out loud ;)

Ten Hag's stock has fallen since signing, and continuing to use, Weghorst and to a lesser extent not dropping De Gea. Hopefully he will show his support of them was just him making sure the players he had to work with were motivated, before letting them both leave in the summer.
His penchant of reverting to same negative tactics as his predecessors, especially since the league Cup win, can be excused by working with what he has.
However, you only get away with that for so long.

Asked about reasons for not being good enough away from home he said:

One thing is clear, from the back we have to be better on the ball.

Thought this was very pointed.

Feels like an age since we've played a game of football.

It'll be good seeing a fresh squad for the last 3 matches. Hopefully this week ETH has taken advantage of the time and worked on a few things. Having Varane back again should help the build up play from the back and give Ten Hag a bit more stability in defense.

Mourinho over ETH? Not a chance. We played dreadful stuff under Mourinho. Yeah we won the Europa League but beyond that it was a terrible time.

If ETH wins the FA Cup and secures the top 4 this season, he is already outperformed Mourinho here...

Agreed. If not, I still expect him to be the first manager post SAF to have us play good football. Hopefully next season.

It is still early days. The way Mourinho won the Europa League was painful to watch, why would anyone want to recreate that type of football again? Horrible negative stuff.

Parking the bus and throwing his players under it.

I‘m not even going to talk about the inevitable breakdown after a few years.

The jury is still out on Ten Hag. We need a few more years to see what he‘s done, right?

So far: good start, very good if we get top four and brilliant if we win FA final.

He's probably not wrong but it feels premature to rate Ten Hag already.

Rangnick was obviously the worst, but he took over a complete mess and didn't get a transfer summer so it feels needlessly harsh to add him to the mix

I fear he’s being set up to struggle again next season. Should have a very good idea of his targets/budget for next year already. Classic glazers are hamstringing him. I’d take Kim, Kovacic/caicedo(no chance), Hojlund/Ramos and Frimpong. Bring Amad back too. Raya if available for cheap.

I do feel that given 3 full seasons he’ll get us in a title race. The sale is clouding everything at present though.

I stopped at Ole being above Van Gaal. I hated the Dutch but this is fecking ridiculous. One of them won the club a trophy.
At least for me, there are a lot more good memories from the games under Ole than those two combined. The most I remember LVG’s management is the game against Leicester and all the renewed belief from the players and the fans was gone since then.

I amended my post while you were replying. I'm not criticizing Ten Hag, I was just addressing the particular point that the points total compared to last season isn't a great metric for seeing improvement. Like I said, if he can build on it next year we'll know were really going somewhere. I think he can do it.
But the thing is, that was Ten Hag's starting point wasn't it. So I think it is pretty fair. Ole got that points total after what, 2 and a half seasons? 3 seasons? How many transfer windows?

Ten Hag is close to achieving the same within 1 season and 2 transfer windows, one of which he wasn't backed for, and he took the lowest United team in a generation to Ole's best work.

I do agree, we need to see how EtH builds on this. This time next season I don't want top 4 in question with 3 games to go.

He’s gonna struggle if the ownership situation isn’t sorted soon. We will end up getting 2nd/3rd/4th choice targets.

Honestly, if our scouting system is doing their job right there really isn't a big issue with getting 2nd/3rd/4th choice targets. There's enough players out there that we should have multiple options for the role that we want. Fergie used to regularly miss out on his first choice but his back-up options came in and were still great for us. Being completely focused only on one player is just asking for trouble.

In saying that, I believe we've basically ripped up our scouting system over the last 18 months and are still in the process of putting the new one in place (particularly the stat and database side of things), so not sure if it's at the point where we can find the right back-up options.

Yeah if that's the case then we will need to be patient with this new scouring system

Maybe in your eyes, but a lot of top clubs rate him highly and would jump at the chance to make him their manager if he became available. They also recognise that Man Utd are a shit show under the current owners, and given that context recognise what a good job he's doing.

If he wanted to do that kind of tier list, then honestly it would have been accurate to leave the current manager out of it and rate only the former ones. That's just weird.

Everything he's done in relation to Weghorst just makes me worry.

ETH’s WW fetish is beyond frustrating. He offers absolutely nothing.

For me, all the blind trust he earned till the Cup win, is completely gone. Too many idiotic decisions in too many games
I tend to agree. Weghorst is the worst United player I have ever seen (way below Bebe) and he is playing every game. It makes no sense at all.
