Copa America 2024 - Argentina Win

Is it both fan base that's acting up or is it just the fans of one particular country?
there is not much info, the reporter said they weren't allowed to film outside. But according to the videos shown in twitter, there seems to were mostly Colombians at the start, but everyone got in the mix eventually because of the mess it became.

The game should be suspended. It’s a disgrace. People running, Colombian fans trying to get in the stadium without tickets. Images of people and kids crying. They delayed it for 30 minutes and now everyone is getting in, with or without tickets.

Garnacho, Acuña and Mac allister families are outside trying to get into the stadium.

game will start 45 minutes late they say, but I don’t think it will since the players aren’t even warming up. Players are waiting for their families to get into the stadium.

United States security is a shame. Apparently CONMEBOL demanded a couple security rings to get into the stadium and the locals said no: the only security will be prior to the stadium access.

I’m so mad I don’t even care.

It problably won't, but this should be suspended... this is not a party anymore.
If this happens in a club venue, the local club would be punish heavily... hope something happens

Yeah, ticketless fans showing up to games really isn't a thing here. In some cases, fans show up to tailgate but never attempt to enter the stadium so this is a new thing for us. Agree, this is a big warning for how we handle world cup security.
yuh, feel America is the one country you never hear about shit like this happening in which can breed complacency. It should be easily rectified by the World Cup you’d hope. Just have armed police lined up outside the main entrances and no fecker will have the audacity to try and rush the gates with that staring them in the face.

a ton of people who don't have tickets trying to break through gates and jump fences to get into the stadium....unreal

Call me crazy, but the fans could try, like, not being chaotic assholes

It’s a big “be careful what you ask for” too, if you really want to see American police crowd control

Now delayed to 9:15pm Eastern, what an embarrassing mess… even the Colombians on a nearby balcony to mine have quieted down

Announcers here saying that the tournament is still being run by CONMEBOL. Their security, their protocols, etc.

the ticketless fan are obvously to blame, but security have to be ready for it... people with legal tickets is being punished.

Sounds like a point of no return to me. Surely the game cannot go on anymore if that's the case. It's a security risk more than anything else.
Yups

Two year suspension for Nuñez it is then. And three games for Casemiro while we are at it.

If that’s the case, then the police & security on hand were handed a poisoned chalice

Mac Alister helping his family get in rather than warm up apparently

Friends that went to see the final told me they have been on the stadium since 4 PM local time. Good for them.

The people that tried to enter without tickets are a shame and doesn’t represent us.

Really security is to blame, Conmebol asked for 3 security rings and the organizers just had one.

Yeah, I'd be looking at the protocols that allowed these crowds to form in the way they did.
it's been reported that conmebol asked for three security rings, but was denied, so the people crowded at the staduim gates.
I guess there will be a lot of blame flyling around...
CONMEBOL is who orginizes, and USA is the host, both are to blame one way or the other in my books.

@Dr. Dwayne @Carolina Red this is the standard protocol I'm used to for high risk games.

There's an exclusion zone with additional security rings so it doesn't get overcrowded/unmanageable if there's an incident at the gates.
