I'm not his biggest fan but I think plenty aren't appreciating:

A) how difficult it is to beat a man when you're a fullback
B) How ridiculously more difficult it is on your wrong side.

Dalot can't be judged until he's back on the right.
Jfc, the lengths fan go.

What do you mean? What lengths? I just said I'm not a big fan. Have a read.

I'm talking about judging him here and now. He's out of position. You want to slate a right back whilst playing left wing back go at it. Seems silly to me.

Then have a think what other very good fullbacks would look like in the same situation. Gary Neville as a left wingback.

What was he doing on the 2nd Brighton goal when he just stood there staring at Minteh instead of closing him down, he gifted Minteh all the freedom in the world to play the cross that led to the goal?

He’s a mediocre player. His best attribute, generally, is his fitness. At best, he should be a backup.

He absolutely destroyed every attack he got involved by being his usual stupid self. He was definitely part of the problem.

He came inside on his dribbles too much and was tackled, and he didnt find much quality in delivery but he was also our main threat down the left which shouldnt be the case. Bruno and Mainoo should have done more to provide that

Guys help me understand this. Been watching us play for so long and I can't still can't wrap my head around why we keep on building our attacks through the left side with Dalot like as though he is some elite ball playing fullback or something. Bloody hell the guy is average like hell and looks pretty much like a mid table player.

I think its because Dalot is fast and energetic and can go up and down many times a match. Maz doesnt have the same level of athleticism. I do think Dalot while not perfect is now better on the left compared to 4-5 week ago.

Absolute liability in defense and never ever crosses to a teammate in attack. Squad player at best
Whenever he got into an area where he could have crossed, United had like 1 player in the box v 4 defenders.
Our strikers get drawn our wide only Amad goes in the box, Bruno is all over the place trying to do everything and the basics are missed. You need people in the box.

Because almost nobody else is making runs on the left hand side. Sometimes Garnacho will if hes picked there. Bruno doesnt want to run down the left wing to chase a ball and Mainoo might do it once or twice a match sneaking in on a good day. Dalot is willing to chase a ball over the top, or try to run the ball down the wing. Rashford might do it, Garnacho will do it some and Dalot will do it. Those are our only options and with Rashford frozen out and Garnacho not always starting, it falls to Dalot to pick up the baton and run a lot of the time.

Amad and Antony will make runs on the right. With Dalot on the left we dont have a fullback who is willing to make the runs on the right though

Because Mazraoui isn’t quick, at all. It’s a needs must situation.

I don't think he was bad. He was not great either. But it's sad that only him, Ugarte and Amad are the only players who have stamina and run.

He’s just not good enough and I’ve been on about it for ages. Every now and then he uses his physicality to trick people into rating him but he’s emblematic of our problems in that even the players with physicality are either technical bad and / or extremely dumb.

Are there seriously fans who think he's good enough for us? I'm 99% sure it doesn't matter if he's playing left or right wingback. It doesn't change the fact that he's a stupid player.

I hate when people post this stuff with no context (or, more likely, trying to get a rise from fans).
The context of this situation is in the replay, he's got a man outside and is also anticipating a ball through to Maguire's man. You can see when the pass was on, he was in the defensive line perfectly. The option to abandon two men and step up is fantasy, he can see both runners would have been onside.

For what is is worth I think Dalot is bang average, but this isn't an error from him. He also needs to play RWB (I have no idea how this isn't evident to Amorim) or not play.

If you want someone to blame, watch the full clip in the highlights. Their CB plays a ball into a midfielder in front of our entire team, Yoro and Mainoo are marking the same bloody player, Ugarte tries to get out to the runner and gets done too easily and they are running at our back line. This feels like it has been our issue since the dawn of mankind, it is so easy to simply burst through the centre of the pitch against us.

The whole defense was panicking at this moment; 2 centerbacks too close to each other, and Mitoma outmuscled our worst defending player on the pitch yesterday.

Man Utd 2:1 Rangers New
He should exclusively play on the right, whether it's RWB, RCB or benched.

He's not comfortable on the left, i don't know why Amorim doesn't see this?!

Not a good game from Dalot. Too many easy ball losses, and contributed nothing in attack. Can't wait to get a proper left back in.

There's games he comes out looking comfortable on the ball, and then the next it's like a grenade. Today was the latter.

Part of it is playing on his favoured side.

He literally couldn't put a ball right all night. Terrible performance.

If/when we do get good wingbacks I do wonder if he could play as a RCB in a three. He might be absolutely terrible there but I’m kind of curious as he does have some good attributes that might be useful there (speed, height, decent on the ball).

Offers nothing in the wingback role. Hopefully we get a natural left footed Wing back and someone direct.

Squad player. Not his fault he has to play on the wrong side as first choice. But still never should be a starter.

Guy is a fullback (preferably right one) and has to play as left wingback. Perhaps he could be decent as right wingback but for left side I hope we get someone in over next 7-10 days.

I actually think he’d be excellent there. At least for now. He’s quite good in the air for a fullback, and that RCB role is more similar to how he’d invert last year when he was good. Doesn’t ask him to create or contribute in attack but he’s solid as a progressor from those positions and is much better on the ball than any of our CBs.

There was one game under ETH where we played the last 25 mins or so in a 343 diamond with Dalot RCB, and I thought he looked like had potential in that role.

It's quite natural for full backs to get better defensively as they age so they become increasingly more suitable to play CB, if they have the height/physique. If we had a functional midfield and attack it'd be the sort of thing it'd be logical to try out against weaker opposition.

He’s not having a great season but is there a player in the league that’s played more minutes than him in the last 12 months? And in a position where he has to run more than most. As well as often playing out of position. Despite all his brain dead moments I’m inclined to cut him some slack.

Just a terrible player. Within the first five minutes you knew what type of game he was going to have. Sloppy touches right out of the gate.

Should be the last time we see him at LWB. Should be RWB at best with Mazraoui at RCB.
For the 1000th time, we don't have any left backs so Dalot has to go there as he's the only one fit who can play that position to at least a decent level sometimes.
