You’re making my point for me… 3G, 5A as RB in a team with a piss poor attack that scores as few goals as we did last season.

If you think that’s the kinda stats from a right back that big teams look at, then quote me when he makes the move to a bigger team.

Comments about why is he getting stick, one of if not our best players last season, athletic, good attitude etc....

i feel the opposite, evenwork colleagues who arent United fans rate him......Bissaka got loads of stick his whole time here, Dalot is "improving"....

What? He has been here nearly seven seasons now, last season is his only decent one. He does have a good attitude and physical attributes....thats it though.

He is inconsistent and constantly makes slack decisions with the ball at both ends, is average going forward and pretty weak defensively.

People worried about the likes of Madrid coming in....I pray for it! He is one of the most sellable players, didnt cost a fortune, relatively lower wage. Yes he is playing out of position but he is a porr right back and an average wing back. Quendah would be a huge upgrade on him.

He is one of so many over rated players here who get lauded when they have a half decent season that generally have been inconsistent and mainly poor under several managers

Watching him is so frustrating because he's talented and has good physical attributes, but he plays like he's concussed half the time. Like a worse, fullback version of Nani.

I've been saying this for some while now. We gotta sell him asap. He will get us a good sum and we get rid of a player who doesn't offer us anything offensively or defensively.

And don't get us a teenager like Quenda who just had his first season and will need time. Get us a professional who has played on top level for years, such as Hakimi (unrealistic), Frimpong, Bellanova or Vanderson.

All season I’ve been stunned at the stick he gets on here while playing out of position. This is our POTY last season (or runner-up if you insist) and will either make it here or at a club that’s better than us.

Monster mentality, works his socks off (in training too, by all accounts), great influence on the younger players, and has shown he has the quality to be a high performer in a top side.

Said it before and I’ll say it again, if we give up on him then I’m sure Madrid would happily take us up on our lapse of judgement.

He’s been a fullback for a long time, we need to give him some time to adapt to wing back… high confidence in this fella

He's so great that the mighty AC Milan got him on loan and decided to return him, because surely he was destined for the spanish vultures Madrid or Barca.

Bro wake up

I think the biggest worry for me is how often he takes a horrendously heavy touch. It got him a red card the other week but he seems to happen near enough every game now.

I had the perception he was one of our better players technically and one of the few players who I could see in a possession based side, but his game looks a mess at the moment. You could probably make the argument to keep him around as back up because he's a good athlete and can cover both sides in an emergency, and maybe he'll improve when he gets to play on his natural right side consistently. But wouldn't be majorly upset if we sold him at this point.

I can’t see much future for him as a wing back, I’m sure there would be a market for him and he’d generate some profit. Surely he is someone who will be up for sale in the summer, if it helps fund a move for Quenda it would make a lot of sense.

This is great, you guys all shooting yourselves in the foot with nonsensical arguments…

Milan finished 2nd the season of his loan (with Dalot featuring regularly) and tried to sign him after his loan - he turned Milan down to stay. This is well publicized - even a cursory google search and you would have known this.

And all of that actually missed my original point entirely, which is that he was OUR (not Milan’s) POTY last season and is an excellent RB who I think could become a solid RWB once we’re able to start playing him there. I could be wrong! Maybe he can’t make the transition from RB to RWB, but whether or not he is a good LWB at this moment (he’s not) is moot to me when I think about his role long-term.

If Dalot leaves in the next window or two (and I hope he does not), there is not a shred of doubt it will be for a club that’s better than we are right now - and I expect it would be to a top side.

I actually felt he improved slightly last season at RB but has definitely gone backwards this year.

He’s clearly not the right fit for the new system as 80% of his passes are backwards.

Switches off too much too at critical moments. Maybe a decent squad player but shouldn’t be anywhere near the first 11

Dalot is proficient in most of the basic aspects of play, but he has no exceptional skill. A good squad man at best.

The more I watched Dalot, the more I realize Dalot is actually very weak on his techniques. here is the list:
  • His first touch is not steady
  • Always has to slow down to receive balls
  • Never able to play one-touch as he has little vision or awareness of his surrounding
  • More often than not give ill balls to teammates and kill the momentum of transition plays
  • Crossing is pointless and ST hardly find a chance to fight for , and tend to over hit
  • dribble is more hit-and-run and sometime lost balls because of a loose touch during the run
He has good physique to stay fit and able to win One-on-One , but not at elite level ; but his technical just simply too poor and makes him a below average EPL player overall

Give me a list of all Right Backs in the league who you think are much much better than Dalot.
