For starters, I feel nothing but contempt for the Glazers. Particularly the trickle-down effect they have presided over which has consistently seen the wrong people, in the wrong positions entrusted with key decisions.
But I was reacting more to the way in which some supporters play their part in whipping up a frenzy by getting worked up over every if, but and maybe.
I am a little disappointed so far that I was expecting ten hag to be the type of manager that can spot a diamond in the rough or take a player with modest profile and propell them to another level but instead it's same old same old that we have seen with past managers of targeting unimaginative obvious high profile players that any football fan could spot as a good player

I apologize in advance if this sounds rude, but which organization do you work for where you are allowed to call out your bosses publicly without consequences?
I see many people making similar comments and lauding Rangnick for his "honesty". All I could think of is this guy's an idiot. You need to have a bit of tact when dealing with your superiors in every role and job. Once you recognize an issue, flagging it publicly is hardly ever the best course of action. I hope Ten Hag isn't that idiotic that he'll go out publicly picking fights with the board.
A few things to mention however are that he has not started managing the current team yet. So it is too early to say he can't propel a modest player within it to another level, perhaps Dalot or Garner for instance. He does have prior form of propelling players to another level such as FDJ, Tadic, De Ligt and Haller to name a few, so I reckon he needs a chance before judgement, based on his past experience. With regards to signings, he is not solely in charge, he can offer suggestions and make a veto but is a part of a committee than the one making the decisions.
As long as he does decent he'll have to power to call them out. They won't sack a manager who does better than the last guy.

Are you sure that united is a club where a diamond in the rough can be shaped into a masterpiece? With the fans disappointed with the new manager even before he has trained with the team, do you really think fans will let a diamond in the rough grow into a well rounded footballer? Not with the current state we are in. We need footballers who can go into the team and fit in there seamlessly. That cannot happen unless we target someone who has that profile. Unfortunately players who can fit into a new team do not come cheap and easily.
I have never seen anything like this on a football forum. I'm used to players joining the squad at the end of August after the first few games have even been played. Here people start complaining in June!

To be fair when United were dominant most of the transfer business was pretty much done and dusted before the transfer window opened. But hey that was the Fergie days. Now it's pretty common place for United to be signing players right upto the deadline.
We will unveil Frenkie de Jong together with the new kit, probably. I know people hate the marketing aspect but it's the bread and butter in this day and age. The money we pour into the transfer market has to come from somewhere.

I didn't cry, but this video certainly made me tear up a bit. Maybe because I grew up as a child during the late 90s and noughties and just brings back great memories watching the games with my Dad. Makes me realise that it's been such a long time since I've felt that sort of euphoria of winning the title.
Annoyingly, that video has made all this seem like a scripted film and that Ten Hagg is destined to take us back to the top in dramatic fashion. My expectations are ridiculously high now

That's the line the papers are taking. I'm not sure I agree. We'll always be able to sign players and there will always be players we miss out on but the way the papers are spinning it, signing for United is a bad career move. Sells papers and gets clicks/

I do wonder if we'll need a bit more physicality and running power in the team with the players we're looking at. My hope is he gets Fred playing very well because he is a player who can win the ball.

Question to those who know ETH’s system quite well: does he prefer traditional out-and-out wingers like an Antonio Valencia? Or would he start a playmaker such as Bruno on the right and left, with the fullbacks providing the width?
Only because of CL. Players are mercenaries, most teams can pay big wages now, the clubs’ brands really don’t matter (look at City) it’s all about money and if the player feels they can win trophies there. If you’re not in the CL it’s unlikely you’re winning your domestic title and you literally can’t win the a big European one.
I don’t think both ways is out of the question… I believe he likes width and his wingers to stay wide but then he’s also played tadic out wide who can be classed as a playmaker and one that is usually central. It’s going to be interesting to see what he does with that, but my guess would be sancho/rashford starting on one side and Antony if we buy him on the other side. I feel like he’s a manager that will mix it up a little though depending on the opponent.
I don't like the sound of that. We should have a gameplan with the intention of dominating teams. Chopping and changing is a big white flag wave.
We should play high as possible and look to dominate teams the way we did in the 90s. People make out like Liverpool invented high pressing but we were masters at it.
