Gaming Cyberpunk 2077 (PC, PS4/5, Xbox One)

Aren't their PC ports usually better the consoles ? I remember when Witcher 3 was released everyone was saying the console version is a mess but the PC one runs very well. I played PC version and it worked like charm, but it wasn't at the time of release though, few months after it iirc.

I won't have nearly a month of Christmas break in two months' time so tough luck, CDPR. I'm going to play your fecking game whether you like it or not.

(they probably don't care all that much about me, do they?)
Right now I'm just trying to pass time before I get to play this broken game.

Played some Red Dead Online for a bit, but while I was looking through my collections, some guy came up and hogtied me (I play a female character), then carried me to a room at an in, untied me and started blowing kisses at me. Then he defended me when some other player started attacking me. I guess I have my first internet boyfriend/stalker.

Yeah, PC is their lead platform, and console versions are ported from that.

It’s running pretty smoothly on my PS4 Pro. Am at the combat and hacking tutorial right now. Really enjoying it so far

No idea mate, don't even know what that means  quite impressed with how I've avoided most details about the game!
Hahah ah fair enough that’s probably for the best. Anyway it’s Corpo, Nomad, of street kid for what that’s worth haha. I’m sure you will find out in 2 mins!

Godammit steam, the game is out! Let me play it!

I'm going to headbutt GabeN right in his stupid face.

downloading 3~ gigs of something now on Steam. Well, I say downloading but its not actually moving or doing anything. I assume Steam's servers cannae take the strain. Guess I'll come back and check in an hour or so, see if any progress has been made.

If steam reports high disk usage, it's probably decrypting (if you pre-loaded)

Ahahah, just saw an interesting NPC on the streets, essentially quoting Monty Python

It was a street prophet talking about how people’s fathers in the future will have borrowed cyberdecks and forgotten where they put them

I thought it would play and feel a lot better to be honest! Even with it being in backwards compat mode.

Image quality mode looks alright but doesn't feel nice at all. Performance mode seems better but not perfect 60, and the graphics aren't impressive at all.

Not far in though so gonna pick it back up tomorrow. Controls feel clunky but I know many said that for Witcher too. I'm hoping the world and missions impress me once I get stuck in.

I may be completely off the mark here but I thought that hypersexualisation was part of the ‘cyberpunk’ culture hence why a game about it is going to follow suit with that.
You are probably completely right and Im out of line calling it out because of that fact but it still bothers me that we have this happening today. Having complained about that so far I still think its been a good game ignoring the bugs.

Have to say i'm two hours in and it looks very promising. Playing it with headphones on is great for the kind of music I've encountered so far. I spent about half an hour or more on character creation though and I got pretty mediocre results (probably my fault). Playing as a Nomad male. Have a feeling all three paths will be a lot of fun and different experiences.

No bugs so far but very very early days. Very excited to see where this goes.

Played the first hour or so as a nomad, seen a couple of momentary graphical glitches and one or two audio stutters so far. Running nicely on high for me as well, which is a nice surprise though we'll see what happens in more dense environments.

Otherwise, this feels amazing.

Played 3 hours, no bugs aside from very minor graphical glitches. Unfortunately I got a random game crash. Oh well, time for bed!

Loving it so far, it looks beautiful and is a lot of fun.

Anyone playing it on Xbox One or PS4? If so how’s it running? I’m nervous about the fact that they only allowed review copies to be released on PC. It makes me think the console versions are a mess.

Have the same question if anyone can answer. Planning to buy it today so that I can play over the weekend. My second playthrough can be the more bug free version but I can't resist getting into this!

My PC has an old 1080 GTX card...I also have a PS5 but I decided to get the PC version anyway....I am a little underwhelmed with how outdated the PS5 is already even compared to my 5 year old PC hardware (minus ray-tracing).

Some quick thoughts:

* Game is gorgeous and has an insane amount of detail I've never seen in any other game...ever

* Good enough amount of cars on the streets I guess, but even on the PC version I don't think there are enough NPC's walking around...considering how densely populated the city is supposed to be.

* I felt a bit overwhelmed with everything that going on at first when playing the game. It's certainly a different take on an RPG. Honestly I feel this genre suits the Witcher/Elder Scrolls games more

* This game seriously stresses my PC out. I'm running medium settings, no Ray Tracing at 1440P and I'm cracking about 30-40 FPS and sometimes slowing down to even 20 when driving....

* Story doesn't seem as good as Witcher so far. Best story I've played in recent years is easily Yakuza 0

* Driving and shooting mechanics are awkward. I can up the aim in settings, but then it feels too forced. On low it feels strange...doesn't seem to be a good balance for me here so far. Maybe I'll get used to it.

* The random NPC's are lifeless and their AI seems dumb. No better than the pedestrians on GTA V to be honest. Thought for a new generation it would be somewhat more immersive in that respect.

* Voice and movements are quite stiff looking

* Sh!t ton of bugs. Even the obvious bugs right from the get go

Anyway this isn't a review, I need to invest more time into the game. Seems promising so far, but i feel sorry for those on PS4/xbox as I don't know what stuff they are cranking down to even get it running on that tech. This game really needs a lot more horse power behind it.

Oh and last thoughts, Cyberpunk really feels like Shanghai in some respects. They must have taken inspiration from Tokyo and Shanghai. If anyone is interested I can post some pics of Shanghai that reminds me of the Cyberpunk game.

Happy gaming

I’ve watched a couple of video compilations displaying bugs/glitches etc. It looks like a complete mess. Fallout 76 levels of bad.

Anyone who has played a few hours experiencing this?

Well there is one benefit to waking up to a howling puppy at 5.30am, it's now ready to play on Steam! Surprisingly only a 60gb file size when installed.

Think I’ll leave Nomad lifepath for the next gen update next year - just need to decide over Corp or Streetkid now. No work shall be done today...

Mine isn’t going to arrive for some reason it’s in Preston which is nowhere near me, why use 48 hour Mail when you know Royal Mail are struggling! :(

Well, I had one crash already

But apart from that, two hours in it's running smoothly on the base PS4. Looks decent, too - obviously not as good as on high-end PCs but then I didn't expect that either. Did the full combat tutorial - I'm not going to do much shooting, that's for sure. How on Earth can people aim with a controller? I've yet to play a game where that's fun to do.

Underwhelmed, is an understatement.

Sounds good. I'm buying this today for my base PS4!
