He really has. Historical beatings, getting outplayed by relegation fodder. Portugal has under performed with him.

The common denominator is Bruno and his all or nothing shite.

Yes he creates chances, but how many chances are created for the other team when he tries hero ball or gets muscled off the ball?
He really hasn't though. And to say that 'the common denominator is Bruno' when we've had terrible coaches and a slew of awful signings and dreadful squaddies is utterly moronic.

Even before his red , he was absolutely gash. Literally got targeted by Wolves players cos they knows he’s soft as shite. Doesn try and protect himself or the ball. He sets such a terrible example as captain time and time and time again. He’s been one of our better players over the last few years, though feck me that bar is low. But I do dislike him as a player and genuinely wouldn’t be sad to see him go nor would I ever class him as a club legend.

And Amorim needs to stop playing him in the ten role. He can’t protect the ball, he can’t run, he can’t dribble, he can’t play in tight spaces. Stop fecking playing him there.

The second one was questionably a straight red

I agree that it was questionably a straight red. In that it was never, ever even close to a straight red but if a red had been given, there would have been many questions

Studs up into the shin of another player. We've seen players go for similar

There's no world in which that first yellow was even close to a red. Give over.

original poster clearly said "the second one". and they're right - it's arguably a straight red

Pretty interesting that Sporting improved when he left though. He is the footballing equivalent of Russell Westbrook, an inefficient stat-padder who makes it impossible to win consistently such is their profligacy with the ball.

Think it's sad that so many people will rewrite history about his time at United based on his bad run of play. For years now he was far & away our only good player who gave it everything. It's pathetic for the fanbase to turn on him so quick
Quick? Seriously? Have you just started watching us? Bruno has been awful for the best part of three years now.

It was always people like you who used to come here with the stats book trying to tell us that our eyes were wrong. Well now that his stats have also died, it’s easier to see why he is such a huge problem even for the non technical folks who liked his chaos ball style.

But don’t worry, fans at OT will still sing his name when he comes to take a corner that will 9 times out of 10 never beat the first man.

Both yellows arose from him being dispossessed with United in attacking positions.

He loses the ball, gets frustrated, doesn't have the speed, athleticism or flexibility to win the ball back cleanly so ends up giving away stupid fouls.

I'm ready for the club to move on from him. However I'm fearful now that Amorim will fall down the same rabbit hole as Ten Hag and make Bruno his talisman, especially with the Portugal and Sporting connection.

In what sense? That he was slow?

I’m more surprised he doesn’t seem to think about things
Yeah, if you look at the tackle it’s not like just misses the ball and is unlucky, he simply isn’t winning it but (assuming he doesn’t want to get sent off) clearly thinks he will. It’s like his mind thinks he’s quicker than he is.

Bruno has pissed me off royally but those little weasel posters using it as an opportunity to go after the fanbase deserve fecking off themselves.

He's piss poor in possession and is incredibly weak physically. Not to mention how slow he is and just lacks the intensity to play in one of those 10 positions. Appreciate what he did for us in those 2/3 seasons but we should sell him while he's actually worth something.

Stupid emotional players who are on their way down don't win you games. I laughed at Arsenal when Gallas had his meltdown all those years ago. Bruno has one every couple of weeks.

2nd part is important. He’s often been one of our worst players in many big games even if it’s ended up with an assist

He's the biggest single contributory factor as to why we're so shit in big games and have been for 3 years+

Between the tantrums, endlessly flicking the ball to opponents, losing the ball needlessly in our half and his inability to read the game and calm things down when needed. Panics when we're winning and throws the toys out when we're losing.

I have no idea who Russell Westbrook is.

He just lacks composure. It's weird, for someone who's so good at penalties but in game he just doesn't have any form of composure. And it gets worse when we're under pressure or we're a goal behind.

Another outing, another sh*tshow from our captain. This guy is often compared to the likes of KDB, Ødegaard, and some of the best attacking midfielders in the world, yet he’s nowhere near their level. One of the biggest issues with our team’s inability to maintain possession stems from him. For someone with such a high reputation, his basics are appalling. His first touch and physicality are so poor that it’s baffling our players even pass to him in dangerous positions. He loses the ball 9 out of 10 times in such situations.

What’s even more mind-boggling is how he’s managed to survive under every manager he’s played for. He’s always the first name on the team sheet! Anyone with a basic understanding of football can see the subpar standard he brings to the game. Honestly, I wish he’d been given a straight red today at least that way, we wouldn’t have to see him in the lineup for a while.

Bruno you’ve been our best signing since the fergie era, at times unbelievably good for us but it’s time to go.

Sell to Saudis and put a hard to refuse offer in for Florian Wirtz. Do it!

It could have easily been a straight red.
I don’t think it was a yellow. For what it’s worth I think Bruno giving the ball away is the biggest issue and one many reasons why I’ve wanted him out for over a year.

Yes he was great and spectacular when he arrived and for a few seasons. But football is about moving on once a player has lost his ability or his style of play no longer suits where you’re looking to go.

I’m absolutely fuming with Bruno tonight.

He’s the club captain and senior pro. To get such a ridiculous and clumsy second booking less than five minutes in to the second half whilst playing in their third of the pitch is completely and utterly braindead. What a terrible example to set.

His disciplinary record this season is awful and even if you query the first card, and some of the others this season, at what point does the player himself realise he’s on a tightrope and act accordingly?

Away from home with a ref giving nothing. feck off Bruno.

Damn. Bruno really messed up.

Amorim should know better than anyone that selling Bruno was the reason Sporting got back to winning titles.

He plays because you haven't had anyone better to play ahead of him. I think a fit Mason Mount easily benches Bruno but sadly not sure it ever happens

Yep, some upset people on here tonight which is understandable.
But if they think we'll be better with lightweight wingers in the centre instead I don't know what to tell them.

Remember this?

I would add our "captain" into this quote.
Oh definitely. He’s been a horrible, horrible captain. Always has been. Always will be. The The silver lining of his immaturity is that we’ll finally see the team without him. Was never getting dropped or rotated anytime soon.

I think Ruben cannot wait to sell him and reinvest the funds. The truth is that we need to move on from a number of players but far too many have little to no value whereas Bruno does have enough of a reputation that there would be takers if he was known to be available. not a massive fee maybe but not the peanuts we often end up selling for. Ruben won't do anything to damage his value until he goes but I am sure he is fully aware that there is no room for Bruno in his preferred system.

Pros: great work rate OOP, great vision, good creator in the final third, good attacking movement

Cons: slow, weak, poor on the ball as a dribbler, inconsistent technique, rash decision maker

Just don’t think you can ever have that many cons and be considered anything close to world class, regardless of stats. Yet people chose to anoint him and the club made him the main man

His weaknesses are only getting more apparent and can no longer be covered up by him scoring or assisting. Very weak, slow, zero press resistance and awful at tackling. We can't play any good football with him at the heart of our midfield or playing as the left sided attacker. He's an instant weak point for opponents to exploit because he can't keep the ball or outrun anyone these days. So easily bullied off the ball as well. We should certainly be planning on selling or just make him a useful sub. Shouldn't be captain either. Terrible leader.
