I think it’ll be a bit of a struggle today. I hope we’ll have enough to win, but I’m feeling pretty cautious about this one. Hopefully being at home will help get us over the line.
Agree. I'm convinced Everton will look good today :(

I think there are few arguments about rotating a lot.
    1) He wants every one to feel they get a fair chance with him, which will build the team cohesion.
    2) He wants players to give 100% on the pitch and need to build the team physicaly.
    3) He wants to avoid injuries as we havé a lot of fragile players.

Dalot will pretty much start every game of significance at LWB. Malacia barely survived 45 minutes against Bodo Glimt, and I don’t think current Shaw is in Amorim’s mind as a wingback.

That position is definitely one we’ll be targeting—if not in January, then almost certainly in the summer.

I’m a big fan of Leif Davis. He’d be a natural fit for that role, especially since Ipswich employ a build-up style in the 3-2-4-1 system, which mirrors how we and many other teams approach it. His familiarity with this setup could make the transition seamless.

In the meantime, there’s Amass, who Amorim could potentially try out in that role. It’ll be interesting to see if he experiments with that option while we await reinforcements.

He’s rotating. Some of you seem amazed. Firstly we are playing two games a week, secondly he wants to give everyone the opportunity and keep morale high and finally he’s still working out who can fit where.

A good chance for Mainoo, Rashford and Zirkzee to show they are good options
Mainoo shouldn’t have to prove anything. He’s quality when he’s fit and in form. The other 2 have to prove a lot

Mainoo's running and defensive numbers have been very good this season. He was leading the league in interceptions before his injury

Because he’s so silky on the ball, people often overlook that side of his game—it’s a lazy and reductive assessment, in my opinion. His defensive contributions deserve much more recognition.

No problem with the lineup other than Rashford. He’s not gonna work his ass off we all know that. Would have liked to see Mount instead of him.

I have no issue with Amorim using his squad at this point to figure out who works where. I expect we'll see a more settled first XI in a few weeks' time.

What did he say about Hojlund ?
That he has to improve many things. That there are many things he still needs to learn. But I think it is harsh that Højlund is on the bench after last match, where he scored two excellent goals and made an assist. It is not like Rashford or Zirkzee have done much better than that in this season.

I understand the need for rotation and for Amorim to assess different players and combinations, but starting Rashford and Zirkzee over Højlund seems counter-productive.

The two former have been close to useless while Højlund is just coming off his best performance for ages. Why not give him the chance to strike while the iron is hot and build up a good run of form?

Would've preferred Ugarte to Casemiro and Hojlund to Zirkzee. On the other hand, it's up to the players coming in to the side today to raise their game. Need to see a lot more from Zirkzee. Has to be scoring today, imo.

Can someone direct me to a good river? Thank you in advance

It’s hardly good man management to come in and immediately alienate people in the squad either.

He’s seeing who wants it. Hence his comments about Mount. Everyone getting a fair go.

He has to work with this squad as it is until at least January.

Less than the others I mentioned but if he doesnt he might be behind Ugarte and Fernandes the pairing from the last game.
Yep, although still early days yet, but IMO there are two spots that is up for grabs - who to partner with Ugarte and Mount as a 10.

Everyone thinks they see the end of Rashford and yet he keeps coming back into the starting line up. I'd laugh if it wasn't the team.i support.

    Let's see how it goes.

The good thing about Amorim is that he is willing to make changes early

He'll get a chance against tired legs in today's game and will start another game in 3 days time. He's not going to get rusty

I am excited about every game now. What a change !
I was pleased with what Amorim showed already, it’s refreshing and interesting . I am certain this is just a start and we will be a much better team next season.

Big chance for Zirkzee today to prove me & everyone else wrong. He’s done nothing so far to merit being named on the subs bench, never mind starting. Needs to take this opportunity with both hands.

Come on lad, just make us eat our own words.

There are question marks about the starting 11, but we should give Amorim the benefit of the doubt and give him time to express his ideas then we can fully understand his logic. Let’s go United!

Amorim is a smart guy. He's working out who he can trust in the early weeks. Let it play out I say.

As much as I'd like to see Hojlund and Ugarte start, it's nice to have a manager who understands the need for rotation. Arsenal is the bigger game anyway. If there's a game you rotate in it's this one.

Unfortunately, this season we will still see a lot of him, we aren’t exactly stacked in that area.

What did he say about Hojlund ?
Took me a while to find the video to rewatch it. He was asked directly about Hojlund. Interviewer said he had struggled a bit to justify the price but what have you seen/what did you think about what he did tonight?

"I think he improved the connection. I think he needs to improve more because sometimes he gives too many touches when he needs to hold the ball, but it's very important for us because when we are in a low block he is the guy to hold the ball in connection for transitions. He did that very well. He has those characteristics. He was aggressive. He did that very well. He was aggressive in the box. He is a quality player. I think he scores the most difficult goals (laughing), so he has a lot to improve. Same for every player, but he did a great job today."

I interpreted it as him wanting to give praise to Rasmus but also trying to temper expectations a bit. He clearly doesn't see him as the finished article for his number 9 position right now imo.

I think this is exactly what RA is looking at now. He was very specific on his comments on Mount really wanting it and showing desire. Hojlund did on Thursday now over to Zirkzee.

Hopefully it’s Zirkzee in one of the 10 roles. He looks lost as a pure striker.

Ye it’s so refreshing to see a manager make the necessary changes quick when it needs to be done. None of this wait till 60th minute nonsense.

Must say I'm not looking forward to watching Rashford, but hopefully he can make a difference

Tbf, the argument was a fair one last season. His defensive numbers weren't very good last season, but he clearly worked hard to improve this side of his game over the summer.

Didn't realize how busy December is going to be. No wonder he's rotating. Bench looks strong

Mainoo, Casemiro, Rashford and Zirkzee will be jogging around like always. Bruno will stay near the striker position.

Expect a huge gap in midfield and no work rate at all.
