Without a normal campaign most people don't know Harris well enough, and she is fighting racist and sexist ideas about how capable she is. The more voters see and hear her contrasting the demogoguery of Trump, the better.

We might question how many swing voters there really are, I read that most people that identify as swing voters actually vote for one party 9/10 times. But voter turnout is gigantic.
 
We’re not voting for the candidate that “Dick Cheney is endorsing.” He is voting for the candidate that we are voting for.

And I voted for the candidate who can stop Trump.

She has literally been on a rampage in terms of appearances the past few weeks. She has done news shows, panel shows, late night shows, radios shows and podcasts.

I remember it differently. Everyone wanted the 9/11 terrorists destroyed, along with the people who let them run training camps. Most Dems who were not neo-cons wanted the Taliban destroyed, nothing to do with Iraq. Afghanistan yes, Iraq no. I remember support for the war in Iraq to be almost exclusively republicans plus Hillary Clinton.

At least here in California.

Exactly. Cheney (both), Rove, Romney, Pence, Milley, the cabinet members now repudiating him are brought out to sway Olde Timey Republicans. Exactly zero Democrats will be influenced by yesterday’s Republicans turning away from Trump. Cheney (and Dubya) are both lucky they didn’t get sent to The Hague.
 
What is it that pisses people off about AOC? I admittedly dont know a huge amount about here but the only stuff I have really seen is when she has been advocating for people in her community and giving GOP members a tough time.
What am I missing? there seems to be a fair bit of hate for her.

She did a photo shoot crying at immigration detention centres under the Trump presidency. Since Biden this has stopped and she now supports Harris who immigration policy is more to the right than Trump in 2016.

She is good at owning republican media figures online but her voting record or political moves are standard Democratic Party(AOC was elected as a progressive/“Socialist”)and usual about advancing her own personal career.

These "bro podcasts" are softballs where she has far more chance of changing minds.

She will be on Fox on Wednesday. She could knock it out of the park and still have Hannity, Ingram etc berating her an hour later, so any viewer that was impress may soon be turned back.

How do you know the likes of Blinken were not "working tirelessly for a ceasefire". I imagine you are not part of the US Delegation, nor a fly on the wall during talks?

She has to back Biden - like it or not, he is the boss and we are close to the election. Shiving him and potentially scuppering any ceasefire deal, which a couple of months ago was at least on the table, would be ludicrous. Show me a time a VP has ever split from the President.

The Iron Dome is a defence system. The US is always going to fund the defence of Israel.

Trump proposed a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. and wanted to suspend immigration from countries with histories of terrorism.

You telling us that Harris's policies today are to the right of this?

A majority (58%, 29/50) Dem senators and a strong minority (40%, 81/207) of Dem House reps voted for the war. It was far more than Hillary. Indeed, Biden was chair of the Foreign Relations Committee in the lead-up to the vote, and thus had a great influence on who got to speak there, and voted - enthusiastically - for the war.

Among the general public, support was equally overwhelming - 66% of the public (only 26% opposed), including 52% of Dems.

No way that this would be the number. Biden had 85%. I expect her to get close to 80%, but at least 75%.

She is far left meaning she is a “socialist”. America isn’t ready for that. She will always been seen as a divisive figure.

America doesn’t like socialism if it doesn’t pertain to saving individuals and common citizens but they love it when it pertains to saving rich corporations.

The inflation was caused by supply chain issues and long term lax monetary policy, not Biden or Trump. Inflation returning to controlled levels was caused monetary policy, and somewhat because of supply chain issued sorting themselves out, not Biden or Trump.

I've been utterly disgusted by the NYTimes this cycle - what is weirdest about it is that the entire editorial board couldn't be clearer, and have been some of his most articulate and clear critics.

But whoever is writing the front page don't give a flying f*ck.

We cancelled our subscription and wrote explicitly that it was because of their coverage of Trump. Obviously won't change anything unless millions do it, but I personally find them even more disgusting than Fox News. At least Fox are eyes open about what they're doing. The Times is trying to present itself as an arbiter of truth - until it's something that could influence clicks. Then the great dollar wins.

Puts on tin foil hat: I also think it's why their polls are consistently 'neck and neck' and 'bad news for Harris' despite being out of step with so many others.

Ask yourself if, were this happening under the Trump administration, you'd be giving the benefit of the doubt to Mike Pompeo over "ceasefire" (that isn't a ceasefire) talks that never went anywhere.

Joe Rogan has reach, so it can't hurt, but those big numbers can be misleading, his viewership demographics, 20 something year old, male, conspiracy-dudes has to be the least reliable group you could rely on to come out and vote.
