I get being supportive of one of our own, the second foul is 100% a yellow. It is was completely unnecessary to go to ground there, after a bad touch. To do this when you are already on a yellow and given the referee’s being very free with the cards, it is bordering on insanity. I will given him the benefit as the occasional error is greatly outweighed by the players upside.
Amorim does need to give him a proper scolding on Tuesday.
Good points. My frustration with the way games are officiated now is it’s automatically assumed it’s a card if a player slides in. Looking at the replay the Arsenal player jumps over him and I don’t even think contact is made or if it is it’s very minimal. No contact being made should factor into any decision.
If this was any other fanbase, we’d be putting most of the blame where it belongs, on the referee. We’re very harsh on our players.
Neither was a yellow card.
Because the Arsenal player had to jump over him to avoid his stupid lunge they think it's not even a foulHow are people saying it wasn't a second yellow?!? It 100% was a yellow. He dived in and missed the ball.
Don't like him as a player, never have, never will.
Moments like today prove just why he needs to be sent packing. Absolutely brain dead.
To be honest i dont think you like many
Does he?I like Dalot though and he plays well in the wing back system.
Oh no... this stuff is starting to spill over to more and more threads. Being one of the best of a bad bunch doesn't mean a lot. We don't gain points or results for playing against ourselves.Moment of madness but some are going way overboard. Casemiro and Scholes made a career of getting stupid reds. Gerrard once got sent off against us within 10 seconds of coming on. Shit happens sometimes. He's still been one of the best players in our team over the past few years.
That is true. But then it's not really a surprise that we're going further and further down the table when the quality of our best players are at this levelMoment of madness but some are going way overboard. Does he?
I mean, obviously things are subjective but it is really interesting to see the different scales different fans seem to apply. I am not laying into the player because he played somewhat out of position and he doesn't get much rest but describing him as playing well is certainly not what I would describe him with. He is not total crap, mostly average, okay'ish. Thats my point. But on a scale where what he showed for Amorim has been "well" how would you describe it, had he made two own goals and individual mistakes leading to goals and penalties and us being a man down? Would that be "a little subpar" or "not as good as usual"?
He played really good last week against Liverpool. But thats about it for this season. Also him looking like an average PL player isn't something one should be criticized for. It is still an achievement. But depending on your ambitions you'd still have to ask for more. We are just witnessing where such type of following can lead to, looking at Shaw. We should do everything we can to avoid that again.

Fair enough and each to their own. I think, he hasn't adapted well to his position at all. Playing on the left probably a factor but I wouldn't give extra points for being mostly average just because he didn't play in his favorite position. Also, he did play half a season for Milan as LB, didn't he? Also making un-smart decisions probably isn't something that depends big time on the side you are playingHe's been playing in this system for a little over a month and has adapted better than most, despite being asked to play on the wrong side much of the time. Mazraoui is settling in to the right wing back slot and Dalot should be his competition there once we have found a LWB.
In the first half yesterday the only goal kick that Bayindir didn't punt out for a throw in was a lovely ball to Dalot, who somehow managed to be offside as a Left back from a goal kick. It is completely braindead stuff from him constantly.
He does all the basics to an acceptable level so gets through games, but if we are being honest he wouldn't get in to any of City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc's starting line-ups
I don't see the second yellow as a mistake. It was a 50/50 ball he had every right to go for and the Arsenal player didn't get there before him. Absolutely miserable and cowardly refereeing decision.People here are really crazy. Super critical of our players who made mistakes in game.
Agree. That’s the common act we normally see from Liverpool, Newcastle, and many other teams. Dalot misjudged a little bit and his right feet is a little bit above the ground. It’s nothing malicious as well. Referee decided that way and was absolutely miserable.I don't see the second yellow as a mistake. It's a typical heavy touch and panic dive into a daft tackle combo. Definitely a mistake on his behalf, whether or not it should've been a second yellow can be argued about separately.I don't see the second yellow as a mistake. Ah.. come on, no victim complex. Both fouls were clumsy you see yellow for stuff like that more often than not. In both instances, I thought, thats going to be yellow right after it happened.Agree. I swear this is one of the reasons our players are so completely and utterly brainless, every time they get a card it's the refs fault. Never do our players get held to account by the fans for their stupidity, it's always the referee's fault or the opposition players fault.
Bruno got 3 reds this season and somehow was blameless in all 3 of them.
No wonder they go out and do the same dumb shit over and over.
It's 2 textbook yellows. Dalot is just incredibly stupid.
Always a foul nobody should argue that but it was never a yellow. It's a typical heavy touch and panic dive into a daft tackle combo. Definitely a mistake on his behalf, whether or not it should've been a second yellow can be argued about separately.
Yeah but he’s pretty down in the list of priorities to upgrade. That is true. But then it's not really a surprise that we're going further and further down the table when the quality of our best players are at this level
We’ve already upgraded on him when we signed Maz.Yeah but he’s pretty down in the list of priorities to upgrade.
