They put the United shirt on and turn into a worse version of themselves.

We really could of done without this becoming an issue.

He must be one of the worst one-on-one keepers around. Literally lies down for the opponent. It was obvious what Icardi was lining up for about 3 yards, and he still went down early ffs.
The bad pass out was very annoying because he’s usually fantastic at that.

Am afraid this is actually on Ten Hag, the style he wants is just not suited to premier league football, in a slow paced league like Serie A Onana could play out from the area but in EPL and against teams that press in the CL then it's a disastrous signing, moreover, it's bad judgment from the manager.

Not good enough. De Gea absolutely had to go, no doubt about that - but this guy isn't looking like the proper replacement.
A team that faced 145 shots on target give opposition super deadly shots vs a goalkeeper the more you give upnthe worse it is for the goalie. To come out of that with a 70%+ save rate like DDG constantly did is world class. United defense made DDG look mediocre, not the other way around.

Allison and Ederson both play out for the back.

Feck, most of the fecking league play out from the back. It's not on EtH.

So you still believe that a new keeper is all we need to transform into a top club?
No, we need a keeper and much more than that but we definitely dont need DDG and Onana who keeps making mistakes every game.

Could have done better for the first and the third. That insane cross "collection." And of course that pass. Everyone agrees on those.

Wanted to add one - while I don't think the 2nd was his fault, the attempted save was a funny moment - his foot arrived late and wouldn't have covered the shot even if it arrived instantaneously.

Massimo Taibi was dumped after 4 games. How many does Onana get?

Onana is a shite keeper.

He can play in defence maybe as can play the ball out from he back, ETH likes that. Would also add to Maquires shame.

Chap came in full of bravado and confidence. Now he’s seen just how heavy the pressure weighs at United he looks half the size. Still early days but already have to wonder if he’ll recover from this start.

That supposed confidence will be hanging by a thread every time he’s tested, likely resulting in more errors.

Nightmare.

Any inter watching people to confirm if he was that... "special" for them too or it's yet another case of a player thinking they "made it" once their contract with united is signed?
Even on his Inter youtube highlights you can notice that he is not good in saving shots and that he is line keeper (just like Dave).
I pointed out on that before we signed him but but but "his passing skill is out of this world!"

No. Just no. Coaching. Onana was on the shortlist for the Ballon D’Or. Most pundits had him as one of the top 5 keepers in Europe. ETH has not properly prepared the team. Simple as that.
I don't know how ETH can coach a player to not pass to opposing player, not allow a simple shot to go in(against Bayern) or do the basics right.

Next you will say ETH should teach Rashford how to pass a ball.

He was the best goalkeeper in the Champions League Last season, and reached the final...

He made those shit passes at Inter too, but if you win that's overlooked. Today he cost us two of their goals. He cost us minimum 2-4 points in UCL so far.

Was glad to see the back of De Gea, but starting to look like we got rid of one clown and signed another.

That suicide pass was classic De Gea.

You need x amount of ridiculous inclusions every year to generate buzz. He has never been a top 5 keeper, not even close.

He will be fine, hes a good keeper and one of the best there is on the ball. The media have been hoping for mistakes and now they're gunning for him. He needs the De Gea treatment, take him out of the team for a few weeks to shield him and rebuild his confidence.

I'm talking about the pass.

He was here 10 years so I'm sure he had a handful of mistakes like that, but that was definitely not what I'd associate with him - for many years, he'd been hoofing everything that came near him, or making extremely safe, laboured passes to the CB/ fullbacks.

Vs out of form Barca, Porto. Benfica and severely out of form Milan. People got duped on news headlines and anomalies.

You would think people would have learned from the Ballon Dor candidate Donny excuses.

He has been shite.

I remember all of them.. We also had Carroll .. None of them was this bad.. Also, Taibi was a backup and not our #1 for the season.

This guy cant make a save.. he is always out of position. He supposedly had one strength... his passing.. and now he is passing it straight to the opposition.

Absolute car crash.
Taibi was bought as a starter because Bosnich got injured in the summer. Van der Gouw was already our backup and a better keeper than both.

I don't disagree with Onana being terrible and he should be benched.

There are a few De Gea fanboys who are definitely going to be all over Onana whether he make mistakes or not. Best just to put them on ignore and move on.
It isn't about agendas. It is about sensible decisions. Onana had always looked to me to be the kind of keeper a defender wouldn't have confidence in. And he has been awful all season not just tonight.
We had De Gea and a tight budget and we chose to prioritise a keeper over a striker. It never made sense.
It makes less sense when we actually spend over £50m on a downgrade on the Premier League's golden glove winner for 2022/23

Hindsight's a wonderful thing. He's cost us both of the CL games, almost single handedly.

He's shown many times in the past that he can so don't get too emotional about a really bad run of form.
He's never shown it. His highlight reel is forty yard pings, Cruyff turns on he six yard line and (most importantly) the ball hitting him, not him saving it.
