Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

Seeing as this is a football forum, is it safe to say that a no deal Brexit will significantly weaken the PL? Pound will go down even further, TV deals will go down if Sky and BT lose subscribers etc. It'll become harder to get European players in.

Well you'd imagine that clubs on the continent will begin to pick off our players with them being cheaper. We might get that monster fee for Pogba next summer but european players will be more expensive and english talent will have inflated prices.

Although I'm sure most of the top clubs secure against currency fluctuations....maybe.

We have had this before have we not with the migrant checks and yes it slowed things down and there was shortage but we coped. I started to buy locally to feed my family and have done so ever since.

We would always use alternative transport - there are still ships and planes. We still have a very good relationship with the USA.

I am not dismissing this because it could well happen but I would like to think we could cope.

Bear in mind we’re talking about a potential threat the EU could pose if they wish to, and this is something that certainly hasn’t happened before. We’re not talking about a few extra delays, we’re talking about their ability to deliberately cause massive delays if they wish. Ships and planes wouldn’t help, our entire supply system is built around our ability to bring in goods via trucks just in time for usage.

I’m not saying Britain would starve, but there would be huge disruption and shortages, and the British public are in no way prepared for that, or willing to suffer through it.

That's the worst photo of Paloma I've ever seen.

If we ever get a referendum and manage to overturn this thing I'm going to comment on a daily mail article every day mocking them.

Do you really believe there will be no trade at all? So what will the pile up of lorries at dover be carrying?

Of course not, we have been trading with our European neighbours for centuries and will continue to do so, I was simply making the point that many on this thread talk as if ALL trade will cease and the UK will sail off into the North Atlantic.

That's not what No Deal means. No Deal means that standard international agreements will be applied, for example standard WTO rules.

Presumably standard WTO rules applied prior to the UK joining in 1975? So it should therefore be termed not "No deal"; but " the back to the Future in 1975 deal"

No it's no deal because of the absence of bilateral deal between the UK and the EU and it's also not the same rules than in 1975, current rules are GATT 1994.

The choice of that particular photo to represent Stephen Fry betrays homophobia on the part of the Mail staff responsible and assumes it of Mail readers.

Yes, sorry I was attempting to be ironic with the back to the future thing...perhaps I will have better luck next time? ;)

We are going from the sublime to the ridiculous. Yes and the days will get shorter and children under 10 will be sent up chimneys and those pesky mosquitoes will cause havoc and there will be a plague of locusts and the river Thames will run red with blood ........and....... No wonder those in favour of Brexit reckon that those of us who wish to remain only engage in project fear.

/Just make it stop at all cost.

I think its been mentioned on here before but when people talk about being ''fed up with Brexit'' and just want to ''gerronwivit'', what they actual mean is they want a different news story to listen when they come from work. Because no one(Expect people in this thread, maybe)have any actual talked about Britain future role with Europe.

People are fed up with a conversation they've never had.

What are you talking about?

The fallacy of thinking Brexit will cease to be a topic after October31.

Tbf watching a re-run of episode one for over three years is bit ott. Us abroad are waiting for episode 2 to begin , so far delayed to 1st November - in the next exciting episode, Brexiters realise they made a terrible mistake, initially blame the EU but eventually realise it was all Farage's and Johnson's fault and corner them in the Tower of London.

And 16% of Leave voters are opposed to no deal...
Lies damn lies and statistics...
The one interesting thing I see there is more conservative voters oppose a hard brexit than labour supporters who approve of one... The risk of alienating remain conservatives is one that's overlooked... I think mainly due to the utter incompetence of Corbyn but there could be some winnable voters there for libs

I can see your point. It could get toxic very quickly given how quickly news gets to the masses.

Lets hope common sense prevails.

A number of who either live abroad mainly in Spain, or who have holiday homes there.
They were on the TV yesterday, openly saying that they live in Spain because of the weather and openly boasting that they voted to leave 'because of immigration'.

Yeah Corbyn will never win them over but as you said could be something of a possible win for the libs. If there is a election soon I don't it going to be as easy as some are suggesting for the tories(One guy on news night was confidence in the tories winning as massive majority)

I know some will have a go at me but this video will only touch those who are already converted. To feel this woman's pain, you need empathy. Sad part is those who want to kick the foreigners out have none.

It will be player across Europe and the anti UK sentiment within the EU will only grow. Won't be long before other countries start kicking our people out.

I feel very sorry for her, I can why she is distressed as there is literally no information about what her rights are or what she should do.

After the Brexit saga it will be more like 40 -50 years... unless of course 'No deal' literally means what it implies and there is no trade at all between the EU and the UK, a situation which a lot of people on here seem to think will occur.

No trade at all...
Where did that come from.

That selection of photos is disgraceful, IMO.

Read the responses from Brexiters here. It’s as expected. What a fecking joke this is all happening because of moronic twats like this.

They love bringing up fishing. Crazy how passionate about it they are and obviously always have been.
We can go and earn a living and provide for our families again instead of surviving off government handouts by fishing in our own waters and not being stuck in dock because we’re not allowed otherwise we upset the other Eu partners as they fish there then sell it back to us..... Maybe just maybe we’ll all get a little self respect back by standing on our own two feet.
I imagine most of the people in our fishing communities would be able to give you an answer

Absolutely ridiculous and simple comment for a remainer. It's what benifits us as a nation when we leave and not being a sitting duck ready to be taken advantage of for the foreseeable future. Just ask yourself why are they so desperate to keep us? Any other country would have been waved off by now!
Well looks like us brexiteers are getting our way anyhow..... So two fingers to the lot of you

Well, we will no longer be funding the EU which is why I voted to Leave.

So, knowing that, my life will be much improved.

This reply was good
I'm confused as to whether it is straight or bendy bananas that we'll be able to have again

And a good response to those who love fishing
Well, given the Tories ruthlessly destroyed an entire industry, wiped out nearly half a million mining jobs plus feck knows how many more from the supply chain & turned our villages & towns into drug dens of despair and mass unemployment, forgive me giving zero fecks for an industry that generates 0.12% of our GDP.

Crashing the other 99.88% to satisfy 24,000 fisherman is the economics of an utter fecking moron.

My boss's wife is German and has been living in Britain for 40 years, they have 4 children.

She is about to take a British citizen test because she has never felt more uncomfortable about being sent 'home'.

Yeah, it's awful. I saw a very upset Portuguese woman on Sky News who's lived here for years and now has no clue whether she will be allowed to stay. Behind all the fighting over deal and no deal, we need to remember there are real people who's lives are being severely and unfairly affected.
