Rewatching extended highlights and he really made 2 big saves, he's been at it this season, and we desperately need him to continue like this until this team settles down
And takes time for some players to settle at a new club. DeGea was poor in his first season and taking into account he was younger than Onana was when he first became United's number 1 and had to manage the pressure as chose replacement of retiring great Edwin van der Sar.See what some confidence can do?
End of next season is going a bit too long if Zirkzee's performances continue at this level. I'd expect to be seeing some improvement towards the end of this season, or at the latest the early part of next season.I'm happy for him and us. He backed himself even when we had all given up. People should take this as a case study for another one of our players, also from the Italian league and struggling in his first season. Zirkzee, should be given till the end of next season.
I’ve grown to expect a good performance from him so anything that isn’t exceptional goes under the radar for me. But yes he was very good.So you thought Mazraoui wasn’t good? If so you didn’t watch the game or have an agenda against him.
Guess I'm one of them. I never thought he'd last after last season but fair play to him he's knuckled down and looks to be the part these days. I think he still has the odd clanger in him but hes a far far different proposition than the Andre Onana of 12 months ago. Fair play to him.I bet the haters on this forum won't admit they were wrong.
Absolutely. Should be quite a bit of humble pie going around.I bet the haters on this forum won't admit they were wrong.

I was completely wrong about him. He has been brilliantAbsolutely. Should be quite a bit of humble pie going around.
Confidence can take many forms, and so can its lacks. But have you never tried doing high-level or high-speed (reaction time wise) performances in both higher and lower levels of confidence? The difference can be staggering. He used to look so heavy footed, and now he moves like spiderman. It's hard to believe that caused by "lack of confidence". There must be a change somewhere.
This topic got a lot more reactions when Onana wasnt saving the team every week. Before last season AFCON, Onana wasnt good so many comments about him being shit were made. After AFCON he played well but people didnt trust him because of earlier mistakes so he was still called shit. Now he saves the team every week and its very silent in here.
The moment he makes a mistake this topic will flood over again though. People just hate being proven wrong and look forward to a 'told you so he was shit' moment.
Fair play. It’s not like I was some adamant onana defender either - my belief was shaken to the point I had almost given up on him (he wasn’t anywhere near my top choice to begin with either). But I tried persevering to give him some time to settle in, especially as we became more shite by the day under EtH.I was completely wrong about him. He has been brilliant
