Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

  • Total voters
    194
  • Poll closed .
The worrying thing this is we all found it funny last time their leader went and ended up with a worse leader. If Mogg gets elected :nervous:

Honestly, these politicians are just laughing it up.

This has livened up their Monday, what a laugh. Rest of us, just continues to force us further into the shit bath they've run for us.

"Will of the people" - we're to blame for this. Or rather 52% that voted to Leave and the twats that didn't bother.

I get that. Campaigns run based on lies and cheap shots persuaded those unable to critically think. Add that to those who honestly saw benefits to it (although, nobody seems to be able to name any).. it's our own fault.

Listened to the exchange in the car there. Looking shooting fish in the barrel for Corbyn but he did well.

I think this leaves her stronger. She will have a good deal of cross-party support for this proposal and she has lost a couple of thorns in her side.

I get the impression that Mays plan is that industries inside the UK that want to trade with EU will be able to conform to the industrial regulations required for EU while simultaneously companies inside the UK trading with other regions will be able to conform to different industrial regulations. Am I hearing that correctly?

She's just said she will end freedom of movement - how does she intend to do that with a soft Brexit?

Still spouting shite.

She said no custom union, no single market, no ECJ and no freedom of movement. Which essentially means no deal and leads to the question, why is she negotiating with the EU?

The whole Brexit document is basically "we say we aren't doing this but we really are". It feels like they're trying to con the public, by phrasing staying in the single market and accepting free movement in a way that makes it sound like they are no longer in them, when of course, they are.

It'll probably work with a lot of them, too.

This is going to be kicked into touch by the EU.

Not so sure. They will probably want some further concessions but I reckon they will be glad that Davis and Johnson are gone. Generally speaking I think they like May. I reckon she could have been given some assurances from Merkel and the like.

I don't understand what the point is of this white paper. It's more of a white elephant than a white paper.

You feel they're increasingly accepting the reality and sense of a soft Brexit, but they still continue to spout nonsense that just isn't going to happen if we go by that route. Bizarre approach.

Yeah, except it's dangerously close to what we had before, costs an outrageous fortune to implement and buy out of and leaves us with no say or seat at the table.

The correct thing to do after the opinion poll would have been to go back to the slim majority of "people" who voted leave and ask them what exactly it is that they want out of this.

Silence

"it's time to rule out a 2nd referendum"

*4 people cheer.*

Biggest reaction was when someone asked if parliament should be called back in their Summer break.

Shocking.

I honestly find the argument that "the people have made their decision" a little galling.

We have regular elections because people change their minds, we have appeals on court decisions because new facts come to light and we have a two house system to make sure idiotic decisions are challenged and debated.

Could be wrong but my understanding this was always a starting point before ending up accepting a soft Brexit. The plan to accept a soft brexit may have lead to the resignations.

Mate, that paper is shit, there is nothing to accept or refuse.

'No, it's not free movement, we have a new system called uncontested roaming'

No custom union, no single market, no ECJ, no freedom of movement but free trade with the EU with the UK collecting tariffs for EU countries. It's a pipe dream there is now way that the EU will go for that.

They need to go for something because if we stay within the pillars there will be nothing short of a revolution in this country however much people on here might think the Brexiters have changed their minds.

Ignore the people at your peril.

A well-connected source has just told me that it could be more serious than that.

They told me it is a concerted push to force the prime minister to drop her Chequers’ compromise.

They said: “If she doesn’t drop Chequers there will be another, then another, then another, then another”.

Mr Johnson took a while to make his mind up, arguably many months. It’s not the most dignified resignation perhaps, waiting for Mr Davis to take the lead and then pondering the pluses and minuses of a move now.

No. 10 had calculated that it could face these two resignations and might be able to survive them. But it can’t be sure. It can be reasonably sure now that an attempt on the PM’s leadership will be made. Forty-eight MPs need to send in letters demanding a vote of no confidence. That now looks very plausible.

No 10 says May will fight to keep her job if there's a no confidence vote
Downing Street has confirmed that Theresa May will seek to fight to keep her job if Tory MPs trigger a no confidence vote, my colleague Heather Stewart reports.

'We need a new name for the single market'

'How about the Brexit Bazaar'

'Too Islamic. Have you forgotten who votes for us?'

I agree but she can't say the opposite even if she doesn't mean it.
