Let’s see how Garnacho performs off the bench today. If he scores or at least makes good impact, it will be a good sign

He's going to be sold sooner rather than later, clear that his skillset doesn't lend itself well to this system.
I get yelled at for saying selling him is a good idea while his price would still be very high (before he has a couple of shocking seasons and it “doesn’t work out” as we send him to Bournemouth or something for 30m)

If he's not back in form by the end of the season, I'd be looking at selling him too. I don't think we're going to take passengers moving forward.

He can't dribble and doesn't have a great touch, beats me how anyone ever felt like he was a world class talent.

I thought that he tried playing a bit differently tonight although maybe I'm reading too much into it. Needless to say, it didn't work out well, his (current?) skillset is only suited to one style of play only. I'm not sure if he had managed to do even one thing right tonight.

I wouldn't write him off just yet though, at least he does try and there's certainly a talent there.

Looked motivated to prove something so I'll give him that. No idea how neither him nor Zirkzee had peeled off past the backline to be open for a tapin when Mazraoui was put through by Bruno. Easiest goal in football and our attackers were stood on their heels so Mazraoui ended up having to shoot.

Hopefully he can recover some form so we can get a decent fee for him. He won't ever fit into amorims system

It's weird because not so long ago I'd expect him to have an impact coming on while we're chasing result. Not now. He's in bad form and I hope he can fit into Amorim's team because otherwise he could be gone soon.

EtH has really hurt his development by having him spend two seasons effectively playing like a wide receiver.

This is why you don't just give bad managers endless time, as some wanted to do with EtH. He's potentially ruined one of our top talents.

Let's hope Amorim can coach some new dimensions into his game, because he's so predictable and ineffective at the moment.

He is trying to hard now it feels, not playing with freedom. He needed to learn about decision making anyway but feels he is still learning

To be fair, Maz could have easily pulled it back to Zirkzee who had pulled into decent space. I didn’t see where Garnacho was when the move developed but I was surprised he wasn’t at the back post.

He's 20 years old, people expect too much. His goalscoring numbers and assists isn't even that bad.

I just don't understand what some people are expecting to see? Not every academy player is going to be a generational talent. What he will hopefully develop into is an effective threat who needs to add some maturity to his game, which should come through coaching. Give the lad a chance to fail before failing him, and he's far from failing.

That bugged the feck out of me. Neither makes a run and it essentially forced Maz to go alone

I would cash in on him. For the talent he has I'm not convinced it's all there for him. I know his age which gets used every single time he's mentioned but his decision making is just so poor and I'm not stood in his attitude at this level.

If it's not all about him he seems to lose his momentum and sulks a bit to much.

In a better team we can cope with that but we don't have the team to do that right now.

He’s like Rashford. Their potential is limited by their poor decision making on the pitch and their productivity masks how god awful their actual performance can be.

I still think he can improve, but he needs to grow up and realise he’s not Ronaldo level where he can get away with poor performance as long as he’s banging in 30+ goals every season.

He's just 20. All aspects of his game will improve with effort. We should not be giving up on him so soon, unlike rashford, where best idea is to sell him

This system is actually good for him because it will force him to develop his skills in tight spaces, if he’s capable of it. Sink or swim, as it always is on the big stage. Obviously we have to be patient.
