Auction-Trade Madness Draft

Seeing as eight of us won’t make it past the 1st round, there’s little incentive to save money and have a weaker team.

How about this. The winner of each match gets their votes converted to millions and tripled. Realistically that will give the winners about 60m to play with. It also gives more incentive to be active in the thread and get people to vote.

Even a 20m bonus could make a world of difference.

Aye if you can sell players at base price to the bank then also have like 40m bonus per round(but keep the squad size at minimum 12 or even 13 players, so that you don't spend it on one player) it should do the trick.

You still won't stack up GOAT's what @Edgar Allan Pillow wanted initially anyway but also be able to improve, or at least change your team a bit to prevent getting dull rounds at the end..

40m should be enough. That means you will be able to upgrade two 30m players with 50m players or one 80 with 120m etc, without touching the GOATs or have two of them in your team..

Yeah, I also supported similar idea — that the vote difference would be monetized, say, 5 or 10 mil for each vote

Yep. Redistributing your spending for reinforcements would be fine. Allows new permutations. Plus you can buy only one player so what would I achieve by selling an 80m player?

I'm fine either ways anyway.

Don't see much logic behind your outrage.

Think mixture of both approaches.

First RI round, keep it simple.. players can be sold at base price including sub.

then for semi final, a 20m bonus.

for Final, a 30m bonus.

disagree there. Some games are played on weekends or match nights and attract less voters. There's also two excellent teams paired together yet being punished going forward for having a tight game..

I strongly oppose this idea. If winners get bonus money it absolutely 100% has to be the same amount for all winners.

Lopsided reinforcement money is a really really bad idea
 
Reinforcements have been a problem from the start. Was clear as day people wouldn’t save their money when 1. There’s no motivation to do so when there’s little competition for even the goat-est of goats 2. The budget was so small comparative to the minimum bids.

That would work as well. I'd still have at least 20m per round as well as ability to sell at base price.

Auction drafts always include the same bidding process in RR but even with selling at base price there would be probably very little movement and same teams going forward.
 
I just want to repeat that we just saw last draft how boring and unfair a lopsided reinforcement round can make the latter stages. Last draft probably had the most boring SF and Final matchups due to asymmetric reinforcements.

The only fair and logical way to do bonus money is if all winners get the same bonus money. Money based on votes or something is a horrible idea

This is the best idea. Also, maybe allow 11 player squads after R1

Problem being not everyone got a player for base price like you did.
Some of us actually made the auction draft make sense by bidding higher for players that their base prices.

If we need to take a loss for that, that is illogical from an auction draft POV.
 
It is what it is now but reinforcement rounds are definitely pointless in this draft. The whole point of saving in proper auction drafts was that you could get 100m player later for 40-50m. Now given the price won’t change for marquee players, there is zero benefit of saving money and not buying the best players upfront. Bar 1-2 managers I don’t expect any acitivity in reinforcements. May be a manager will sell 100m+ player to pick a couple of 50m ones but that’s about it

You can't just hope mate :lol:
When the budget is tight and obviously only 50% of the teams advance to reinforcements there is no incentive to saving any money for reinforcements. None. I am only left with 20m because there was no left back I rated better for my system who was available for 30-40m.
