Casemiro (out)

I was hoping the one positive I would have from this Jan window would be Casemiro's sale to Saudi league. If this doesn't happen, its not a great omen for our outgoing transfer business.

Would think he is more likely to go to MLS.

Best case is that he leaves for free and the wages come off the books.

Once again the ridiculous salaries given out inhibit our ability to offload.

Seems to have gone quiet ? He is not getting game time either so wonder what’s going on.

He's not played since Newcastle game. Don't think he'll leave this month but Amorim will probably use him more in 2 Europa League games coming up.

Its surprising that Saudi clubs arent rushing to buy Casemiro.

I wonder if its an issue with the funds drying up a little with their mental infrastructure plans or down to Casemiro's recent performances?

Saudi money drying up is a hot take

Give him a proposal. We give him half his salary until this summer if he leaves for free. Then we can spend those 150k a week on someone else and he can get new club and they can give him a bit less salary.

Having him on the bench week in and week out is just plan ridiculous. His third in the list of top earners in the premier league.

We doubled his salary from his prime days at Real Madrid.

I like Cas but he needs to go. He doesn’t even get in as sub anymore.
Guys worth 70 million, yet happy to take his wedge and see out his contract. Tbh I don't know why those privileged enough to be able to play top class football are not more driven by a desire to play actual games. I'm sure he could scrape by on a much smaller wage elsewhere and get paid multiples of what other people do. Just seems wrong to me.
Glad those who dished out such contracts are no longer in situ, what an awful decision.

Saudis can pay him a lot less and he’d net about the same as here, because of taxes. They don’t actually have to match the salary he is on here.

It makes a lot of sense and he’d do well there, it’s walking football.

Still another season on his contract after this too. If someone doesn't come in for him he's the deadest of dead weight.

Another one we cannot move on. A real problem for the club and manager. He might waits until his contract runs out ffs

Was it ever confirmed that he refused to be on the bench for the cup final last season? Amrabat’s brother was saying that, from memory. If any truth in it he should have been fecked off asap.

Getting him and Antony off the books before the end of their contracts for as small a hit as possible is going to be a real challenge but it makes a huge difference if it did happen. Supposed you have to include Rashford in there because of his wages and length of his contract contract as well.

Yes but we've seen a pattern of players wanting their cake and eating it. Wanting a golden goodbye from us as well as the improved terms in saudi.

:o:o:o:lol::lol::eek::lol:

I did not know that. What a joke of a commercial team

An exit for him has been so quiet that it speaks volumes.

He won’t be leaving until the summer or right at the death of the window if someone can get him nearly paid for fully by us.

We are unable to bargain as we hold no chips.

I can't wait until we reach a day when we have a squad without a player we overpaid for, performing terribly on huge wages and unable to move on.....

We really have been moronic in the transfer market

We need a miracle to shift Casemiro I think.

This one is going to hurt and we have several of them. I think we will end up giving him away on loan if Saudi guarantee to pay all his wages. Not ideal but half a loaf and all.

Yep, fecking infuriating the sheer incompetence of the likes of Woodward and cronies. Yet they’ll likely spend their lives rewarded for it all with wealth.

I know we want to recoup some of his cost but it ain't happening, I would drop his price right down or just let him go on a free, better than paying his wages, and no guarantee we can get shot in the summer, especially if he has not played a lick of football between

Yeah I think up to £10m would be great. Well not miss him for the rest of the season.

if he’s genuinely not going to play then he should just be looked at as an expense. An approx £27m expense until the end of his contract. Lose him on a free and you are still £27m better off.

I had no expectation that there ever would be a fee, but now it appears the only possibility of him moving away is for us to pay off some of his contract...only at a club like Utd this happens time and again. Fans suffer for it, but the owners absolutely deserve a lynching for the decisions the repeatedly make which does such significant damage for incoming managers.
