'The Munich police are investigating Matthijs de Ligt on suspicion of hit-and-run.'

We should be running away from this eejit, and passing up on Mazraoui, also.

Haha we sure know how to pick em

To be fair investigating doesn’t mean guilty

Get Hummels on a free for a season and revisit end of season, Im all for not panicking and taking our time to get the right players but it really is starting to become a worry on how paper thin we are in defence.

The transfer window doesn't end this weekend.

Would be funny if the witness was one of the fans who signed the petition for him to stay at Bayern

He “allegedly” rammed into a parked car. Its not that scandalous for Bayern or De Ligt to make a statement.
Rammed is a ridiculous term to use as well, he has probably hit off a car pulling out of a parking spot and driven off, like thousands of morons around the world daily.

Yeah, rams a parked car is prime journalism.
He's clipped a bumper probably.

My thoughts exactly and probably everyone elses as well.

Couldn't care less about that case, but hopefully it makes Bayern want to get rid even more and accept a bid
Is this the equivalent of throwing chairs around?

The young ones today find new ways to get heard

Too old. We have signed enough old players and got nowhere

Tah is 28 years old. Leverkusen want 25m for him and he's on 43k a week. If we double that salary then we're looking to around 23m as total salary which makes the deal around 47m give or take. De Ligt is 24 but he's injury prone. Bayern wants 45m for him guaranteed (minus add ons). He's on an eye watering 258k a week but rumors say that he is willing to lower his salary to 190k a week. If we give him a 5 year contract then we are hovering around the 50m mark in terms of salary here. That makes him a 100m+ player (fee, salary and add ons).

Characteristics wise Tah is way faster (35.81km/h is super fast) and better aerially wise (1.9 aerial duel won vs 1.8). In terms of passing Tah is inferior in almost everything apart pass completion.

I think that Tah represent far more value then De Ligt especially considering that by the time Tah kicks the bucket career wise, Yoro would be in his prime.

Why don't United just go for Tah?
Because he is nothing special

Nobody has wanted him 12 months ago for his 18 million release-clause......he was a decent player in the last 7-8 years but always far away from a top club.

Of course he was very good last season but the reason was surely about the whole squad......players like him, Xhaka, Grimaldo and few others have played about their actually level......the only world-class player in their team is Wirtz.

The media are hilarious. Hit and run is usually used when describing someone being run over.

This is failure to stop and far less dramatic of course. Still an idiot for doing it but IMO should stop us pursuing him. He isn't going to jail for this, in spite of what bedwetters will say.

Almost as bad as bank robber De Gea stealing a doughnut.

If United ever get the deal over the line, it's probably best they put his parking space away from Rashford's. :smirk:

I wonder what the United Seg will say about it. Surely the German police are conspiring with the English media and our former players to get ETH sacked.

You'd like to think this deal collapsing would mean more money to spend on a half decent midfielder.

Get a loan with obligation deal for Ugarte or Ederson, and find a cheaper centreback.

I hate people like that. Your car is insured, just leave a fecking note you moron.
Arriving at your car to find it smashed up by a spoiled idiot millionaire that just drove off. feck that. Must be a massive twat.
Might have not even noticed. Fahrerflucht/Hit n Run is used in German no matter how strong the contact is, could have just been a slight bumper scratch like others have suggested.

We ain’t signing anyone els until we sell players by the looks of it. Need to sell AWB for another RB. Need to sell Mctominay for another CM. Need to sell Lindelof for another CB.

Yeah and get Rabiot, don't care what the majority think about him in this forum either as can do a job

Our fault for turning his head.

Points deduction I reckon.
Driving on the left side with his head turned is no way to handle car. Get him out of his misery, Bayern, and let him go.

I am done with this window now, we needed a CB signed for the game tomorrow but no we will happily muddle our way until deadline

Duncan Castles: spoke to a director of football at one of the elite clubs in regards to De ligt going to Utd.

De ligt is apparently superb on the ball, great character, a leader. However very slow in the first few yards against a mobile quick attacker. Probably his biggest deficit.

Doesn't make sense to have him and Maguire in the same squad. Question as to whether ETH is pushing this rather than INEOS new appointments in the management change.
