Neither him nor Mazraoui should be the left back option long term. Both are better on the right.
He seems to favour one attacking WB and at Sporting they were basically wingers. Wouldn’t be surprised if Garnacho is one of them.He's been shocking this season. Badly needs a spell out of the team just to get a break if nothing else. Even without a LB available, I'd almost move Martinez there for a few games and Mazraoui to RB. Or Lindelof to RB and Mazraoui to LB, for a few games at least. Just to get Dalot out of the team for a few weeks.
However, with Amorim coming in and presumably reverting to a back 3 with wing backs, I don't see how Dalot would be dropped. Lindelof and Martinez could probably do a job at full back for a few games, but not at wing back, where our only realistic options appear to be Dalot and Maz (unless he tries to convert Antony to a LWB!)

If we start with say a zirkzee then I can see him being our player to stretch the opposition as an inside forward. But the way sporting have played is their wing backs are extremely high up the pitch. They probably get up and down the pitch as much as Garnacho does anyway.Garnacho is one of our biggest goal threats. I doubt we move him futher from goal.

Maybe it's just tiredness (physical, mental or both), as some of the basics of his game have been really off. His workrate seems to have dropped off quite a bit and he doesn't have the urgency to get back and put in the last man tackles that saved our arses countless times last season, and there's even been quite a few times recently where he doesn't look anywhere near as fast as he normally does. Hmm, actually that makes me wonder if he's carrying a bit of an injury. Haven't heard anything about one though. He really doesn't seem the type to willingly become lazy.

As usual he's typically been hated by a section of the United fanbase since becoming a regular here so he won't get credit when he's playing great (last season it was like pulling teeth trying to get people to compliment him here) and now that he's had a few poor games he's "never good enough".
Side note: there's a part of me that would like to see Amorim convert him into a DM here. He's not going to give enough output attacking wise to be a true wingback, but part of me thinks he'd make a great DM with his mobility/two footedness/ ball carrying/defensive ability. Would be an interesting experiment because I've never thought the way he sees the game and his best traits suited being a standard fullback.
