Can't help but take his side in this and I'm usually only too happy to tell stroppy players to piss off.

He did all he could to impress at Sunderland. He comes back to United and sees Sancho get exiled, Antony miss time due to allegations, Rashford playing putrid football and he gets absolutely no chance to play football with all of this.

People keep saying "He's not good enough." He's not even getting the fecking chance to show it.
On top of that, he had his loan move blocked only to watch Antony come on instead of him.

I hope he stays, I can see many a manager rating him.

He played a lot more under Ole than ETH, which was before he showed really positive signs at Sunderland. How is that possible given our winger situation this season?

who knows what is going on....

you'd assume he isn't fancied by Ten Hag.

He's Championship proven and I was impressed by him during his recent cameo against Forest.

Hasn't really had an opportunity has he?

Not necessarily. The fact is that there are four or five people with lots of coaching badges watching him, out-of-form-Antony and Omari Forson face up in training most days of the year. If not one of them stakes a claim for Amad to get minutes ahead of either of them, you must imagine he can’t have impressed any of them much.
When Ole got sacked, Carrick's first game in charge was Villareal and he dropped Bruno and he played Sancho on the right. Both things most fans had asked for, and Ole disagreed. Coaches can agree or disagree with the manager all they like - the manager still decides.

He’s gonna go and prove himself to be world class at another club just like all those other out of favour United prospects over the years like… er…

It's been bizarre what's happened since the Forest game at Christmas where he had a positive cameo pretty much as soon as he was fit from a very long lay off. He was ill the next game from memory and since then has barely featured at all to build on it

Certainly coaches can disagree with a manager. But usually with young players, and we know this happens at United, they are specially followed by one of the coaching staff and the manager is getting feedback on when they are ready and when they should be held back. Fletcher did this with Garnacho for instance. If Forson is played ahead of Amad, you can bet it’s not just about manager preferences.

By the way, in your example, do you remember what Carrick said about Bruno not playing Villarreal, and what he did with Bruno the next games?

He should have been loaned more aggressively. It would have bumped his value and kept him happy. There’s nothing anyone can do about the injuries and the timing of the injuries. Unlucky all round. He has it in his locker to be a top player for any team outside the top 6 and to work his way back up to a big club. He needs a load of games and he wasn’t going to get them here whoever was in charge. Best of luck to him whatever he decides to do. We are probably going to lose a lot of money on this one? Hopefully he does well and the sell on is big

We could add that Bruno has been mostly meh all season. Scott Mctominay gets to play a fair bit as an attacking midfielder without playing that well. Forson getting minutes without showing much, at all. There have been loads of chances for Erik to give him minutes since his return from injury.

if Amad got a fair chance, a couple of starts perhaps, played crap and then threw his toys out after not getting continued minutes. That would be one thing. That would show a pretty arrogant and immature young player.

Him being stuck on the bench because the first teamers are playing out of their skin, that would be one thing as well. He would just have to fight his socks off in training while waiting for his shot. Or be sent out on loan.

But this. Not sure what the feck this is.

Amad looked decent in Championship, maybe he is not good enough for PL.

Still, Forson has shown absolutely nothing.
Very, very weird call by ETH.

Any truth to this?

Not even remotely, no. Ivory Coast have a bunch of good wide forwards and the coach elected to take the ones who had played their part in recent internationals. Wilfred Zaha also missed out because he'd been injured during previous international breaks.

Also, Forson is highly rated by United's coaches. The tweet is just complete nonsense.

Is he still injured, mate? What's happening? :smirk:
Quite sad aren't you.

My assumption is he's not performing in training. But I'm happy to go along with whatever issue you've created in your head.

His advisors should be telling him to wait out the season. The manager is likely to be sacked and the new guy might be the type to find a place for him in his squad.

Give it a rest, is it too much to ask for a player to be professional and not run to social media every time they have hump.
Nahh, he's proved himself to be a shite coach, tactician and motivator now he's fecking with the talents. He needs to piss off and he needs to piss off now.

I would start him over Rashford. Even if he doesn't do anything, we wont see any difference in our overall performance.

No explanation for Forson jumping ahead of him in the pecking order.

I’d be disappointed if he was pleased with what’s been going on.

If you are not going to play a 21 year old, then loan them out.

They need games, and under 23s is simply not enough for development

Ten hag deserves criticism here, because he refused ot let him go on loan, then put forson ahead of him in the squad.

No excuses for it, its simply bad management.

Well said, ETH may be a good coach but his transfers and man management leave a lot to be desired.

Got to feel for him here, unless he’s been an absolute bell in training and we just don’t see it

If he isnt good enough, its fine.. but ETH seems to handle all this poorly... not the first player either.

If he was shit or a dick in training why keep putting him on the bench? Seems another man management screw up from Erik.
Hopefully Amad will fight to stay and get more of a chance to actually show if he's good enough or not.

ETH obviously doesn’t really rate him and that man is stubborn as a mule. He may not be good enough but he hasn’t had a run of any real minutes to get him in to any kind of groove. Forson clearly isn’t it and Antony, good God he’s shit. Looks like he’ll be on his way unfortunately with this latest player drama but I’m not that bothered to be honest as long as ten Hag goes I’ll be happy.

But this. Not sure what the feck this is.

McT might not play well but he does score goals. No way anyone would pick Amad over McT because Amad could maybe do well when McT is scoring important goals. I dont even like to see McT as a player for Manchester United but i wouldnt take the risk and take him off for Amad.

It isnt like ETH is afraid to give young players a chance. Mainoo and Garnacho have gotten chances and are basically starters now. Kambwala to a lesser extend got a chance. You want Amad to get a fair chance, are you willing to lose points to do that? ETH is under pressure already so he puts in Antony who, even when he is kinda shit going forward, but will keep the ball in the team and will work hard and help defending over a maybe situation with Amad.

This isnt a SAF Manchester United team where a young player can come in and play his game while Rooney, Ronaldo, Rio, Scholes, Keane or any of the other world class players do the hard work. This team needs every player to help the team win a game. This team doesnt even have a Virgil van Dijk who is so good that his CB partner is able to focus on his own game and play well.

And i do want Amad to be given a chance but currently isnt the time for it. It should have been during the first part of the season in easier league cup games or easier CL matches (with those opponents those should really have been there) but not now when every point counts. Unfortunatly Amad seems to have a knack for picking up an injury at the start of a season.

I heard a story that he wasn’t being played due to a contract issue. I’m not sure if this has to do with add ons that could be owed or if it is even true…rumours.

It's entirely possible that he's just not that good.

Mainoo and Garnacho have both become starters under Ten Hag. If Amad was good enough, he'd be a regular squad player now.

I'd also add that our lack of decent coaching has probably contributed to him being not very good.

He's categorically better than Forson. He should have had more or less all of his minutes

The most predictable thing of the season Tem Hag was never going to give him a fair chance as it will make his favouritism of Antony look even more dumb.

How anyone wants to give Ten Hag another year is a complete mystery to me.

“If any of you are wondering why Amad Diallo is consistently an unsued sub and this seemingly dead baller Omari Forson is starting this game, here's why...

It's all contract related, the club wants to resign both. Amad's ends next year and Forson's ends in June. Amad and his team are unwilling to negotiate due to a lack of 1st team opportunity. Forson and his team have been willing to do so.

Upper-management and/or the manager have decided to prioritise appeasing Team Forson over Team Amad, likely due to the former being able to leave on free this summer, hence his appearances (albeit as a sub until today).

It has also been recently reported that Forson and the club couldn't agree during negotiation. I'm deducing that Forson starting is a stronger act of propitiation by the club so they can get Team Forson back to the negotiating table and get the desired outcome.

Ten Hag recently stated in presser that Amad's lack of appearances aren't related to training. Which is a tacit acknowledgement that it's not football-related. Perhaps, the club are banking on using next season to convince Team Amad, especially if a new manager”

John Forson won't be here next year and should never have started football matches for Manchester United.

He’s only small, so probably needs some patience. Quality wise he’s easily good enough to be starting for this team, based on his season at Sunderland.

Why would we lose points just because Amad plays? Amad is good with the ball, probably every bit as good at keeping the ball within the team as Antony. And we`ve seen Amad win the ball back a few times already in his few minutes in the team. I think he actually could improve us.
Well. Doesn`t matter, Erik doesn`t rate him at all and he will probably be looking for a club that does in the summer.

I would agree if the manager was consistent with this approach, but some players continue to get minutes even though the reverse applies, i.e., game after game they're shite, yet they continue to feature. Is that because they show more during training!
