2024 U.S. Elections | Trump v Harris

last nights Rally will not make the slightest difference. Far too many people don’t care about politics, they care about how much money they have and vote based on who they think will leave them with more after taxes.

Some funny shit if Trump's campaign bombs because of things other people said at his rally.

6 mil Puerto Ricans in the USA. I hope they hear what Republicans think of them and go vote.

A couple of PR buddies of mine, who know hundreds of other PR people were sharing the "joke" on their socials last night, along with the Bad Bunny post of Kamala, with the message that Trump and his sort hates them. It will go viral in their community in no time.

Absolutely this has just murdered Trump. They’re now in damage control but he’s fecked. Absolutely they have just screwed the pooch.

I highly doubt it, it'll soon be forgotten / they will effectively distance themselves. Betting odds have widened for Trump so it can't be that impactful even at this initial stage.

How do you define "the slightest difference". Will is swing the election? Who knows because we don't know how close it will be.

But every time Trump or his surrogates come out and display their blatant racism they are turning people away.

Betting odds are not relevant, for the umpteenth time.

All the scrubs who are getting strung along by crypto whales on that site are getting their ass pegged good and proper. Harris is nearly $3 there now, if they dropped $30m on Trump at even and now another $15m on her, they are guaranteed a big payout either way, classic odds manipulation.

I would love it if those whales betted in good faith and get their comeuppance come Nov 6th though, would be so satisfying.

Is @bazalini still around?

Oh yes, he was the one who was totally convinced by it four years ago  Thought about it the other day, but couldn't remember who it was.

Yup

You'd think people wouldn't be betting gigantic sums on Trump if they didn't have access to data that showed he is very likely to win but who knows.

Nah, this isn’t Trump getting shot nor is it Trump himself making these comments. That wouldn’t move the needle because people seem to think he’s a toothless tiger and he’ll be good for business.

This is openly somebody in Trumps team making racist and sexist comments openly during a well publicised rally against Americans.

This won’t change the die hard position but it will change the key supporter group that he so desperately needs to have any power. There’s a reason the GOP are massively back peddling on it but fortunately… these pricks got caught in 4K

It quite clearly was explained to you above why it doesn’t work….

This is designed to hurt the Everyman not the whales.

Also, make no mistake this is start of the “legitimising the democrats stole an election” bullshit.

If it moves 1%, that might be enough.

People keep thinking everything is a silver bullet with him.

Rape, Epstein links, corruption, pornstar affairs, bending over for Russia, convictions, all the rest of it. If none of that makes a significant dent with him then a comedian telling racist jokes at a rally doesn't matter one bit.

The poll tightening in the Wisconsin senate race should be a huge red flag for Democrats. Baldwin used to be hugely popular in the state and won the last election by 10%.

I live here. Trust me, your average person doesn't care what a comedian said. In fact I have one fellow democratic friend who doesn't love cancel culture, stating that people are getting a bit upset about a comedian clearly doing a set.

“A comedian clearly doing a set…”

Not everyone yesterday was a comedian. Rudy wasn’t for example.

How would they have responded had such talk, by a “comedian”, was made at a rally of Harris?

How would they have responded if such talk, by a “comedian,” was made against white people?

Trump is being given excuses yet again. 10 years and counting of excuses.

(This is not against you)

Damn, I missed this part. Playing Dixie, the de facto Confederate national anthem, to introduce a black speaker.

Lyrics:
I wish I was in the land of cotton
Old times there are not forgotten

What data would they have that would indicate a Trump win? Campaign polling is no better than public. There have been hundreds of polls all showing the race an effective tie.
They are going off vibes. Plus the demographic of those putting crypto bets on platforms like Polymarket are likely to be Trump supporters.
We also know that one person put on $30mil which will have moved the market more than any poll or news story....
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/my...rump-bids-polymarket-betting-site-2024-10-21/
Polymarket is a relatively new platform backed by Peter Thiel and ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin. Wouldn't surprise if they are laying bets themselves because the election has given the site a massive amount of publicity.

Baldwin? That’s probably about right, even though a bit optimistic. Although if she wins by 5 then Harris will be home and dry, hard to see her run ahead of top of the ticket by >3 pts.
Yeah, Baldwin. I think Harris takes it by a larger margin than Biden did, but runs a few points behind Baldwin.

Although we don't live there anymore, the sense I get from those that do is one of excitement on the Dems side to finally have a shot at taking back a bunch of seats in the State Legislature. I could be completely wrong, but that is the vibe. I guess we will get to see if fear (2020) or hope (2024) is a stronger motivator.

Surely these are directly related to polls. (albeit also betting traffic)

If you think that's the case, go put your money where your mouth is then.

No, it has already been explained.

Why would I bet big on Harris when the race is a toss up? Trump might very well win, but it's not 60-40 or whatever the betting sites are claiming.

I bet you do… now tell me how anybody watched that shit could ascertain that excuse for a comedian was actually doing a set and not a Trump party member like Rudy and co because the messaging from the dumb fecks is largely the same.

I don’t care about your friends, it’s the huge minority they offended that will move the needle.

Republicans need every vote they can get because the base isn’t big enough. These clowns might have just lost themselves an election because they believe in the same bullshit poles they’re making up.

That’s the thing with Trump. I wouldn’t have that much of a problem with him individually (given the options and political context)…I think the Trump who spent a few hours on Rogan’s podcast the other day is essentially him. The problem I’d have is with his acolytes and there’s a well represented assortment of nut-bags there.

Even if the first part were reasonable….doesnt he pick the acolytes directly around him? And doesn’t it maybe ring alarm bells as to why he attracts so many of these nutters?

Inside the Movement Behind Trump’s Election Lies
For years, Republican activists have huddled in video meetings to talk about remaking democracy and plan for the election. The New York Times has obtained the recordings.

Its participants have propelled specious theories from corners of the internet into the halls of Congress. They successfully lobbied for new state election laws and procedures, diving deep into the intricacies of election regulations. They have fanned out in neighborhoods on the hunt for evidence of election fraud.

And they have huddled in private, weekly meetings, methodically laying the groundwork that could be used to contest a Trump defeat.

That's absurd.

It's kinda hilarious how there's been this huge debate here about "fascist or not", and then they go and do a basically nazi rally full of 18th century tropes, literal Confederacy music, and Steven Miller's Blood and Soil schtick.

Thanks, fascists, for clearing the debate up for us.

Exactly

Right down to the font on Elmo's MAGA hat, ffs.

I don’t see how this rally changes anything, people here know why 40-45% of the electorate loves him, right?

It is things like these that gives millions of middle-aged/elderly men in rural America erections, they absolutely love that he says out loud what they all are thinking.

Those still aboard the Trump-train are gone, folks, and they are not getting off it.

So, i don't think this make an impact either way.

He said the plans are a response to a “Marxist takeover” of the country; likened the moment to 1776 and 1860, when the country was at war or on the brink of it; and said the timing of Trump’s candidacy was a “gift of God.”

Nobody is talking about it impact those already on the Trump Train.

It’s the undecideds & folks who might not have voted in this election that it could sway.

Who are these "undecideds" at this point? Attention hogs, or people too embarrassed to admit who they will vote for, i reckon.
