Rejected by Juventus and Bayern. I am sceptical. Might be outpaced in the PL.
CBs being done for pace happens so much more rarely than people think. It’s just not something they’re exposed to.

Might stick on some Sean Paul to celebrate this.

“Jus’ gimme De Ligt, next to Dalot”

He’ll be quality for us.

Won't happen but martinez as a 6 in front of the other two would be interesting
Please no. Can we just play our best centre back at centre back? He's absolutely not a midfielder, despite being comfortable on the ball for a defender

I'm a big fan, but can he play in a high line?

He played in a very high line with Ajax in 18/19 with very attacking fullbacks (Mazraoui, Tagliafico), Daley Blind next to him and Schone and De Jong in front of him..

Martinez, De Ligt, Maguire and Yoro sounds like a strong selection of defenders to me, hopeful this will be a really good signing.

De Ligt ok, Mazaroui is a crock
Mazraoui is great. Can play left and right and has a very good balance between offensive and defensive capabilities. Bayern has too many right backs. We lost Pavard and loaned out Stanisic - and then had an injury crisis in which we bought Boey from Galatasaray in a winter transfer. And Kimmich was brought back from midfield to right back when Kroos decided to come back for the national team. Now Stanisic is back after playing very good in Leverkusen, there is Mazraoui, Boey - and even if Kimmich plays midfield again we have Laimer who will not get much playing time in midfield who is good at right back, too.

Maguire and strong shouldn’t be in the same sentence. If we want to win he shouldn’t be part of the team. Thats the harsh truth.

Nah, he’s a good player. Dependable and experienced, I think we’d struggle to find a better squad player.

He was comfortably our best centre back last season. He's more than good enough as backup.

Pretty good price, let's hope he gets his career back on track
He's had one season at Bayern where he wasn't a starting centreback. Won cups and leagues in Holland, Italy and Germany and is 24. What is there about his "career" he needs to get back on track?

Massive upgrade to Lindelof so that should be good. He looked quite good against Arsenal and even against Madrid.

Yoro, Martinez and De Ligt looks promising on paper.

Bring in Hermoso and it gives durability in the event of an injury crisis.

Can't see why the club would intend to keep Maguire however, with Evans behind (who performed decently last season) he should be surplus to requirements but it could have been a shootout between him and Lindlelof with Victor being selected as the outlier to leave.

Being pushed out the door for barely half the price they paid. Something mustive went wrong somewhere

Even Bayern Munich understand now that we are not run by bloody Woody anymore. This is excellent business by Ineos. Fair market rate, nothing more nothing less. Most importantly we have now changed our image of getting rinse by every clubs

It's been discussed quite a few times here but I think the narrative he was a bust at Juve really stuck around (I heard it then, I read it now) even if the reality is more nuanced and the expectations were crazy high (not unlike Maguire : Monster fee & big hype).

Some people seemingly take him changing clubs a lot as a sign he's not convincing anywhere. I think it's a little slanted because he rose so young. Wouldn't be looked at the same if he exploded a few years later and moved to 3 major clubs at 28-29.

Good luck to him. Wish him the best. Always liked his attitude towards the game. You can tell he’s in it for the right reasons and really enjoys it.
However I remain skeptical wether he will ever take that next step necessary to justify the fees and wages he commands.
