I can't help but continuously take this as an insult toward SAF.
Yeah that's exactly what the comparison is

Mourinho was far better than Ten Hag and we didn't hear nonsense like "he deserves a chance under a new structure".
Disgusted with alot of delirious comments in this thread. Clearly so many posts are from non Utd fans who are playing Red Cafe.
Ten Hag is by far the best Utd manager since Fergie. You do not win 2 pieces of silverware in your first 2 seasons and having to put up with the chaos at Utd without having fantastic management skills.
I'm 100% behind him. Can you imagine what he'd do with decent backing in the boardroom and with proper football people around him.
Any wonder the ABUs and imposters on this forum are targeting him relentlessly.
When you put it that way...and also banked the club 80 million while our manager spent that on Anthony.
And applaud the manager off the pitch after we’ve just lost 4-0 to Crystal fecking Palace.

And we've never been close to relegation since eitherWe were never close to rnelegation under fergie, terrible bait.
Countless times over the years I've heard posters in here lecture others with statements like "we wouldn't want to be like those white handkerchief wavers at Madrid".One of the “secrets” of why we will never become successful like Real Madrid.
The fanbase prioritises sentiment and appearing classy over having expectations of excellence. In fact, many denounce such expectations as being “fair weathered” and “we have no right to keep on winning”.
He has conducted himself with class throughout his time here especially on FA cup final day which is reportedly his last match in charge for us. He can be as arrogant as he wants for us this coming week I don’t give a rats ass. We last won English football’s biggest cup EIGHT years ago. This makes us the most successful club in English cup competition history. He can say he’s better than Pep all week and I’ll be fine with it. It doesn’t change the long term decision making process but in the moment feck all this pathetic negativity. Trophies are meant to be savoured.
There is no denying that winning the FA cup gives ETH a huge boost.
I will say I've gone from must sack to I'd be okay seeing how he does with the last year of his contract.
His main flaws: Stubbornness, inability to make the right subs/tactical changes and bad talent recognition still remain though.
What's strange is how all post SAF managers were responsible for their own signings until ten hag.Because there was no hope or belief of a new structure existing at that time? What a strange point to try and make.
What?! That’s the biggest stick people use to beat Ten Hag with, he’s made awful signing that he shouldn’t have been allowed to make without oversight. From a lot of reporting he took on ownership because there was no structure, as did all of the managers preceding him bar the occasional Woodward special. Now there is maybe he can just be left to coaching. What's strange is how all post SAF managers were responsible for their own signings until ten hag.
I see no one has replied to this. This is the checkmate. Horrible system last season. What makes you think that with the same players the team would have played a particularly high line? And before someone make that point would you say that the likes of Burns, Lascelle, Schar or Trippier are speed demons?
God. Please ban any Sir Alex Ferguson talk from this thread mods. You’re staining his great name.Yeah, fuming here mate. Reminds me of the 80’s when we hired that Scottish loser. We were a top 4 team in all the previous 5 seasons before he came, and he took us to 11th, 2nd, 11t, 13th and 6th in his first 5 seasons, but had a couple of lucky cup runs so some people still defended him. Madness.

It’s awful. Should’ve just kept Moyesy instead then. Will always happen because Erik's biggest defenders bring up 1990 on giving a manager time

Where’s the structure at? ‘Cos I wanna talk to the man of the house.Erik just won a game someone go hand him a lifetime contract right now.
I'm not too good with tactics, but I will do my best to explain it.Why don’t you explain it?

ETH relies on good ball playing CBs and FBs to progress the ball up the field. Due to the fact how Ole and Mourinho had us set up, our back line isn't up to scratch. Only Shaw can do that. That why ETH added Martinez to the mix as well and that's why he also wanted Timber. Both of these guys were injured and our build up from the back started to immediately suffer.
The other piece to his success was FDJ. He was like a target man of sorts in the middle. If he was pressed he could keep the ball and bypass the press. If the opposition chose to sit deep, then he would find a way to unlock the defense either by carrying and releasing the ball in a dangerous area or by finding someone in a more advanced position. His vision was the absolute key why his first Ajax team was so dangerous.
In our current team there is nobody who can play that role. Eriksen is somewhat competent, but his passing is not as good and his legs are almost gone.
As a result, our passing is very poor in the build up phase as well as in the middle of pitch. Something oppo teams have punished us on numerous occassions.
I think if we were to add Todibo, De Ligt and Caquaret. That would improve our ball retention immediately. We also need to add someone who is more creative/hard working than Rashford and a more experienced CF that can deputize with Hojlund and we might be on the up here. If only someone like Cavanni was available right now to mentor Hojlund, we would be in a very good position

I’m always embarrassed to read the posts suggesting that if you don’t agree with something, you must be an impostor, opposition fan or some ABU tool. Such a simplification that adds nothing to the discussion, imagine if people were telling you that you’re a closet Pool fan because you want us to continue with a manager that took a healthy 7-0 at Anfield. Good god almighty, what absolute pish.
Mourinho won 2 trophies in his first season with United.
Teeing up an excuse if they land on keeping him I see.I hope they stick with their already completed audit and already made decision and then we'll see who has a problem.
Yeah, he also won 4 previous rounds in the FA Cup including beating Klopps all conquering Liverpool. Also beat Newcastle in last year's League Cup final and spanked that small club namely Barcelona in European competition last season.
Must be out of his depth eh?
No Premier League or Champions League though mate. Were you championing for his sack back then? Why not?
Well at least now you're acknowledging the existence of the loons on the "manager out" side of the discussion now.
No it's a fact mate if you think about it. Outside of possibly a few lunatics. If any United fan who thinks we should have a different manager it's because they don't think the manager we have is good enough, is the right man for this job or both.
indeed, seems to manage cup competitions really well. Wonder what Real would do to a manager that finished 8th with a negative goal difference though.
Ronaldo might be a prick but he achieved more at this club than Ten Hag ever will.

Not that I know if he should stay or not, but I don’t see what you’re getting at there.
Also lost 14 league games and got knocked out from CL from basically the easiest group we had. Let’s not pretend there are no reasons to doubt him.
