Could that have been his worst ever performance last night? The bar really isn’t that high but that was just abysmal.

Pound for pound the worst signing in the world. All the big money signings before him at least came with a promise even if they failed to live up to the hype or justify the money spent on them. This guy has no redeeming quality. There should be an inquiry into his signing. Has to be a fraud.

Not supporting him as he completely blew it out of proportion and acted like a knob, but you can see why Sancho got annoyed with ETH constantly starting his lovechild.

Transfermkt (4th April) Antony resale value now plummeted to £23.9m

Looking around a £61.7m loss in less than 2 years

The most predictable one footed player I have ever seen. Even Valencia and Shaw use(d) their weaker foot more than him.

He's rubbish, I feel bad for saying it but his attitude is also a disgrace after the Coventry debacle, it's one thing not understanding the culture of the game but lacking class / professionalism is another matter.

Id snap somebody’s hand off for £24m, I’d be surprised if we could get even half of that.
I’d be surprised as well.

He‘s almost valueless/unsellable, think Utd will loan him out and part subside his wages.

Nobody will pay 20m for him don't be naive. I bet we get the likes of Besiktas with a cheap loan deal trying to get us to cover 90% of his wages.

I’ve tried to give him benefit of the doubt abit, but he really is terrible. Again, this is where Ten Hag does himself no favours as he continues to start him.

I cant get my head around why EtH keeps picking him.. and the fact he then hooks him off at 50/60mins after another sh*tshow performance shows he clearly shouldnt be near the first team. Its like everyone on earth can see it except Ten Hag :wenger:

Think Ten Hag persists with him in the faint hope he’ll come good to justify why he bought him.

Question is how the hell did the club agree £85.6m ?

That counter where he had 4 United players ahead of him and he still passed to a Palace player sums him up.

If they haven't already been, everybody involved in this transfer should be fired.

I think Ten Hag is the last survivor now Murtough is gone.

Nobody's buying him guaranteed, best case scenario is we loan him to a weaker league eg, Portugal, Holland etc and he regains some semblance of football ability playing against weaker defenders and then I'd imagine the maximum anyone will pay is around 20 million.

Quite simply a shite football player.

He'll be loaned out a few times before being sold for 10m the year before his contract ends

Ten Hag ending up at Bayern is the only hope of us selling him. He might see him as the replacement to Robben that they've been looking for for years. Other than that he'll be on loan or be sat on the bench for us for the next couple of years.

The team responsible for this signing must be taken to the courts. Calling this a sackable offence is an understatement. This reeks of an organization where job safety is incredibly high mixed with extremely low accountability. The fact that any human with any amount of football knowledge saw a report on this man and thought, "Yes, that's 90m" reeks of a lot of 'yes' men at the top of the chain.

Yep. It’s not just the insane transfer fee, it’s that we increased his wages by 900% when he was so desperate to join us he was going on strike at Ajax. He’s an absolutely diabolical footballer on every level. One of the most damning strike’s against Ten Hag as a manager is that he believed this guy was worth bringing with him, let alone pushing the club to break the bank for him. I’d get him gone this summer at a huge loss. Whatever it takes.

The fun part is our scouts rating him a 25m talent just for us to drop 85 on him.

No way near this level. Hasn't got the physicality, they just handle him with absolute ease. Average PL fullbacks enjoy coming up against Antony because they know all he'll do is look inside to pass or curl a speculative shot into row Z. Can't get down the outside and doesn't have any presence to get in the box and can't beat anyone.

Would do well to go to Turkey or somewhere like that, probably his technique would look decent there. Obviously looked decent in the Dutch league so I think this is his level.

How can a Brazilian be so sh*t? Even the average ones like Robinho and Kerlon have redeeming qualities (seal dribble anyone?), Antony literally has nothing in his arsenal to worry defenders. He’s worse than that guy Jô City signed all those years ago they thought was going to be better than Ronaldo

I see Sancho being brought up every now and then in the Antony discussion. Although we signed Sancho thinking he was a RW, Sancho wanted to play LW and compete with Rashford, right from the word go.
Am I missing something?

If you don't wipe well before applying the wax, it's always a risk

I'd be perplexed if anyone offered £24m for him. Best case scenario we can send him on loan somewhere with the other team contributing most of his wages and even that's incredibly optimistic.

He also has the weakest ‘strong’ foot of any player I’ve ever seen. He can’t pass or cross with his left, and most of his shots are weak or predictable

It's disappointing that he really hasn't progressed either. Players don't become better at Man Utd. Surely any decent player (and he's been in Brazil's squad ffs) can be taught to do a bit more, or to improve aspects of their play.

It's like United are playing with 10 men whenever he plays. He's completely invisible in most games.

Yeah. Hope we don't fall into the sunken cost fallacy and hope for him to get better. That isn't going to happen.

At one point the commentator said that he polarizes opinion. Not sure where he'd been looking to see many people defending him!

Did you see him whispering to Mount and Onana at the end?

I’m pretty sure it relates to the incident just before he was subbed off when we had three on one breakaway where Hojlund ran past his pass leaving it straight to the palace player. Antony reacted furiously throwing his arms up in the air in disgust at Hojlund...the argument continued for 30 seconds before the orders to sub him came from the bench.
To me this shows that some of the players don’t rate Hojlund and the disharmony in the squad.. mind you I think Hojlund looks very raw and off the pace
