De Gea - Fiorentina watch

A below form or declining de Gea is still worth more points to us than a lad who can't save and who plays in a system that doesn't suit his play.
Lads, behold a post that:
  1. Doesn’t know ball
  2. Fails to see the irony
  3. Makes emotional argument

DDG is/was the best shot stopper/impossible chance saver the world has ever seen.

BUT

He was weak, couldnt dominate his box, couldnt come and claim corners/crossers and had poor distribution. He also had high profile feck ups in him, so his latest Insta post was stupid and small time.

At DDGs age, Onana is the better GK replacement we needed.

Why does everyone assume the tweet is about ETH? Not that I really care either way - DDG is entitled to his opinion.

Does anyone even know what that emoji means?

You'd have to be an idiot to post that today and not realise how it would be picked up.

As someone who’s probably the fourth or fifth most proficient Italian language understander on the caf, I can confidently say that hand gesture isn’t something to express happiness or agreement.

I thought that hand gesture was just the default mode of communication in Italy

Don't get what the emoji means, and as such wouldn't enitrely rule out it being a reaction to the breaking news that his former teammate Rodri won the Ballon d'Or rather than ETH being sacked.

But if it is about ETH, who cares? De Gea is allowed to feels slighted at the way he left the club (even though moving him on was ultimately the right call). Not everyone has to like each other.

I assume the emoji means he’s expressing his happiness about something, it’s like a chefs kiss, it’s approving of something.

That too, especially when the passion goes into it and they sound aggressive to onlookers. But ain’t none of them doing that to express genuine satisfaction. All that said, still unprofessional of Dave’s part to make a cryptic tweet, despite whatever he was trying to imply, and insert himself into the spotlight.

The guy was the most well paid GK in the world, cost us a EL final and many more games and was retired by his NT at 29 years old. Thankfully both him and ETH are not in our payroll anymore.

To be fair you’ve disqualified yourself here old chap with the phrase ‘doesn’t know ball’. It betrays your American heritage in which ‘proper football’ is considered a girls college sport and what you call football is glorified egg chasing, thus rendering your knowledge of the beautiful game flawed at best. Lots of love, signed Uncle Englishman. ;)

Most people who want United to do good, celebrate today.
Ridiculous. Nothing to celebrate. It is same people who wanted us to Lose games and they call them self fans. Same people will be all over next manager as soon as first lost game.

Exactly. I find it funny that people think that just cause Ten Hag got rid of him, it was a bad decision and its related to how Ten Hag is at his job.

DDG is not good enough to keep for teams wanting to play the modern brand, the fact that he doesn't get into the spain squad tells you something too.

Florida was originally a Spanish colony, and last I checked, Spain won the Euro final. Our state flag has diagonal red stripes which illustrates the effectiveness of playing the diagonal passes and runs. Ball is in our blood!

Sigh. What's that cryptic tweet supposed to mean? Is he revelling in the fact that ETH is gone? If so, why can't our players be a bit more professional?

If he didn't feck in up the EL tie against Sevilla or in the FA cup final against City he would still be here. Got rated to an extent where he was the best paid GK in the world even if he wasn't anywhere near that level for like the last 3-4 years.

Shows you the mentality he had as a player, why he was never chosen as a United captain.

He was messed around at the club, offered a contract then taken away. Can’t blame him for being annoyed.
He left the contract on the table and went shopping - how is that the club messing him around? The club, for once, actually did the normal thing, they offered him a deal, he took the piss and they pulled it.

Where was the evidence he went shopping around? The reports were they offered him a deal, withdrew it and then offered him a lower wage. There wasn’t any evidence at the time that he was shopping around.

Player power is real. When they don’t get their own way this is how they act.

Sancho has posted a bye hand on instagram. Varane liked the sacking tweet. De Gea with a cryptic post. They’ll be more no doubt. Bruno posted a classy tweet however.

So what happened with the Glazers then?

We began negotiations months in advance but did not reach the levels he wanted, this was widely reported by all outlets. He then, many months later, supposedly was ready to "accept" the offer (though we apparently never actually gave him a formal offer as he, or his agent, had rejected whatever we were proposing) and offered him a revised deal, which he then turned down.

In the months of between him saying 'no' and then subsequently changing his mind last minute, it's a stretch to believe he or his agent didn't shop the shit out of the deal they thought they would get.

That was not the reports I read. It was widely reported we offered him a wage and contract, he didn’t accept it for whatever reason and then we offered him a lower wage at the end of the season. I find it hard to believe he was shopping around when he didn’t even sign for anyone for a year despite receiving Saudi offers. I don’t know why he didn’t accept the first offer and clearly a delay on his part but he certainly wasn’t expecting it to be withdrawn and then a lower wage offer. He could have been waiting until the end of the season to decide or just think about it. The treatment of him was widely criticised by many at the time irrespective of whether they wanted to keep him or not.

Yea, I’m not sure why they believe the club or the manager owes them anything or they were treated unfairly, as their reactions suggest. All three were compensated very well during their time here, even while we were struggling. The moment they were let go—something any serious club would do with an overpriced and under performing asset—this is how they respond.

Sancho needs to look at himself at why he has lost his place at Chelsea with only 4 games in or why Varane is not playing any football this season or why De Gea spent a whole season out of football all the while being a free agent.

It's a single emoji, think some of you need to get a grip.

Players aren't obligated to like the manager, and he's not here anymore so he can express something the way most fans are at present.

ETH has been called every name under the sun and hated by posters in here, but then the same posters loose their shit because a player ETH pushed out, tweets something.. Go figure

The real question is how Daily Mail have run a story on a single emoji and chose it to lead their website.

Touché! (Although you’d still probably be happier if it was called the Budweiser Euro World Series or something!)

I bet we'll find out at some point that the tweet had nothing to do with ETH, or even football for that matter
