Really looking foward to the game now, hopefully Greenwood gets more than three pointless minutes at the end.

A must win game though even this early in the league.

Line-up I expected. We played reasonably well against Wolves and should have certainly left with three points.

Think it will be a similar game today, in that we'll dominate possession and Palace will counter.

If we get the first goal, I expect us to go on to get another 2 or 3. However, we must not force anything because we'll create chances.

James needs to keep the width and stretch, what I assume will be, a compact back four.

Disappointed that Gomes is not on the bench, can only think that Ole is trying to ensure that we are getting some stability into the squad and team by naming the same match day squad. I can understand the back four, and midfield two being the same, and Rashford and Martial as a striking duo, but to me this game will be crying out for a Mata or Gomes, someone who can unlock a deep lying defence. To me, both Lingard and James require plenty of space in behind, to be able to make runs, or take on defenders. Don't think we will score many, but a 1-0 or 2-0 scoreline will suffice. I look forward to Lingard and James proving me wrong. The plus side of Lingard playing is that it highlights his deficiencies. I think Lingard is a good squad player, and will get games this season, but playing Gomes will get us looking to the top league position, instead of just looking for top four, which is all we can realistically aim for this league season. James will improve as the season goes on, and every minute he plays he gains valuable experience, which is what I hope the rest of the youngsters get during the campaign.

Instead of Lingard maybe but not James, the lad hasn't done pretty well so far imo, and he offers something on the right that we haven't had for years, not sure what people expect so early on.

James is there to stretch their defence. I’m not sure wtf Lingard is there for.

Lingard doesn't get goals and assists but he does link up well with other players to help create chances.

And his movement helps drag defenders out of position and create space for other attackers.

It's not just about what you do with the ball. Look at Ji-Sung Park. He wasn't the best shooter/crosser/passer.

Lingard to contribute another total of nothing before being subbed at the 75th minute mark having done nothing but 'run around a bit'. Bit of a joke for a big club to have such a non-entity of a player starting every single fixture. James getting the nod is interesting, I thought he'd be benched today but we'll see how he fares - home against a defence highly likely to park the bus. Actually might not be the ideal game for him but hope he smashes it.
