Looks like he had a good old whinge about it all right
but in the end, he stuck to it and did well. Can't complain about that. i see falling and bumping his head fixed his right foot, more of that please 
That's bought him a few more opportunities, very good cameo.
Decent cameo, happy for him. He's been a disappointment but he's not a bad player. Adds a lot of balance, and can keep the ball well in tight positions (also loses it easily and stupidly often enough). Hope he kicks on from now, even as a squad player. Rashford, Hojlund and Garnacho is the way to go.

Put Sancho talent with his temperament and work rate and we have a world class player. Maybe Ratcliffe can build a lab that can combine players traits instead of new OT. Anyhow we can all slate him for his lack of skills but he for sure never lack any drive and work rate while playing. Always give his maximum effort even though it might not be good enough. Serious question is playing him as wingback the next move for us? Its not like you need a WB to be super sound defensively (see Trent)
His ball retention and work rate are his best attributes thats why I think repurposing him in other position might work. I see him as a worse version of Di Maria where he played as b2b midfielder/shuttler in Madrid's 433 setup. He might work in that kind of set up since his obvious weaknesses (lack of pace to burn and 1v1 against fullbacks) can be hidden in midfield. Also makes him less prone to cutting in therefore makes him less predictable. Hire me United

Fair play to him, we don't have a spot in the semi-final without that goal, and he had a few other decent moments as well, including a good effort from the edge of the box.
I think yesterday is another good example, that he is just much better in central areas than when he is too wide. He needs to be combining in and around the box, because that's where he can use his burst of pace, good technique, left-foot shot and decent eye for a pass. When he is forced wide on the right side, he is ineffective, because he doesn't have the pace to run past people and he doesn't have a right foot to go both ways.

Aye, it looked from the stands that he was throwing a bit of a strop, and he didn't look happy at Kick Off... but then he got over it pretty quickly and got on with the job, so fair play.

Why was he not passing it to Amad? Happened a few times when Amad went past him. Did anyone else notice?

His goal came in a more centred position where he seemed to have a low sense of gravity and was less predictable as he couldnt just keep cutting in.
Considering Amad was on the pitch it seemed like they would rotate in and out of the RW position; taking turns to take more central positions.
Seems unlikely to get such a chance though but I guess it kind of did happen with Sancho so you never know.

Do you think he does it because he considers Amad his direct competition for places? But even if so, making right decisions and right passes benefits the player

This sort of thing always melts my brain a bit. Same with the Bruno and Hojlund stuff. As if a footballer playing football at the very highest level, in a league that is famous for its frantic pace, not only has the time and vision to pick out a red shirt in a good position but also work out who’s wearing that red shirt and decide “nah, I’m not passing to that guy… because reasons… to hell with the result, feck that guy…”

Did well when he came on. I still don't think it changes the fact that he's not good enough to be a winger/wide attacker at the club. Premier league full backs are too fast and too clever for him.

Good performance tonight. Had Cucurella on toast a few times, beautiful assist, could have had another if Hojlund made a run. Unlucky with the pen decision.

No not forgiving him for one good pass. In countless games he's fecked up that very same pass and the defending for the (first) penalty was atrocious.
Deserved to be on the winning side. Not everything worked out but he was a constant menace on and off the ball.
Heavily involved in all our goals.
He was great all game, and the penalty was a joke.
