This already feels like the summer of 2013 when Moyes came in. Worrying but we'll see what happens until August
First sign of trouble was when he started talking about a squad that finished second and improving them, the second sign was Rangnick leaving. This summer will be a complete cluster feck on the same scale as Moyes' first summer where he aimed to sign Kroos and Bale and we ended up with Fellaini.
New manager about to be let down at the first opportunity to sort out this club.
How is he not being backed? He’s asked us to sign Frenkie De Jong from Barcelona, that’s not an easy transfer and by all accounts the club are working on it.Would love it if he walked due to lack of backing and broken promises. Joel and Avram got way too comfortable having a yes man like Ole in charge.
"players confused by ten Hag's instructions"Can you imagine his reaction when he sees this group trying to do rondos?
EtH: "Rondos to begin."
Shaw: "Nandos?"

You can't be serious here?
Ten Hagg will become the first bald person to turn grey-haired.
Right…How is he not being backed? He’s asked us to sign Frenkie De Jong from Barcelona, that’s not an easy transfer and by all accounts the club are working on it.
I’m not saying it is, but if you think backing him means signing every player we need in one window then you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. De Jong plus two others and he can have no complaints given it’ll likely be an outlay of 120-135 million.1 signing is only replacing Pogba.
Still Greenwood to replace.
And then we need to get into replacing the actual shite players. Lots to do.
Just getting FDJ wouldn't be backing him in the context of what is required
Well that’s pretty ridiculousWould love it if he walked due to lack of backing and broken promises. Joel and Avram got way too comfortable having a yes man like Ole in charge.

Again, how is he not being backed?Right…

5 good additions is a bit much to expect. The going rate for good players these days is like 50 million. You can’t expect us to spend 250 odd million in one window.I think you very much could have complaints with that. 3-5 year rebuilds don't work anymore.
When you consider the context of what we lost due to the club being terribly run and Greenwood being scum you can't say this is a normal window.
The above would be a great window for building on a good Foundation. This team doesn't have that. Not even close.
5+ good additions needed if we want to really ensure we are fighting for top 4.
His number one target could cost 75 million and that’s obviously going to dictate which players can sign afterwards.Yeah and a big club like us should be working on multiple deals at a time with many options and not relying on 1 deal to go through for making other deals.
My assumption is ETH is very professional and would’ve communicated the list of players with plan A and plan B , either our board is really inefficient to complete the deals or the selling clubs making it difficult to strike a deal. I suspect the former is reason since there are whole new bunch of people working now.
We have no idea if he is or isn’t yet. A single signing certainly wouldn’t show backing after the club finished 6th and lost 5 players for freeAgain, how is he not being backed?
It won’t be a single signing though. You’d imagine our transfer plans if we sign De Jong will be different to if we don’t, given he’s going to cost 60% of our budget. And there’s no reason to believe he isn’t being backed, all of LVG/Jose/Ole spent big in their first summers. We have no idea if he is or isn’t yet. Day 9 of the transfer window and we're already at the "hope the manager leaves in protest" stage of absolute fecking meltdown
Problem is fans getting impatient is how we just end up signing bodies not the right players. Then the same fans will have another thing to moan about. We need the right players and it will not just be in one transfer window. The United Stand shared that murmurings have begun that Erik Ten Hag is starting to get a bit frustrated. Those murmurings probably come from the fans and media. So the negativity has already started without Ten Hag even saying anything?

No one does but you will constantly hear things like this.I have no idea what our budget is and what the club will do
Oh but they do. the truest thing Ralph said was that it will take 3-4 windows5 good additions is a bit much to expect. The going rate for good players these days is like 50 million. You can’t expect us to spend 250 odd million in one window.
And what happens when we sign De Jong and one other, two at most? Will you come down from your high horse (or rather come out from under the Glazers' desk) to admit you were wrong and we are not doing nearly enough?Mad isn’t it?!
Journalists, media outlets and one particularly shouty YouTuber have sections of our fanbase on strings.
And way more than 250m. We could actaully spend 250m this window if we spend what we nornally spend and then also use the amortised value of 50m savings we have made in annual salaries. It would still take 3/4 windows or did he say 2/3 can’t remember nowOh but they do. the truest thing Ralph said was that it will take 3-4 windows

In a sea of reactionary nonsense. This particularly stands out. Congrats for that.Would love it if he walked due to lack of backing and broken promises. Joel and Avram got way too comfortable having a yes man like Ole in charge.

And Moyes inherited a squad that had just won the title by 11 points. Ten Hags inherited a squad that's just had the worse season in prem history. It's looking like mid to lower table struggles unless Ten Hag is a miracle worker. There will not be one shred of blame on Ten Hag if United are lower table come next May. All this is on the Glazers. This already feels like the summer of 2013 when Moyes came in. Worrying but we'll see what happens until August
Yes he would, because this is not a lower table squad. It even managed to get into Europe under the worst manager in the clubs history and Ole Gunnar Solskjær.And Moyes inherited a squad that had just won the title by 11 points. I'll be happy to be proved a clown in the future if Ten Hag gets everything he wants. I'm worried that my supposedly hysterical post will age well.
fecking hell, having a totally normal one here
You don't see how bad decisions made previously might have had an impact on what we can spend now?No idea what previous appointments has to do with the current money available. So I will pass.
