He was okayish.... he'll track back, press and he keeps the ball well, but offensively he doesn't carry much threat.
You could see with Amad that through ball Bruno miscontrolled. Antony doesn't have that neither is he quick or can he truly beat players in tight areas. He's just a level below what you'll want, but you can't fault his effort.

85m quid!!!
That deal needs to be investigated, some money laundering scheme must be involved.
Not his fault but we have been properly scammed, Nigerian prince style

Has the arrogance of somebody who thinks they are 80% better than they actually are. Extremely horrible guy all round. No place for him here.

Gets a lot of hate but right now he is playing better than Rashford (both below where we need to be).
He really isn’t, Rashford playing on empty or with his head up his ass or he’s got an injury but even at his absolute worse he’s still 4 times the player Antony is as an attacking threat, yes Antony can defend as a winger but he offers absolutely nothing in the final third, he’s 24 now, getting 200k per week which is the same age as Brentford Brian Mbeumo, one earns £50-60k per week, Anthony earns 4 times what Mbeumo and many orherdoth are inverted right wingers who are left footed, one has played 21 PL games this season with 8 goals and 5 assists, coming after a previous season Played 38 games with 9 goals and 8 assists, the other has played 26 PL games this season 0 goals, 1 assist coming from a season of playing 25 PL games with 4 goals and 2 assists.

Antony has played 51 PL games 4 goals 3 assists he has 1 Goal involvement in every 7.29 PL Games, let that sink in for one moment!

Brian Mbeumo who was available two years ago at £25m not £82.5m has 17 goals and 13 assists in 59 PL games or 1 Goal involvement in every 1.97 games which is what all your front three should be aiming for.

I don’t agree with the way Sancho played up or even soof Amad’s posts but players see a Teachers Pet and guess what it creates huge divides in the dressing room. He’s not fit for purpose for a United team that wants to play 4-3-3 attacking football where your starting three upfront must all get double figures at the very least !

The club need to loan him out somewhere and hope he finds some form in Italy or Spain and we can get £30m back for him.

I actually think our current front three should all be starting from the bench next season and hopefully we can be super ambitious in this area of the squad.

Yes I watched the game. If this is the basis of a player being alright then standards are on the floor.
Well yea, there was nothing wrong with that performance and certainly not terrible. Could he have done more? Certainly. But he was alright and should have gotten an assist. This just feels like people hating the player at this point because he cost a lot(which isn't his fault).

Playing on the right wing and being scared to cross it with your right foot is one hell of a handicap to play with.

Erik does not like taking him off but thankfully Antony leaves him no option.

Please, don’t compare him with the others. It’s depressing that we spent that much and raised his pay to 200K per week. But, the clowns making it happened have been or will be let go, one by one, except the Glazers.

He was fine in the first half. Should have gotten an assist at the very least. That being said, he is already one of the most disliked players in the squad so his performance will be rated 'dreadfull' even if it was okay-ish. We all know he isnt worth the money... judge him on his game, not on his price because he will never live up to his price.

Would like to see Amad get a start over him though.

Agree with everything here. Sure he didn’t have a great game but he definitely wasn’t horrid as many are suggesting.

One thing I saw a major improvement on is he actually looked up and passed it around to team mates - rather than his usual try to cut in and shoot every opportunity.

Exactly this, not one of them is good enough to be starting.
And a conversation needs to be held about Bruno vis a vis what style of play we want. Man is built for an open space counter attack style and not a possession intricate team, but at least he is the best of the lot

I think saying his performance was ok at best is being generous but it's more a basis of how shocking and useless he usually is. He was less so yesterday, so there's that I guess.

Hopefully gone next season. Wondering how much we could get for him if we did sell him. I can't see many clubs going for a player that struggles to use a foot,to take on people, lacks good pace and can't really cross.

He looked okay and was very unlucky to not come away with an assist yesterday.

Nope. We played coventry in the fa cup and We were far worse in attack in first half that game than we were tonight. So yes, keep Rashford out the 11 by all means neccesary.
That's not even true though?
Against Coventry we were 3-0 up with Rashford before Antony got subbed on after an hour, we were 2-0 up in the first half and cruising in that game. Here we were losing 2-1 to the worst defensive premier league side in decades when we took off Antony.

He played an hour against Coventry where we played like garbage with him on and blew a 3-0 lead and created feck all, and then he played an hour yesterday where we were losing 2-1 and also playing a bit shit. The 90 minutes without him in those 2 games we scored 5 goals and conceded none, the 120 minutes with him we scored 1 goal and conceded 5.

It's unfair to put all that blame on him, but he's played his part in that and there's nothing saying we play better with him

strictly because at no point in the first 1 hour did we gift Coventry 2 free goals. Necesitating twice having to break a low block doing the equivalent of planet packing. It wasn't thanks to a thing Rashford added against the 17th worst defence in the English championship' having gifted them no goals these were our first half statistics:

Vs Coventry
65% possesion
369 passes
349 accurate
11 GA, Forced 1 Keeper save 32 dangerous attacks.
Vs Sheff UTd
83% possesion
437 passes
349 accurate
17 GA, Forced, 6 Keeper saves 354 dangerous attacks.

The sheer volume of shots, dangerous attacks and saves is chalk & cheese.

Key difference by half time was the worse finishing vs stronger defensive opponents parking a literal planet. In both games we required Maguire headers to get on the score sheet by half time.

So no, I'm not buying this new fangled remix of a Rashford excuse. .....

It's not a Rashford excuse at all, it's just I'm not having anything in support of Antony anymore to be honest  I'm just done with the guy and can't stand to see him on the pitch for us. Garbage player, shit person.

How can anyone suggest that performance last night was anything other than a disgrace for a player on £200k+ a week and cost £85M? It's not like last night was a one off, on the contrary, last night was one of his better performances and he was still well below average. I doubt he would start for any other PL side.
Given how ridiculously one footed he is, would he not be best served on the left wing when he can compete with Rashford? He is a waste of a position when he plays on the right and just slows play down and brings the ball onto his good side which enables the defender to get goal side every time. He is useless at best. The guy needs hounding out of OT and players need to know that this level isn't good enough.

heh
Well that YOUR problem.:D My original point stands.

The attack was provably far better without the currently useless Rashford. I could careless if it happened with guy you detest. Sorry

Haha well I guess in my view I don't think either of them had much to do with it positively and it was more just Bruno, mainoo, Garnacho and Dalot being our only functional players and Maguire getting on some crosses. Amad should be starting ahead of both Rashford or Antony currently. But given what we know rashford can be when he's not going through a mental break down, he still goes ahead of Antony for me.

Man Utd 1:1 Burnley
Credit where its due. Ran himself into the ground today and finally scored!

After the goal he looked a different player. He made 2 really good runs as well.

I kind of get annoyed at him scoring as it means he'll now start the next multiple games

Took his goal well and should have had at least one more.

Not the worst player on the pitch.

That's some commitment to waving your hateboner around for one of our players. Fair play.

One of the best games this season. He is clearly talented and one of the very few players that I can see playing in a possession based team.

Did well to finish when being pushed over. Wasted so many other chances before that but at least showed endeavour to keep getting in those positions.

Thought he was rubbish but redeemed himself with the goal. Does work hard which should be a given for a highly paid professional. Irrespective he's substitute standard at best, the club will inevitably have to replace / upgrade his position to develop moving forward.

Well in son. That’s you starting every game until the end of the season now

Played well and a good finish.

Refreshing to see someone who was still able to run in the last 20 minutes

Before his goal he was okay. Would likely have scored way earlier if only Garnacho made the pass instead of failing the selfish curler. Antony created a big chance for Garnacho (where Garnacho did he second dive) so he was already playing okay-ish in my opinion. Good goal from Antony too. He was fine today.

He starts with a -10 for some so he can never do any good to those.

Played well. Hopefully he will chip in a few more goals the next games.

Almost cost us the game with those missed chances. Got very lucky when they fecked up the pass.

Ineos should be doing their absolute best to find him a new club

Got the goal, a goal which saved us from utter humiliation, but apart from it was a poor performance. But when you’re on the front line and you score the lone goal, you’ve done your job.
