I'm done defending him.

Another horrendous signing. We just cannot get a signing right at this club.

Where has this anti-Onana agenda come from? After the absolute liabilty we've had in goal for the last 3 or 4 seasons Onana is a refreshing change but is struggling because he is playing behind absolute dross like Lindelof, Maguire, and Evans.

Well only one of them was playing tonight, so I guess we have to blame Onana's complete lack of goalkeeping ability on Victor!

Will be dropped. Thank god.

I have not seen him do ANYTHING a keeper should do well. Truly astounding.

has it ever happened before that we spent so much to replace a certain player, only to realize after a few games that even the replacement will need replacing soon?

Didn’t cost near as much but Weghorst was similar in terms of us missing an absolute open goal, transfer wise. In his case, we managed to fail to improve on having no striker.

I wasn’t excited when we signed him and would have preferred us to go for new blood like Costa (Porto) or even Raya. Always thought he had a mistake in him but gosh, I never in my wildest dreams imagined he’d be this bad.

What? No, we had a 1 year extension that we didn't trigger.
That would've been even worse as it would've maintained his wages at 375k/week. A hit of 19m on our already constrained annual accounts.

His. Contract. Was. Up.

There was no short-term solution with him. It was either replace or re-sign for four years.
Not true, EtH vetoed this one, his agent even facilitated the move. EtH made error in judgement on Onana and it might now cost him his job if he doubles down. We were linked to Sommer, Raya, Costa all of them more quality and rounded, but of course we have to go with someone that line the pockets of his agency. EtH has corruption issues to his agency and poor bias to Eredivisie.

Seeing a few calls for Raya.

Maybe people should watch the Arsenal highlights.

You're addressing a different argument altogether. I don't disagree that Onana is looking like yet another poor nepotistic ETH signing. For the record I would've preferred Raya, who we gave Arsenal a free run at for significantly cheaper.

There’s been a shit load
Where have you been the last 10-15 years

The DDG talk is so weird. He needed to be replaced, did people not see his performance in the FA cup final for just one of many examples?

The problem is we've probably bought a very poor replacement. That doesn't erase the fact that DDG needed to go, we're just crap at spending money or scouting it seems.

His YouTube save compilations were a bit underwhelming I have to say but I didn't think it'd be this bad.

He's clearly not a goal keeper that is going to pull off spectacular saves. His mistake tonight costed UTD a red card.

Honestly we shouldn’t have let go of Kovar. The kid looks like he might actually be ready for this level. To make it worse we replaced him with the Turkish keeper who seems far worse for roughly the same price we got for Kovar.

I knew some brainless turd would try and make this argument.

a) DDG needed to be replaced
b) it shouldn’t have been hard to find an upgrade
c) we fecked up that simple task.

I mean, you don’t need to follow the club very closely to know that all three of these things can be true at once.
Go lay down in your cave you absolute hypocrite.

Potentially he will start to play it safe and long as a result of bad performances and a lack of confidence.

Which will then take away all his qualities.

Aye aye aye :/

We should have offered DDG a cheaper contract, but offered NO contract, had he declined then should have gone for in this case Raya. EtH blew it hard, he listens more to his son than the club scouting network.

Who would have thought he was dogshit?? Oh wait maybe anybody who’s seen him play over the past 5 years

Said he was shite in the summer

A real concern. I think he’s a better keeper than he’s shown but he’s giving me serious Bravo vibes at City. Good with his feet(tonight excluded) but feels like every shot he faces ends up in the back of the net.

Go look up hypocrite in a dictionary.

very large, four-toed, chiefly aquatic, herbivorous artiodactyl mammals, having a very large head and mouth, nearly hairless thick grayish skin, long lower canine teeth, and relatively short legs.

Blameless for the 1st goal, that's Dalot fault.

pen and red card though, feck me man put some weight on it. Its the 80th minute.

He has been shite, but are people genuinely suggesting the first goal was in any way his fault? This forum

I think he's now rattled to his core and has lost all his confidence in his abilities, a few weeks on the bench might help.

Did you watch him much for Ajax and Inter? How was he? Can't say I've ever seen him, but to spend £60m he mustve been good at one point

i would say his attempts at diving look like those of a man who has seen it once on tv and thinks he’s got the hang of it.

The one position you simply don't have time to adapt to if you're brought is as number one. He is so bad it beggars belief.

He could come and get that. It bounced twice. He is reluctant to come and claim anything.

Maybe since the mistake against Wolves or getting lobbed in pre season.

He put himself in no mans land for the third. Was easy to chip then he fell back. Stand up ffs.

The one where he dived out to the cross and just got a tip to it rather than catching it looked so amature.

Fantastic GA90 stats at Ajax but no opposition, hard drop at inter vs competition, total collapse in EPL. Case of EtH vetoing club scouts. We were linked with quality keepers.
