Don't like his name either.IMO we need a better name surely. Who is that guy anyway? Never heard of him.

Wasn't that an obvious joke post?

Weather concerns. It's Moonsoon season in West Africa in July and that is where the tournament is mostly held. You can't host a tournament in such conditions.I'm the same, hope we never sign an African international. Frankly, I find the AFCON being in the middle of the season absurd and why is it every two years?
Could be the next anythingCould be the next Rojo...

Judging by City's experience with Yaya, Kolo and Bony I think you may be underestimating the absence.Ridiculous.
ACON lasts 3 weeks max, assuming the player's team starts and goes to the final. You're looking at 2 weeks on average at the end of January/early Feb. There's usually no CL, Carling Cup is the only major cup that's active, and the PL after the christmas period is somewhat quiet.
I never understood the bias against ACON tbh.
Anyway Bailly from the one game I saw of him at Villarreal (against 'Pool) he looked very good.
Yeah it's great that he's buying players even though he's Bailly had any time to settle in here yet.The most encouraging thing about this transfer, without knowing much about the player himself, is that it suggests Jose has been planning and maybe even working on transfers for a good while already. Really bodes well for the rest of the summer if we're able to settle 1-2 deals before the Euros.
never watch the guy(watched twice but didnt pay attention how he plays), watched the video from second page and he reminds me of Mangala, thats not good.
But the defence of Bailly and Daily sounds good.
These youtube vids show that he's a fierce tackler, very athletic with great acceleration. Still don't see anything in terms of distribution, aerial ability and of course, what youtube can't really show, positional sense.
Anyone actually seen him play a few games?
I saw quite a few good passes and a few times he even beat a player, you watching same videos?
I dont see the comparison other than race and size tbh. Much quicker and decisive than Mangala
Can't stop thinking about Christian Dailly every time I see his name. Do not want for that reason.
Will be good now other teams are after him.
While I agree with you a lot of people had heard of Martial before we signed him.Who the hell was Vidic before we signed him? Who the hell was Martial?

Hopefully.Anyone else think this means we've given up on signing Stones from Everton?

Well, we can assume that Rojo and Jones are not to be trusted, and Blind does not strike me as a Mou type of CB, other than 4th choice back up. So no, I think we are still interested but I doubt we can afford 40-45m when we also have other pressing needs (creative midfielder, pacy RW).Anyone else think this means we've given up on signing Stones from Everton?
That literally makes no difference to me, as much as I wish it would.you dont pronounce the L's ..its Bayee

The PSG defenders aren't gettable.I'd be honest, I haven't seen him, but 32m pounds for a defender seems an awful lot. It makes him among top 5 most expensive Defenders iirc. I agree there aren't a lot of options, but I think the amount is enough to try and tempt most defenders. Add a few million and we can get Laporte, and even Marquinhos. At this amount, Thiago Silva is gettable, maybe even Mustafi.
They are both African.Any relation to Gary?
I was actually quite excited about Manolas in the endLove this signing. Completely obliterates the Internet transfer forum experts who had us going after Stones, Manolas, LaPorte, Marquinos et al.
