Brexited | the worst threads live the longest

Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

Damn it feels good to have someone with common sense leading your country. We are still fecked because of your countryside folk, but at least we have someone fighting out corner.

Honestly I don't know, from the first article about citizens status to the last one, they basically used current EU laws and practices. If there are genuine brexiteers out there then this is the worst thing possible outside of cancelling the all thing.
From a political point of view I don't really understand it.

Can't see how Brexiters are going to accept it. Basically it's BINO because, as we know, NI is impossible to solve and that's why it has come to this, leaving but not really.
But as most have said all along the only alternatives to this are Remain or jump off the cliff and May seems to have actually finally realised this.

Forgive my simple question but what happens if the deal doesn't get through parliament?
then it's no deal and most probably a general election. It might be the DUP end their parliamentary support for being sold out by May. #DisMay

I think quite a few Labour MPs, many of those from leave constituencies will end up backing the deal. I think most the Tories will grudgingly or otherwise back it, apart from the hardcore leavers.

From a remain perspective, it seem like it might be ok. Seems we're still strongly aligned to the EU, crucially for things like employment and environmental regulations. We won't have a say in those laws, but then the UK is generally one of the countries pushing for business over people laws anyway. It's definitely worse than staying in the EU, that much is obvious, but its a case of stick or twist. A hell of a lot needs to happen for the UK to stay in the EU, a lot less needs to happen to leave with a worse or no deal at all.

An interesting point is that the document for the withdrawal is 585 pages but the document for a future relationship is only 7... So there's still a lot more life left in this thread.

Process certainly is taking its toll on Arlene Foster. Looking rough earlier.

Independent journalist:

EXCL: Understand No 10 has told opposition parties they are likely to allow amendments to be voted on BEFORE meaningful vote. Potential game-changer.

Does that mean the UK-EU agreement is sealed from the UK side? Rees-Mogg can now focus on other issues like raising his children and arguing with poldark

Not at all
Probably may goes but then there is a conservative leadership election NOT a general election
New leader... Probably Johnson or mogg etc will leave without a deal
Only way there is a ge is loosing a formal no confidence vote or 2/3 of MP's vote for an early election
Dup would probably back no deal and a new conservative leadership would probably have it in their mandade from the party so would carry almost all.conservative votes... Plus some hardcore labour leave
Much more likley than a ge I think

There was something a few pages ago about the folks from UK needing a Visa to visit the EU. Has that been confirmed yet?
The proposal protects the rights of both EU citizens in the Uk and vice-versa. Assuming the UK stays in the customs union, nothing should change.

Hard Brexit? Yeah, Visa needed.

Morning has started with some cnut that no one has ever heard of resigning.

Meant to be something to do with N Ireland but I’m guessing he could barely find it on the map. Thought it was Karen Bradley when I read the headline.

Raab gone - this is the flood gates opening - expect a leadership challenge by the end of the day. No way this gets through the commons now.

Wasn't getting through anyway but they'll quickly distance themselves from this so they can avoid blame. Career politicians with ambition of office, they're only interested in their own future.

The replies to this are so weird.

This dickhead comes in, does an atrocious job, repeatedly shows himself to be ignorant of the most basic elements of the task at hand then pisses off the moment we get to crunch time. And his fecking electorate are fawning over him! The world’s gone mad...

The twitter lot were calling for chucking May out for her betrayal yesterday so anyone resigning will get their support.

Doesn't really make sense but these type of leave voters didn't vote in good sense.

Matt Hancock was doing the TV rounds this morning and his spin was this is the only deal and the options of no deal in terms of hard brexit or a second referendum are ugly. Interesting that they're once again discussing a second referendum, they're expecting it and are starting to PR their angle on it imo.

This is what decades long brainwashing through Murdoch media does for you. All these Brexiteers reside in the same Brain Space as the Trumpiteers do...

May is saying different things to different people.
She is telling the ERG crew, No Brexit is an option. At the same time, she's telling Labour and Tory Remainers, it's her deal or a Hard Brexit.

I've had the misfortune of meeting with Raab on a few occasions in the last 12 months.

Idiocy is being kind.
