Cardiff City vs. Manchester United

Snapping at rightback unless hes injured. Its going to be physical.

Have we seen Moyes use Rooney as the furthest striker as of yet?

Could be wrong, but I'm almost certain he did it once, with Kagawa playing behind. I remember the caf going crazy because for however long we did it we looked superb, and saying that we should start the same combination next match.

But just to be clear, I'm only suggesting it because RVP is out.

Sociedad at home for the last 13 mins after Hernandez was substituted. Also short spells during Man City game when Welbeck and Rooney interchanged.

"This game has a historical importance for the Manchester United fans. Exactly 60 years ago on this date, legendary figure at the club, Duncan Edwards made his debut for the club against Cardiff."

Last 15 minutes against Real Sociedad home. We looked okay, hardly superb.

I hope Hernandez plays today as he should be first in line if RVP is out. Kagawa gets his games from the left as part of the first team. Hernandez has to wait until RVP is injured or needs a rest to get a game and the guy consistently delivers when played.

Really excited for this game. Feels like it's been ages since United were last on.

Yeah, these internationals are getting tedious. On the other hand they do make you appreciate club football more when it's on.

I'm hoping for a good throttling today. I hope we play at a high tempo and run them ragged. We shouldn't be too concerned about Carrick's absence for this one so I'm not too fussed about what the midfield pairing Moyes has chosen. Well, if it's Fellaini and Giggs I might hang myself but otherwise I don't mind. I think we should go all out attacking today. feck it, a Cleverley and Anderson midfield, that's what we used against Arsenal in the 8-2, right? Surely Cardiff won't be a problem then.

Cardiff will park the bus ,and try and frustrate us ,but will finally crack. 2-0 United.

If rvp and Vidic are both out, but Rafael is back, then I'd go for...
DDG
Rafael Evans smalling evra
Fellaini giggs
Valencia kagawa januzaj
Rooney

Or if Rafael is also out, put nani at right wing and Valencia at right back.

Took me a little while to work out what the match record stuff was in the OP. Was like that isn't our fixture list

Looking forward to the game. We better win though, otherwise the lack of sleep will make tomorrow really crap

I hope it's merely a saving him for Leverkusen job. Odd that Moyes mentioned Carrick and Vidic but didn't speak about RVP in his presser.

Rafael Evans Smalling Evra
Fellaini Cleverley
Valencia Rooney Januzaj
Hernandez

Could easily be Kagawa behind Rooney up front, or Giggs in centre instead of Cleverley.

Anything less than a win will be awful. Our rivals haven't slipped up, despite the somewhat tricky fixtures.

seriously though, this is a game we should definitely win.
Arsenal, City, Liverpool and even Chelsea arguably have all had tougher games than us, and apart from Liverpool drawing they've all won.

I'm worried about today's team selection.

Quite possibly, we will be without all of Rafael, Vidic, Carrick and Van Persie. I think Rio will play and I don't really want him in there.

Have these injuries been confirmed, Carrick apart? RvP has been injured in every match thread for the last 6 or 7 matches .

Rio will be fine if he plays. Important that he is give a chance to find his form this season

Rio's usually fine when he plays every second week. His poor run at the start of the season was because he was playing every game IMO.

I think I'd prefer Evans and Smalling, but nothing against Rio starting.

Apparently him and Vidic haven't even travelled though, so a bit different.

Would've preferred to see kagawa behind Rooney, happy with Hernandez though. When the feck is Rafael going to be back, we need him :(

Confirmed #MUFC XI v Cardiff: De Gea; Smalling Ferdinand Evans Evra; Fellaini Cleverley; Valencia Rooney Januzaj; Hernandez. RVP injured

I always thought MUTV would be the first to reveal the team sheet and they still haven't. Would have rather seen Nani play.

Lindergaard, Anderson, Giggs, Nani, Young, Welbeck, Buttner on the bench.
