He’s frustrating in someways because he has everything to be a great fullback. Maybe today, getting in that position for the goal will kick something in in his head. I’d love to see him that high up because he’s a classy player. He definitely also needs to just kick and run in a Kanchelskis kind of way down the wing because he has the pace and power to do it

Did that really well at one point. Gave a defender a three yard head start and still left them for dead. Then passed down the line to Hojlund who… miscontrolled it into touch.

All season I’ve been stunned at the stick he gets on here while playing out of position. This is our POTY last season (or runner-up if you insist) and will either make it here or at a club that’s better than us.

Monster mentality, works his socks off (in training too, by all accounts), great influence on the younger players, and has shown he has the quality to be a high performer in a top side.

Said it before and I’ll say it again, if we give up on him then I’m sure Madrid would happily take us up on our lapse of judgement.

He’s been a fullback for a long time, we need to give him some time to adapt to wing back… high confidence in this fella

He's been consistently inconsistent; seems like a good lad but largely brainless and I would certainly disagree he's shown the consistent quality to be a high performer in a top side. Has the odd good game but broadly average at best.

Scored one goal and already giving it the biggun wait till you played 3 matches in a row without brainfarts then id believe you are the bestest of the world. You can be our dani alves if you dont do brainfarts

He is one of our more athletic players with good pace, decent height and stamina. He can also fill in multiple positions. As we get more comfortable in the Amorim system, I suspect he will play LCB or RCB and his pace will be handy so I think he has a role to pay. As a a left sided wing back, there is room to be desired clearly but I think he has a role to play so I back him 100%.

He's got decent physical attributes but imo he's not up to the standard required. He makes too many stupid decisions and mistakes. I really hope he's not called upon to play as part of a back three any time soon.

Yeah it's crazy, it can't be overstated how tough that role is for someone who isn't a natural left sided full back never mind wing back.

He has no one in front of him on the wing to help out. All our best fullbacks have always had help so suddenly we're not only asking an out of position player to defend solo we're also telling him to carry the attack down the left.

I don't think he's been good enough for what we need as a LWB but people need to recognise and appreciate how he's got his head down and worked at it.

Man Utd 0:2 Crystal Palace New
As usual, he gets the ball and everything dies.

Thread makes me laugh. All his defenders pop in in the 1/10 games he plays well and start talking about how athletic, fast and reliable he is.

Absolutely garbage footballer. Plays like he has a broken brain. There was a moment in the first half that summed him up. Mainoo played a nice ball into him and instead of running in or shooting, he went for a return pass that Mainoo never made.

Absolutely spot on. Don't rate him defensively, don't rate him going forward. So stamina, versatility, availability, being a good lad mean absolutely bugger all to me where he's concerned.

When he threw a throw in out for a throw in, when Hojlund had snuck in behind the defence, I thought: "Yup, that just about sums him up today."

I struggle to understand how a player can be so habitually brain-dead. That throw-in summed him up perfectly.

Exactly: having stamina, being a good lad and showing versatility used to be the basic requirement of a United player. In fact it was a given. Now we give credit to this absolute dosser for such basic things.

He shouldn’t be anywhere near playing LB again. Open to trying him over on the right given how poor Maz also was today. Every good opportunity to cross it in and he turns back because he refuses to use his left foot. Infuriating player.

He plays passes into teammates that put them in immediate danger. Otherwise has been very poor. Perhaps one of the worst performances I've seen this season personally. Brought nothing upfront nor at the back.

Poor game. Had so many chances to build up play but missed most of them. Hopefully he'll get a chance on the right now, although we've been saying this since last year.

I can promise you that a club bigger than us will never try and sign him.

Terrible moment today when he inexplicably ducked a header. It should have been a Palace goal.

It shouldn't disguise how poor we are collectively at defending crosses, but that was a particular 'highlight'.

He is an oxymoron of a human being.

Comes out well spoken and thoughtful player in interviews, but plays like one of dumbest players on the planet. He, like many of the Utd players, can’t seem to pass or shoot or make the correct decision on a consistent basis.

Sometimes you watch him and it's like he's deliberately trying to sabotage a football match, I refuse to believe someone can be that bad.
