I put Greenwood in instead of James but I don't mind, playing a consistent 11 in the PL isn't a bad thing, it should build team chemistry and lead to some consistency of performance.

I don't know why, it's obvious he's going to start for now as even though he offers very little on the ball he is part of the press, same as James is starting again as while he had a mediocre game on the ball he presses well to win it back, for now Ole is going with what is offered off the ball from RW and #10, rather than what is offered on it, it seems to me.

I really dont see why James is on the starting XI, he's still miles away from the quality needed. He may get there, but atm he is more of a thread coming in as a sub, if anything. I hope Ole dont stick blindly with him.

As expected, said it in the summer but this will definitely be Ole's go to 11 for the first part of the season. The younger guys will get their chances later on and I have no doubt theyll take them, and by the end of the season I can definitely see Gomes and Greenwood breaking into the starting team (or close to it). Just not in August which is understandable

Exactly. Not sure what people expected tbh? No manager in their right mind would start with Greenwood and Gomes from the off, they have to be slowly eased into the 1st team. The moaning here is just getting tiresome now.

This is the only thing that bothers me, Mata on the bench over Gomes, there are no excuses for that, Mata hasn't offered anything for quite some time. I'm hoping Rigor is only on the bench as Fred isn't fully fit yet.

The fact that Ole keeps starting Lingard no matter how bad he's been is becoming a real problem.
Especially in a game like this one where we are expected to have most of the possession.

Gomes I can see but Greenwood should be no where near the first 11 on a permanent basis. That's not saying he isn't good because he quite clearly is but he is 17 and needs to be protected... Couple of bad games and the resident knee jerkers would tear him apart.
