There was a loon in here the other week suggesting that Ferguson wasn't even that great of a manager, he only became a great manager because of United giving him time to develop into one.
Was just reading the article in Sky Sports about McKenna renewing with Ipswich, and they seemed convinced we were in for him. At the end of the article it said Ten Hag will be sacked if Ineos can find a better manager that is available. If that's the position then it's not a good look for ETH really, even if he stays.
It went on to say that, ETH thinks he's the right man and that if we don't get injuries and we can sign a CB, CM and ST then he believes we'll be better next season
No shit, Erik! I suppose you can draw some parallels between him and Pep after all.. both chequebook managers. Although at least Pep gets a high standard from his teams and improves players. We need all of this to compete for top 4.

I don't know. I think we'd play better football and City worse if the roles were reversed. I bet they'd not win half as much under Ten Hag. Pep is a much, much better coach. It's not even in question for me. Pep won the PL without a striker through adapting, so I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he'd fail if he didn't have everything he needed.
And let's not forget, it wasn't a full strength Liverpool we beat. We were missing 3 starters, as were they. Even at full strength they have been below their previous levels this season.

You cant judge by what fans say. Fans are fickle, before the FA cup all polls were for ETH to get the sack, we won one game and guess what in 24 hrs all polls changed. Just remember we had our worse season finish in the last 30 years, GD-1, record number of losses and finished last in an easy CL group. Also remember that thanke to VAR that ruled that goal ''offside'' against the mighty Coventry that we played a half drunk team last Sunday !! One game cant define a horrendous season simple as that.

I have no problem calling out ronaldo for his antics, but bigging up a manager that hasn't done a lot, to a player that helped us win so many titles doesn't sit very well with me.
I don't see how, they need to clarify things either way, and it's hardly a vote of confidence them not having it done it yet if he is staying.
I'm just waiting for the news of who is replacing him personally, not that he is staying.

Also going by your logic, ETH’s league cup win last season matters little because he faced “heavyweights” like burnley, Charlton and forest on the way to the final.

To be fair the majority of the people he's blaming have already left the building.
It's just typical stuff from him, he's ducking and diving and trying to deflect blame. Not long ago he said the "conditions were perfect" working with Murtough on transfers.

That's underwhelming, there is basically one remarkable campaign and the rest is on par or below par(especially in the EL)

I think its quite helpful that we get a inner look at his views on our future and where we're at currently.
Finally a sensible post. I personally don't believe it matters as much who we have coaching this team, we are in transition. Give EtH his ideal player profiles and he probably wins the league. You can say the same for a good few managers including the rumoured replacements. Getting a cohesive squad together is the only thing that will get us back to where we need to be, a backline of AWB, Maguire, Evans and Dalot isn't winning a league title.

A good summer for the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle, Spurs and Villa and I think we'll have our work cut out under Ten Hag. I'd have more belief if I'd seen us look effective against the different teams and tactics that we come up against throughout a season, but that's simply not been the case. And I think the glaring gaps in our setup and lack of control over games will continue, no matter who we sign.
And this is the sort of logic these guys are hoping Ineos listen to with the polls.
