I’m not sure you answered the right person here, but I was writing about Amad and the fact that Antony played better than him on wednesday.
Defensively yes. But I fail to see how Antony added anything going forward.
Thought he was very meh when he came on, he'll certainly need to show more.
It's predictable and sad to see posters jump on him for it though. He's not played much football and has come back from injuries so he's going to take time to get back up to speed. Not sure why there's always a delight to shit on youth especially when senior players stink up the joint.
I just hope he gets decent minutes to show his abilities and build an understanding with others. He might not, some players shrink in the limelight but he deserves a decent shot from doing so well on loan. If he doesn't sell/PL loan coming up.

The Antony v Amad debate is a legitimate one and deserves its own thread, or perhaps a broader thread asking at what point should a player be given up on and another player be given a proper chance? I don’t know the answer to that but what I and a few others are saying here is that Antony has been given vastly more chances than Amad and yet, at least to some of us, Amad looks a more promising talent than Antony and yet Amad is still only given scraps of minutes.
Ok, fair enough. Quite specifically, he added better positioning when playing out of defense, making himself better availavle for a ball out, which is an important part of going forward and building dominance. He added better retention, important while going forwards so as not so often being caught out with counter-on-counter that we struggle with this season. When saying added, I mean in comparison to Amad later, Garnacho on the other side, Forson last week and Antony before Christmas. He also contributed with nice positioning in front of goal once leading to a shot in the bar, and a good movement and cross-pass twice or thrice leading to a big chance and some nice shooting opportunities for others.
This isn’t a worldie performance, by far, but it’s not nothing either. I think it contributed to us having more possession high up than usual this season, even if it was even more down to Forest.
Almost as if being better than Antony is praise-worthy to some.REASONABLE OPINIONS EXPRESSED WITHOUT EXAGGERATION WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

Diallo's getting the Pelistri treatment - comes on with 10-20 minutes left in a game so very little time to make any type of impact. Even worse that every game he comes on in is a slog fest where we're either trying to protect a lead or claw back a goal.
To see the best in players like him coming through you really need to be winning a game comfortably and be able to bring them on with 30/35 minutes to show what they can do.

Imagine seeing Antony and Forsen being subbed on, unless ETH goes I don't see a future for him here and wouldn't blame him if decides to leave.
These are the most frustrating circumstances for me. Because it's obvious Amad is far more talented than Antony yet the former just continually gets minutes over him because the manager liked him from a past job and we spent 80m on him. So the young player will just rot on the bench (after being forced to stay and not allowed a loan) until he's sold. fecking embarrassing management.

Why would anyone, who wants Amad to do well, wish he came on in this game? We had less than 30% possession, this was not the game for him. Against Sheffield and Everton, he should be aiming to get in the side or when he does come on, making an impact.
Must've called Ten Hag a bald c*nt or something in training. How is he not playing? If this keeps up we'll regret it when he eventually leaves. Forson and Antony getting minutes over him is a bad joke, Forson who showed nothing special even in the youth teams and Antony who's a certified PL flop.
Whether one believes Amad is shit or not, surely no one can argue that Amad is not valued by United and that his agent needs to get to work right now.

Yep, this was one of the only situations I can understand Forson coming on ahead of him. We still needed to hit City on the break, and with no Hojlund, no Rashford and with Garnacho coming off, Forson seemed more suited to what we needed than Amad.
I'm not happy with how little game-time he's got, but this particular match isn't one I'll complain about.
Does ETH have a daughter? What has this guy done to be second choice behind Forson?

Hard disagree. We needed someone who could actually put his foot on the ball and allow us to relieve some pressure. Our attempts to counter attack yesterday were embarrassing.
Then we are not seeing the best of him for a long, long time. The sad fact is that a sub has to come on and change the game, especially when we're chasing. Who has the luxury of introducing players when there's no risk and they can swan about? That's not us. At least Hannibal caused havoc when he would come on, as he was trying to impact the game. He wasn't ultimately what we needed either, but he didn't let the game go past him. Amad is going to have to make more of his cameos.
We all understand that a manager has to make tough choices and that not every player will be given a chance. But it is grating to see ETH prefer Antony to Amad and now to prefer Forson to Amad.

While our managers have been mostly terrible the past ten years, it's very rare that one of these 'out of favour' players go on to do anything of note.
Whether it's Ten Hag, Mourinho, Solskjaer, Van Gaal or Moyes - they all want to win. They're not going to sideline players just for a laugh, it's usually the simplest explanation ie. they aren't showing the required quality needed whether that's talent, mentality, work rate.
That said, I'd just throw him in there to spare Garnacho, the lad desperately needs a break. But I'm not expecting miracles from Amad and expect he'll end up getting sold to a lower league club at some point in the next year or so.

I think that’s a pretty good points. Most or many managers have a few cases of ‘how did he not see his brilliance’ in their history (type of De Bruyne, Salah etc), yet as much as Van Gaal (Januzaj), Mourinho (Martial, anyonebutMcTominay), Solskjær (Gomes, Chong, Tuanzebe), Ten Hag (Mengi, Laird) has been accused of overlooking certain ready-to-play future stars, we have few examples of them going on to prove that claim.
Hard to say how we will judge Mejbri, Amad or Pellistri on the future. What is certain is that EtH have given plenty minutes to young players compared to other CL candidate team coaches.

Amad begging with "one, one, one" for Sir Bobby just makes me like him more. Please, just start him once this season at least. One time is all I'm asking. He will probably underwhelm but I just miss watching him play.
He will start, underwhelm for about 45 minutes after having not played for three months, and people will say "see, that's why Antony comes on ahead of him" or something
I do think today was a perfect opportunity to bring him on for 30 minutes.
