There was a lot of quality in that 50m pool with barely something between them. Tardelli, Souness, Tigana - all available for 50m and can't say one of those three has an advantage over the others or even some of the 80m pool..

You're forgetting Masopust who is the Ballon D'or winner at 50m, absolute bargain.

Yeah absolutely.

Interesting Keane and Davids were higher priced. Probably not much in it quality wise (and Davids went unpicked).
 
Luisito Suárez is another one in the 50m mark. Surprised he didn’t get picked actually.

His draft impact seems to have cooled.

Nah if he was 50m he'd be long gone. It was either him or Rivellino for the 80m mark for us but the latter is more versatile and suited us better.

Some quality players from that pool went unpicked - Didi, Breitner, Iniesta, Bergomi, Laudrup, Vieira...
