So many harsh critics here for a lad being played out of position every week.

Now having to deal with playing out of position while trying to learn a new system.
Judge him back on the right.

I would have thought he would be suited to a wing back role, given the talk a while back itt

Arsenal 2:0 Man Utd New
Not sure what he’s contributed at all in these wing back roles, but he’s clearly not the solution there.

I'd be stunned if he still occupied one of those spots at the start of next season.

He's like a bundle of nerves on the ball.

He 1000% shouldn't be in the first XI next season.

Dalot will end up as an useful player to have on the bench. I think he is too much of a right back to fit a role in this set-up.

Why is he not taking his man and putting crosses into the box? Especially as right wing back

Everything dies when the ball gets to him.
Terrible footballer who has some athleticism but we can't criticize or else the "he was our best player last season" brigade will be all up in arms.

I've never been a fan of Dalot. The conception was always that he wasnt as good defensively as AWB but better going forward but i just dont see it. I always see him as a very unintelligent footballer. Almost like sometimes him brain just stops working.
I no he has played mostly on his weaker side this season but even in his strongest role, he should be the first player we upgrade in the summer.

Having Dalot play a half on one side and the second on the other isn't ideal. I think he's on record as saying he feels comfortable doing either in a run of games but struggles with the initial switch.

Is that really the case?

Well none of our players did, until Amad came on and Dalot went to the left. They all got towards the opponents box and then even Bruno was passing the ball backwards as we were pressed, all the way back to the goalkeeper. Even Garnacho who would ordinarily dribble until he can shoot.

Dalot actually had our most shots in the match with 2, which were both off target and despite 1 of them being half a yard over and wide wasnt exactly close to scoring.

I think it stems from how ungraceful AWB's style is. People make out he cant attack, despite him making more dribbles than Dalot or Mazararoui (1.8 to 0.6 and 1.5)

Dalot has sort of the opposite problem. We've seen he can take on a man and beat him. We've seen he can put in a good cross. We've seen he can take a good long shot and score a goal. We've even seen he can play some nice passes, especially some long passes to Bruno

But how often does he do any of those things? Not often. We know he can, he looks comfortable on the ball, but considering the talent we know he has the actual amount of moments where he does any of that good stuff in attack is minimal and thats why he doesnt have as many assists or goals as you might think if you were to watch his highlights and be given the impression of what he can do from that. Because he has the ability to do a lot, but most games he does little going forward.

I think he certainly switches off defensively with runs behind him and isnt the most alert and quickest to react in general. But he's a bit better in the air than a lot of right backs who are usually smaller and win less and hes mobile enough to keep up with a a lot of wingers

The one thing we can say he's ahead of the rest of our players with is this

So he completes the most sprints/high intensity runs at the club

Certainly looks that way.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the last time he looked real quality was when he had a run of games on one side. He's perceived as being versatile but I actually think he isn't at all. The chopping and changing has had a terrible effect on his form.

He was somewhat of a non entity for the first half. Actually our whole right side was as it seemed everything just went down the left. But when he switched sides he had two cracking opportunities to play Rasmus in who had made 2 excellent runs in to space and for whatever reason Dalot ignored them. One was when he took a shot on but the better opportunity was the ball to Rasmus and it wasn’t even a hard ball.

As someone else above was saying. He has bundles of talent and can do a lot of things really well but just doesn’t do them enough. He can beat a man, he can put in a cracking cross and he can shoot but he doesn’t seem to do any of them that often.

Not sure he can actually do any of those things at a high level. how many goals and assists does he have in his time here?

Maybe I am wrong, but eye test says that Amad should be on top of this metric on a per 90 basis. Amad simply played much less (courtesy of ETH).

For sure being picked each week is going to be the main reason someone is going to be able to top the list

I think even on a per 90 basis, Dalot would rank quite respectable along with perhaps Garnacho.

If anything, playing each week and ranking this high should be largely seen as a plus (regardless of what you think of his performances are). There was a stat where he started every game (60+) from last Christmas up until last week or something. High intensity runs is not something you accumulate purely just from playing, it shows at least an objective athletic 'effort', many of which our other players cannot put a claim to.

Agree with this. Form and clearly confidence has took a battering. Maybe a bit of burnout too. The other catalyst I think was the open goal miss against West Ham, he was not quite himself before that but has dropped off a cliff since. Looks so uncomfortable on left, taking uncharacteristic heavy touches often, making risky passes infield and body shape often wrong like when Dibling won the penalty off him earlier in the season.

People have decided he isn't a quality player and last year was a once off but to me there's clear mitigating factors and he will bounce back.

Man Utd 2:3 Nottingham Forest New
I will drive this clown to Madrid if they want him.

Brainless player, whose only use is that he can stay fit unlike our other fullbacks.

Just a phenomenally braindead man. You can guarantee at least 3 or 4 stupid moments per game from him.

Among others, not good enough

Judge him back on the right.

He is not good, never was, never will be.

He has to be the stupidest player to ever play for United.
The pathetic long range shot at the dead while he had 3 options for pass was peak idiotism.

That performance will stick out as one of the worst I’ve seen from a fullback on the ball. I have no clue what managers see in him.

It was a miracle he lasted 45mins so feck knows how he finished the game.

He also thinks pretty highly of himself taking stupid shots from far out.

an average player having a below average game. I think with amad making the rwb position his, dalot won’t be a starter next season once we sign a new lwb

Physically he has everything to be a top full back, but he's got the footballing IQ of a donkey

He needs dropping, performances are awful.

The stupidity on him too an impossible shot in the first half, an impossible header in the second and then a pathetic shot just as the crowd cheered the 7 minutes added on.
