Controversial opinion.
Bruno starts for every side in world football. Hes too good not too.
Nothing controversial about it, he’s brilliant. United and Portugal’s best player.

That's a good point. I remember when Suarez scored a similar one vs Norwich and people were rimming him for weeks afterwards. He didn't get enough credit for the goal he scored against Liverpool.
I love Bruno, but he doesn't start for City, Real Madrid or Arsenal. Well maybe ahead of KdB for City now as he's going down a bit and has more injuries.

Watched them against Ireland. Thought Ronaldo was decent.
So did I. And I reckon I would look decent playing up front against the current Ireland side.
that's fair. Probably not the best opposition to assess his current level. The goal was a neat finish though.
That game should, however, put all the worries about Bruno and Neves playing together to bed. Brilliant partnership
Pep loves to convert players and mix things up. Bruno would start very often for City.
Arsenal would play Rice, Ødegaard and Bruno and I think it would work really well.
But I agree that Bellingham, at least after this season, would send Bruno to the Real bench.
Neves would be such an amazing signing for us. Now watch us balls it up.
It’s a one off game versus a team who play quite a specific way + I think Pep is often a bit average in knock out games in terms of reacting and adapting, he likes to think his style will win out no matter what.
We didn’t play great in those games though. Newcastle we were ok I guess but we’ve seen the false 9 a number of times apart from that as well as Bruno on RW and I’ve never been convinced by it. I feel like maybe if we had 2 truly elite wide attackers like Salah/Mane it might be ok but it’s just not what I think is best for us as a team. That's how he started in last few games against Newcastle and Brighton when we won both games.

ExactlyWe don't have elite wingers either.

Yeah I don’t know why he didn’t start Doku and, arguably, not start Haaland given he always struggles in big games. Also should have swapped doku to dalot’s side given AWB being RB. It shouldn’t take a whole half and going 2-0 down to see it ain’t working.Pep did figure it out in the 2nd half. They were far more effective when he subbed in Doku, it was just too late. It was still a great tactical plan from Ten Hag and the coaches and an incredible effort from the players to hold on to the lead after the halftime adjustments against a far more talented and deeper squad.
My Euro fantasy captain comes down to Bruno so hoping he scores and assists a bunch
Imagine how much control they'd have if they didn't play Bruno! The possession stats are clearly rigged. No way Portugal has 70%. We all know no team can have that much possession with Bruno playing!
Thought he played well. Created some of their best chances.
Seen a few digging him out. I feel like I must be watching a different game. Thought he played really well.
Don't get me wrong, I thought he played well but dominating possession against Czech isn't the type of evidence needed for that argument. The possession stats are clearly rigged. No way Portugal has 70%. We all know no team can have that much possession with Bruno playing!
It may not be the best game to feed that argument, but the Portuguese team is a good proof that Bruno can of course work in an dominating team, that's not dependent on counter attacks. You can afford your most creative players, that will create a couple of chances every game, to loose some balls.Don't get me wrong, I thought he played well but dominating possession against Czech isn't the type of evidence needed for that argument.
That said, I don't think the set up was particularly good for the team. I think if you take out a CB and Bring in Palinha, that's a much more balanced set up for them and it would be interesting to see how Bruno does.
I am sure, Peter Crouch wouldn't have looked too bad at tiki taka Barcelona. The question is, do you still get the best out of him. There aren't many reasonable people thinking he will just burst into flames in a possession side. But his strength during his time with us have been speed of thought, vision and ability to quick execution. Those strenghts found a very good environment in our transition-heavy playstyle. Maybe he would flourish in a more controlled setup as well, but he may as well look a little restricted and it would emphasize some of the bad sides of his passing - we just don't know. Lets hope we'll get some actual input to work with next season. I kind of doubt, that ETH will go that route though. At least not to the same extent many fans would like to see it.It may not be the best game to feed that argument, but the Portuguese team is a good proof that Bruno can of course work in an dominating team, that's not dependent on counter attacks. A tale of two BrunosBest player in the first half, was the worst player in the second.
The question in this forum is rarely if we can be prime tiki-taka-Barcelona but if we play a dominant, active way or just counter attacking way of football. He obviously can. I think he could as well flourish, when he has a competent set of defenders and midfielders to build the play around him. Maybe not beeing that much on the focus but provide the team with sparkles when needed.I am sure, Peter Crouch wouldn't have looked too bad at tiki taka Barcelona.
