Even if that's fairly harmless for once, I just hate absolutely everything about the DM. One of the worst cancers in British society.

I honestly feel he needs a better United team to show his best.
In terms of having a keeper who can play out from the back he has made that difference.
He was meant to be the difference maker!

It still requires the team to do something useful at that point though.
But not if you have players in front of you who are shit on the ball
He was meant to be the difference maker!
The only thing separating him from Average keepers is he’s decent with the ball at his feet. His shot stopping is no better than Dean Henderson’s.
I remember how this same fan base absolutely destroyed Harry Maguire for taking 2 more second on the ball than they would have liked, blaming him for stopping and disrupting our play. Now I watch this guy wank on the ball every game like some GK in a street tournament and it's modern football?
Also he is absolute liability on crosses, if that was DDG caught under a header like he was on Saturday, you'd have the oranges GK expert guy on here explaining how 20 other GK in the league do it better and he is shit.
I thought he was decent against Burnley?
DDG cost us cups and top 4?!Even after 5 years of blunder after blunder and getting the club knocked out of cups and costing top 4 with abysmal performances, you still defended DDG to the end.
You guys just can't handle the fact that a quite few of us were right about DDG. He is gone and still doesn't have a new job, time to get over it.
Maybe give Onana some time to settle into the team and the league and stop writing the guy off after a few games.
He had something like 65% pass success against Burnley.Shot stopping not good enough so far. Passing underwhelming, he holds the ball too long, slows down the game, the opposition leisurely get into formation to defend against us. Then we see aimless passing around the first third of the pitch until someone realises we’re not making progress and thumps a long one forward.
So far he must be averaging 85% pass completion, De Gea was getting 78-80% if memory serves correctly last season. I’m sure De Gea would be getting 85% if it was deemed alright for him to slow down our play and play short passes between the defenders for a few minutes. Yet to see this accurate long ball Onana supposedly has in his locker, the likes of Goldbridge and the rest of the hangers on in the media made him out to be Scholes-esque in that department.
Oh and to reiterate… he’s a goalkeeper. His shot stopping is very poor from what we’ve seen.
It was there from day one when he hit some top drawer passes to Rashford.. who then miscontrolled or messed upShot stopping not good enough so far. Wow, I didn’t realise it was so low.He had something like 65% pass success against Burnley.
Happy with our play being slowed down and opponents easily nullifying one of our teams strengths, quick counter attacking then?Opponents wouldnt allow that. Every opponent would press DDG because they know he would boot it forward or mess up and give away the ball in a bad position.
Onana has been fine. He made a mistake against Bayern but that is it.
Haven’t seen it since. Using that logic Jonny Evans is Pirlo after his one pass against Burnley. It was there from day one when he hit some top drawer passes to Rashford.. who then miscontrolled or messed up
May as well be come African cup of nations time. Just in time for the fixture congestion and cup runs in the new year. Nice.Give the guy a chance to settle into a new league and team.
It’s not like there is a settled team in front of him yet.
At least he isn’t injured yet.
DDG cost us cups and top 4?!
I bet you will find a way about how he will cost us top 4 this season also, you only need time.
And regarding being right or wrong, you and the other GK guru JBL or whatever, were proclaiming that there were at least 10 GKs in the league alone that would improve us, how a modern GK would transform our game and rubbish like that. Were you right, how is it going Guardiola?
He’s did it since. I’m just saying that he’s done it since day oneHaven’t seen it since. Using that logic Jonny Evans is Pirlo after his one pass against Burnley.
There's more to football than press the GK. This line many of you push so hard on here is even more ridiculous when you think we still started with McT in midfield and even Casemiro, add to that the likes of Rashford who even at his best of games is so easily dispossessed or sheperd to move the ball backwards, we also went and added Hojlund who by the looks of it is closer to Lukaku than to someone like Aguero. But yeah "opponents would press DDG" and it was over, what about Onana's 65% pass success against Burnley, he wasn't pressed so what? Did he bring anything to the team with his passing?Opponents wouldnt allow that. Every opponent would press DDG because they know he would boot it forward or mess up and give away the ball in a bad position.

But there has been at least two excellent claims on low crosses into the box, one at the end vs wolves and one the other day... DDG wouldn't have gone near them without pissing himself.
Is that supposed to be some kind of joke? DDG fanboy? Of course I am, like many United fans who were able to recognize quality unlike some. You DDG fan boys are still such an insufferable bunch.
FA cup semi final, CL v Barca, league game v Chelsea, Everton where he kicked the ball straight at the Everton player. Did his best to repeat it last season with howlers v Everton in the Cup and West Ham in the league. Then there was that showing in the Europa League vs Sevilla. Plenty more examples where they came from too.
It will, give it time. But it's only been 5 or 6 games. Takes time for the whole team to adjust and gel with new players, half the back 4 is missing through injury, half the midfield is missing through injury. You can already see the higher press is working better, Utd have to most amount of high turnovers in the league. The passing and control around the back is much better, what's missing is the link up in midfield between the defence and attack.
Don't be coming out with the I told you so line after a handful of games. If he turns out to be shit, I'll say it. I'm not going to label him the new Barthez just yet.
He is garbage, just a bit more confident than DDG.But there has been at least two excellent claims on low crosses into the box, one at the end vs wolves and one the other day... DDG wouldn't have gone near them without pissing himself.

Yeah DDG cost us goals, maybe even some games, yet he earned it for the team to bail him out now and again, guess what, they didn't 90% of the time, because most often he was surrounded by garbage.
Yeah it's been couple of games for Onana, but since you often are so thorough, you should maybe pay attention to other part of his goalkeeping apart from ball playing capabilities and howlers who in the slow amount of games are pretty persistent. A correct ref decision and he was costing us penalty on open day, that GK masterclass against Forrest for the first goal and of course Bayern. His ball handling capabilities look average from what can be seen.
And yeah the higher press is working wonders, the only benefit of it seems to be our reverting to LVG style of passing back and forth.
We are on track to miss out on top 4, wake up and go and watch how teams around us are playing football. He will be an expensive flop and we will buy another GK in the next 3 transfer windows.
I like Onana and am not bothered by the howlers and have no doubt he’ll be with us for 4-5 seasons, but all those posters who robotically claimed that he would transform our attack need to have a word with themselves. I don’t expect anyone to hold their hand up here, but hopefully at least they’ll recognize in their own cone of silence that expectations were set way too high for Onana and that it’s completely daft to believe that any new keeper will have a material impact on our goal scoring production. What you do expect from a new keeper is a better defensive record and on that account the numbers represent a team failure, not just a keeper failure.
Kills the tempo.I like how he's comfortable with the ball, but watching him spend 20-30 seconds on the ball every time he is on the ball is infuriating, especially when we're chasing a goal.
