Would love it if he walked due to lack of backing and broken promises. Joel and Avram got way too comfortable having a yes man like Ole in charge.
Everyone agrees to give Ten Hag time. I would assume that would include transfers as well. But now, some are already panicking and asking questions and claiming this and that. We shouldn't be adding undue pressure on Ten Hag unless he is coming out and saying he is frustrated with the transfer situation. Right now, it appears more like people deciding how he is feeling and what he wants. Do we really know?
How is he not being backed? He’s asked us to sign Frenkie De Jong from Barcelona, that’s not an easy transfer and by all accounts the club are working on it.
Really hope he isn't afraid to call out the club for being terribly run if/when it's needed

I’m not saying it is, but if you think backing him means signing every player we need in one window then you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. De Jong plus two others and he can have no complaints given it’ll likely be an outlay of 120-135 million.

When you consider the context of what we lost due to the club being terribly run and Greenwood being scum you can't say this is a normal window.
The above would be a great window for building on a good Foundation. This team doesn't have that. Not even close.

Yeah and a big club like us should be working on multiple deals at a time with many options and not relying on 1 deal to go through for making other deals.
My assumption is ETH is very professional and would’ve communicated the list of players with plan A and B , either our board is really inefficient to complete the deals or the selling clubs making it difficult to strike a deal. I suspect the former is reason since there are whole new bunch of people working now.
5 good additions is a bit much to expect. The going rate for good players these days is like 50 million. You can’t expect us to spend 250 odd million in one window.
His number one target could cost 75 million and that’s obviously going to dictate which players can sign afterwards.

We have no idea if he is or isn’t yet. A single signing certainly wouldn’t show backing after the club finished 6th and lost 5 players for free
It won’t be a single signing though. You’d imagine our transfer plans if we sign De Jong will be different to if we don’t, given he’s going to cost 60% of our budget. And there’s no reason to believe he isn’t being backed, all of LVG/Jose/Ole spent big in their first summers.

Maybe that's just because we are poorly run. And yes expectations for spend should be higher when we have the worst squad we have had in a long long time.
Look at January. We spend nothing. Almost all our rivals improved. There are levels to football and while people make excuses about why we can't do things the simple fact is the club just aren't bothered to.
They aren't trying to get to the top again. Sure they'd like to but they are only hoping it magically happens.
Also there are often really good players going cheap or free. We never get them though as we are always miles being in the market compared to others.

And way more than 250m. We could actaully spend 250m this window if we spend what we nornally spend and then also use the amortised value of 50m savings we have made in annual salaries. It would still take 3/4 windows or did he say 2/3 can’t remember now

Yes he would, because this is not a lower table squad. It even managed to get into Europe under the worst manager in the clubs history and Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
If Ten Hag can’t bring an improvement on the dross we’ve been served up since December then he’ll unarguably deserve masses of criticism.
