I think most players would rather play than not play. But outside of Saudi I’d imagine no one would pay him even half the wages he’s currently on. I guess it depends how much he wants the money, and how much he wants to play football.

I don't think I would either. A mate of mine worked HVAC out there in the 70s and 80s. He was thereabouts when Helen Smith died. He reckons it was a grim place even though he made enough dosh to put down on a new house.
